Fantastic cabin … cozy , clean and complete . The River view was phenomenal . One of the cleanest lodges, I have ever stayed at . Such a pleasant surprise . Would defiantly recommend this to all. We happened upon it, late in the evening , and we’re so pleased with our stay . Wish we could have stayed longer .

Charming , cozy , clean, comfortable and complete . Lots of C’s for an A rated experience

Stayed in cabin 4 (tucked in the woods by the river) for 2 nights.  Those beds...were crazy comfortable.  Even the twins upstairs!  Loved opening the screened windows to the sounds and cool breeze of the river.  It rained both days and we had a wonderful stay.  Tromped around the cool town, visited the museum, hiked the waterfront, ate pizza at MileHigh, ate salmon cakes and chowder from the food truck-Salmon Spot?, and read a lot.  Enjoyed eating our breakfast(brought our own), food truck leftovers and just being in our cabin.  Did yoga upstairs...great view of river from upstairs and enough space.  The place was immaculate and provided bug zappers and mats for muddy boots.  Did I mention the beds?  

Comfortable

High level of comfort and solid value. Would stay again, and I'm a person who prefers variety to repetition.  Suite 4.

Positives:
 We had a view of the river from the room-- lots of small airplanes flying over, which for us was a pleasure rather than an annoyance. Two storey suite, with a queen bed between living area and kitchenette, and two twin beds in the open loft. Lots of windows that open.
For a kitchenette it was the best stocked I may have ever seen: electric tea kettle, toaster, fridge, induction plate, generous amounts of tea, cocoa, Saran wrap and wax paper, paper plates/bowls. I could easily live in Suite 4 for a month.The suite is much nicer in person than it looked in photos.
The grounds are nicely kept, and there's a strong sense that the owners care about making it a good experience for guests. The lobby has a complimentary coffee/tea bar all day, and there are books, games and DVDs. Honor-system snacks available.
This is the only place I've ever stayed that has enough hooks in the bathroom.
There are cabins on the property, and cabin 3, and esp cabin 4 looked inviting from the outside, and are well placed. Staff were unfailingly polite.

Negatives:
 it is a 1/2 mile walk to town, along a busy road without a dedicated footpath. Most of the suite is carpeted--and the carpet looks new, but I'd rather not have carpet. Mild Christian religious tone (shower curtain has bible verses, bible on the bedstand. 

Best mix of comfort, value, space and amenities

We stayed in Unit 3 in the main lodge, with the King bed split loft at the top of the house. Fantastic location right on the river, absolutely gorgeous. Very clean and cozy.  Bed is super comfortable. Games and light amenities available. Sign says no vacancy yet it doesn’t feel crowded; instead it’s very peaceful. I sat on the common front porch at sunrise and watched the rain pour down and the river flow by with a cup of coffee. Town is just a few minutes away by car. Just perfect, a real treat to stay here!

Stunning River Retreat

Everything about our stay at Susitna River Lodge was truly amazing. The staff we’re charming and went out of their way to make us feel welcome and were willing to go the extra mile. The owners daughter even saw us walking back from town in the snow and stopped to pick us up, swinging past the look-out on the way back. 
Our suite was well appointed with new carpet, and a tremendous view overlooking Susitna River.  It was cozy and warm, very clean and peaceful. The downstairs lounge had the television and board games, etc. and was a welcoming and enjoyable space to sit peacefully or interact with other guests. 
The Lodge has stairs, so not particularly suited to those with limited mobility. 
It was about a 10 minute walk into Talkeetna village with quite a few dining options. 
All in all an extremely enjoyable winter visit and we wished we had booked a longer stay.

Hospitality like no other

My husband and I stayed for 2 nights.  We stayed in suite 3 and it was wonderful.  The suite was roomy, the bed was super comfortable and the staff is super friendly and helpful. We ate at Mile High Pizza in town and it was delicious! We did not get to see the lights in Talkeetna because of the clouds the 2 nights we were there but the view of the river beside the hotel was beautiful.  We also shopped at the various shops in town and everyone inside them was so friendly.  We purchased a few items from local artists. We will  definitely stay in Talkeetna again as well as in Susitna River Lodge again.  Include this lodge in your stay if you are headed to Talkeetna!

Wonderful Stay in Talkeetna

great quiet friendly modern place half way from Anchorage to Denali!

The rooms (we had an entire small house by the river) are open, modern, airy, quiet, and cozy. Everything worked great. We arrived later than expected but it was no problem. Very convenient to Talkeetna (about half a mile from the town, which is quaint and gorgeous). Great views of Denali from the town side of the river. All the nice details were well done.

Highly recommended!

This place was so nice and clean! A great and pretty clothing place. The rooms were very clean and cozy, Darlene was so sweet and very helpful! Definitely will visit here again, was very pleased with everything on my stay!

Such a cute place!!

The cabins here were amazing! They have very comfortable beds and couches. The owner has a lovely common area in the main cabin with free hot chocolate on a cold rainy day. This was my favorite place to stay in Alaska

Awesome place!

After being in Alaska for 3 weeks, staying at the Susitna River Lodge was a treat.
Just off the road the cabins were two-story and the amenities were perfect.
The river view was calming and peaceful.   Although there was a quirky internet
the first we arrived, it was straightened out immediately.   The main lodge was lovely too and opened from 10-5 if we remember correctly.
We enjoyed the hot water kettle and wonderful tea selection provided and a stocked kitchen too.     The location to town was perfect.    We would stay again.   The rooms were clean and comfortable.
