Tecopa

Great place to relax and unwind. I enjoyed soaking in the private hot pools, and the warm water swimming pool was fantastic. My room had a full kitchen which made cooking easy. Lots of things to see and do in this area two breweries and several restaurants. I enjoyed the wood fired pizza at the Kit Fox. The China Ranch Date Farm is a must see. They sell date shakes and pastry. There is also some good hiking in the area. Over all a good place to visit.

Weekend get away 

Really lovely hot springs with nice set up, friendly people, nice to have a clean and private hot spring. Quiet area made the experience very peaceful as we were staying nearby. Recommend stopping by!

Positive aspects:

Negative aspects:
- there was a bad smell in the room
- there was no shower in the bathroom (it was probably written somewhere when I booked but I did not see it)

- in the collective shower next to the inside pools there was no hot water 
- our room was not so clean, I did not dare walking bare foot on the carpet floor…

- our room came with a kitchen, that’s the only reason we booked it. The kitchen was very old and  very dirty (and I usually don’t pay much attention to that, which means it was very dirty…). We did not dare touching some of the cooking tools or pans and there was a butter plastic cover stuck on the wall… we had to clean the coffee maker before using it as it was so dirty. 

- the room and the furnitures were old and  not well maintained (when we opened the window in the kitchen some painting parts fall down…)

In overall, it was far too expensive for what we got, I would not recommend that place

Good location and nice pool, that’s all

Will return but only because of the hot springs. The web site gave a accurate description of the trailer we stayed in, it was a last minute booking and this is all they had left. We felt almost insulted by the lack of attention and care in the trailer. It was very clean and we appreciated the seating are. But, there is not any hot water, so we booked in part for the kitchen and had to heat water on the stove for dishes. Also the blinds in the living room were beyond broken, it would have been mush better to just take them down. Towel were old and thin. Internet in the office worked about 25% of the time and then just for texting and a phone call. 
The hot pools were wonderful, the big pool was too cold for our liking. We found with the occasional wait that we could always get a private tub, but we were their during the week.
We would return for the location to the park and the wonderful water, but also felt with the resort fee on top of the cost that it is very expensive for the overall lack of upkeep.

Will return, maybe

We were so looking forward to a lovely stay in this ‘retreat’. On arrival we were directed to mobile number 17, I just wish I had taken photos in hindsight. The fly screen to the window to the wc was hanging off, the undercarriage under front door was hanging down. Not a good first impression. On entry we noticed all the vinyl floor was wet and it had a funny smell which my daughter said was stale smoke and true enough there was a grotty old sofa with a very obvious cigarette burn on one of the arms and 2 old cushion. Everything above this cabin was simply awful, it smelt and looked dreadful. I dread to think what when the mattress was last replaced. This was caravan 17 and was charged £157 in advance, no refund! It was advertised as non smoking too. When I went back to reception to say we weren’t happy with the standard and did they have anything better he questioned what I mean’t. Trying not to be rude, I should have said it needed condemning. But no, I just said the floors were wet, he said they’d just been cleaned, I said we’d hoped for something nicer, he said ‘in what way’. He was in the middle of changing shifts and clearly wasn’t interested in us. He said he’d got anothe mobile number 20, it would be another £15, no problem if I could look at it first. I had to wait while he did a quick handover and the new guy (very pleasant) would show me. It definitely had better views and on entry I noticed the door fly screen was torn and hanging. It also had wet floors and had the same cloying smell that hung to your clothes and nostrils. Stale cigarette smoke. It was getting late so I said we’d take it. I asked the nice chap where the restaurant was on site, it was closed that day but down the road there was a bakery for sandwiches, or 7 miles in the opposite direction was a restaurant. I wasn’t happy. When my daughter saw inside cabin 20 we both decided no. I was very upset. We’d lost our money, there was a big sign in reception saying no refunds. No where to stay. We finally found a motel in Shoshone. On arrival we thought oh no, however, the rooms were lovely with new shower, wc and sink. Non smoking and clean comfortable beds AND a restaurant opposite. We highly recommended this place. They also have a spa pool which we didn’t get to use. The receptionist was very kind and we discovered the whole town was owned by a lady called Susan who decided to upgrade the motel. How fortuitous for us!! Just a shame she didn’t own Delight’s….  A very expensive night for us. Do not pay until you see what is offered.

Avoid! Dreadful accommodation, and lost money!

We arrived after dark despite racing the sun -- in January, it's hard to win that one -- but had no trouble finding the place in the dark desert thanks to the bright lights and large sign reading Delights Hot Springs. Using the map the staff had emailed us plus our GPS, we drove right up to the house. The only challenge was that there are 2 houses in that area, and no address that we could see marking the address. However we saw a car at the other house so decided to try our code on the first one, and sure enough, it let us in, so we knew we were at th right place. The 3-bedroom houses are across a large field from the main property so you have privacy which we appreciated especially since we had our 2 dogs with us and didn't want to bother anyone. We had a cone fireplace, picnic table and a Bhudda statue outside, a carpeted porch with a couple chairs on it, and plenty of space to park. We put a tie out near the door for our dog who is a flight risk, and the other one we felt comfortable letting out into the large empty area around the house whenever he had to pee.

When we stepped into the house, our kids explaimed, "This is NICE!" There are faux wood floors throughout -- much better than carpeting especially since it had been raining and was muddy all around the house. There is a large L shaped couch which was comfy for family time, an open kitchen and dining area, a laundry room, two full baths and 3 bedrooms.

As our three-night stay went on, we did notice a few things that could easily be improved in the house. Some hooks on the wall by the front door and a boot rack or tray would be great. None of the bedrooms have bedside tables or dressers so there is basically nowhere to set down your things except the floor. We were only given one thin and small towel per person, for using both in the house and at the mineral baths. And the kitchen could use more supplies, like hot pads, cleaning rags and more towels. The dishwasher didn't work well. There was a stand-alone water dispenser and one in the fridge, but neither was supplied with water, which would have been nice given the heavy mineral taste of the tap water. We ended up filling up our water bottles at Death Valley National Park's Furnace Creek Visitor Center each day, as well as drinking some seltzer we had with us. Finally, the kitchen could use some staple items like cooking oil. It came with salt and pepper, but that's it.

While the unit was clean in general, the inside of the fridge was dirty.

As for the beds, the king bed sagged so that my husband and I could not sleep there at the same time. We took turns sleeping on the couch. There were no fitted sheets, only flat, which made it hard to keep the mattress pad covered. Another nice addition for this house would be some extra blankets for curling up on the couch (luckily we had sleeping bags in our car which we brought in) and a coffee table. We used a big plastic bin we had with us!

Our stay came with access to the mineral pools at Delights Resort, although there was not any info provided except to tell the office staff that we are staying at Tecopa Sunrise. The first night, my daughter and I cautiously drove down the road to the office. There is one room that looks like a community room with couches and a big table, some games and books, and then there is the office. There was a light on inside but no one there at around 8:30 p.m. so we went ahead to check out the baths. We came across some people waiting who explained to us that there are 4 baths in private rooms with 104-degree water, plus an open pool that is 90-100 degrees. Since we saw several people were already waiting, we decided to try again the next night.
The next night we had dinner at the Tecopa Brewing Co. on the property, which is an adorable tiny restaurant with only one or two people working there. The beer and bbq were tasty. Afterwards we walked over to the baths again and this time although they were all occupied no one else was waiting so we got the chance to check it out. You step inside a dimly-lit room to find an open shower stall and a pool the size of a large hot tub. Both rooms we tried over the course of our stay had open ceilings with just a screen so we could see the moon above. So you are supposed to scrub up in the shower and then just soak in the hot pool. It felt very nice, like a hot tub with no jets and no chlorine. You can see that water is constantly flowing in and draining so it should be relatively clean.

The best thing about Delights overall is the location, in the middle of a beautiful desert and relatively close to Death Valley National Park. (It was an hour, but there are relatively few places to stay that are closer and none that I found seemed as nice.) Although it was expensive at about $300 a night, I was glad we opted for the house because we had tons of privacy. I would recommend Delights to anyone who's visiting the park or who wants a desert getaway.

Stayed in Tecopa Sunrise 3-bedroom House

We booked a room 3.5 months in advance, then 2 days later decided to upgrade to 2 rooms on a different weekend. They require pre-payment in full and have a no modifications policy. But don't look for it on their website, you wont find it there, they only let me know after I gave my credit card.  So I lost all my money not only for the room I previously booked but a $25 resort fee for the day.  How can that be legal? I tried to reason with them but they would have none of it. Dont book this place unless you know for sure you will not want to change your reservation or you risk loosing the entire amount.

They are ripping people off

Surrounding is very peaceful and quiet but the room is rundown. Smallish chest double as night stand has chipped paint. One of the mini blinds missing a wand. There is no desk/table in the room for our belongings. Bathroom has no countertop space for toiletries. Quarter round baseboard popped up in several places. Night shift worker was not very friendly. I will not come back to this “resort” again. 

Nice surrounding, that’s about it

I typically go year after year around the same time.  This place is magical.  The peace and quiet is amazing.  Unplugging every now and then is important.  The mountains are beautiful and even the first couple of days that were overcast, awesome!!  I generally reserve a cabin that faces the mountains and there is nothing like it.  Make sure to stay at least a couple of days so that you can visit Death Valley.  My favorite national park.
Oh yeah, the hot springs, I try to soak at least three times a day if possible.

I've stayed at Delights 10 times with both my pop-up camper and renting cabins but last visit was enough to never go back.

The owner is an aggressive liar would would rather blame guest for issues rather than fix problems with the Delight's staff and facilities. 

We rented a cabin and, starting from 11.30 pm till about 1.45 AM. there was non-stop ruckus at the entrance area of the facility; cars coming and going, loud noises, a U-haul hauling a car trying to get past the reception area, then backing up down the street, all while someone was outside yelling out direction. 

This is a place that advertises no late check ins. A group of 6 came to check in around midnight. They were yelling, slamming doors, repeatedly pressing their key FOBs to lock doors (why, who knows?) and in general being very disrespectful to your posted quiet rules and late check in rules.

The commotion was so persistent that I had to leave the cabin and confront them myself, which was very uncomfortable.  Eventually they quieted down, but not after another half hour of nonsense.  

Remember, this is in the middle of nowhere. Pretty uncomfortable situation. 

The next morning, we reported what happened to the front desk. They apologized, confirmed it was very loud the prior night, and also volunteered that the new night watch employee was new and didn't know what she was doing yet.

The manger Brandon took down our information, said he would talk to the guest that came in late, the night manager, and then call us. 

The manager emailed us the next day (attached) and called us liar. 

We were trying to be helpful and they lost a long time customer. 

Delights used to have an experienced nighttime security/groundskeeper named Allen who was great and took care of any issue immediately. I've been camping there when people would show up late at night, sneak in to soak or cause trouble. These issues were always taken care of. 

Now they don't have this person. If you have any issues at night with unruly guests or unwelcome visitors, you're on you own, as evidenced from our experience. 

In addition, the facilities are much shoddier than they used to be. You'll see if you visit. But I recommend you don't.
