This is the second AvantStay I've rented in Telluride, and unfortunately the experience this time around was pretty terrible (the first time, the only issue was the lack of adequate internet which we got around with a hot spot). The team was communicative and responsive when we arrived and tried to find a solution when we began to have an issue with pet dander. Unfortunately, things went downhill pretty quickly once we started to talk about next steps. The most important thing I would say is that it appears AvantStay allows "service" animals at their properties, even the "humans only" ones. This unfortunately meant that I was in a full blown asthma attack about 15-30 mins in condo D01. While the team tried to find us a solution, one available unit was more than a mile away and the other was over 7 miles away, with no guarantee that there hadn't been a service animal in either. The option that they thought didn't have a service animal recently only had a Queen. We chose this area specifically because we are frequent visitors to Telluride and prefer to stay in this part of town, we needed a King for a number of reasons, and were not stoked about going to another location that allows service animals. The "humans only" spot near this location with a King, which we offered to pay the additional cost of, had recently had a "service" animal. From a medical standpoint, I was not in a good state and was trying to regulate my asthma attack, so my very worried husband lost his temper after the AvantStay folks hung up on him the first time (they hung up at least twice). He apologized for losing his temper, but, to be fair, I was not doing well and it's scary when I'm having trouble breathing. In addition to having challenges finding a truly "humans only" spot, there was a strange disagreement about beds -- the folks at AvantStay seemed to try to pressure us to stay in a condo with a Queen bed, and at some point my husband had to say "I can't make myself be any smaller." It was about 9pm at that point, and we asked if we could stay in the place with the Queen for the night while we figured things out the next day. We were informed by the Avant team that if we stayed at that property or their alternate property for the night, we would be charged in full for the entire stay. We decided to find a hotel.

I gave this review two stars - if you have no issues with pets, the condo appears to be quite nice. It's well located, quiet, and the condos are close to all of the things we wanted to be close to. It's next to the Bear Creek trailhead, which is a wonderful hike. There is outdoor parking available for the units, although there are no plugs for an EV so plan accordingly. There is a charging station in the paid SilverJack lot nearby. I've stayed at a couple non-Avant condos in this complex both in winter and summer, and the location worked well for my group both times. 

For the AvantStay team: please, please, please understand that some of your guests have severe allergic reactions to animals and have bed-type needs due to many many issues, often medical. I did a lot of research to find an animal-free rental in the location we wanted to stay in with a King bed. If you allow animals at your properties, please update your listings to indicate this. If you allow service animals in a place that is fully carpeted, please consider making that extremely clear in the listing. And finally, please be aware that, while some of your guests have medical needs to have service animals, some of your other guests may end up in a medical emergency because of that exposure. When a person is having a medical emergency, please consider prioritizing finding a safe, healthy environment so that you can all have a rational conversation once the medical emergency has been resolved. Pressuring people experiencing a medical emergency to make a decision based on sub-par information is a choice, but I do ask you to consider making a different choice if this were to happen with someone else in the future.

We were very lucky that we weren't there during a super busy time and were able to find another condo nearby that could take us in late at night. Now that I am more aware that AvantStay allows service animals at their "humans only" properties, I will be unlikely to rent through this company in the future.

Good location, cute condo, not for folks with pet allergies, somewhat inflexible mgt company

This condo C01 isn't too far from the gondola but with ski boots on and skis it is not ski in and ski out.
However these condos are pretty close to everything in the town of telluride.
The condo was pretty decent inside with everything we needed. The kitchen could have used a few more cooking and serving pieces.
That unit is in the "basement" so you do have to go down a couple set of stairs. You can hear the people upstairs walking, vacuuming and talking loudly so I would get a unit on a upper floor. 
Unfortunately, there was a power outage when we got there and so we had no electricity, no heat, no light. The owner said someone was supposed to come and check on us but we were there from 5 pm on and no one showed up to at least get us some candles or a flashlight.
So we lost all the food we bought that went in the fridge. We couldn't see anything at night and of course, it was very cold. I politely asked that they comp that first miserable 24 hour but they refuse because the outage wasn't their fault. I certainty would have never charge my guests if they didn't get what they paid for, my fault or not. From talking to locals, I was told that this wasn't the only time they had heard negative about these particular owners. Simply very greedy. Stay in a different unit and enjoy the marvelous skiing.

Not a bad location.

This is the second time that I have stayed at this locations. I go with a large group so we usually rent 2 to 3 condos. The one that I stayed in had three bedrooms and each had their own bathroom. Mine was not attached to the room, but in the hallway. The others in my condo had an attached bathroom. The location was a short walk to Telluride or the gondola to Mountain Village. I would recommend this location. The only problem that we had was when walking across the bridge, some of the sidewalks were not clear so we had to walk on the road. The road was icy and of course, one of our party slipped and fell. This would be my only negative for staying at this location.

Great place to stay

Rented thru Alpine lodging, Unit A102.. Very clean, well stocked w all living essentials, even fan for white noise.  Right on river w running water sound to enhance ambiance.  Came for Car Show and Colors of trees and could not be better

Great Location

We are currently staying in unit A101. It is dark, and the upkeep shoddy at best. Frayed carpets, torn slip cover on chair, leather couch has rip, tried to open screen door and it immediately fell off. Area rugs in kitchen and one bathroom disgustingly dirty and we took them up and put them in a closet. Glass on coffee table is uneven and lifted in one area. Other area rugs the edges are turned up and you trip on. Knick knacks are cheap and haven't been cleaned in a while. 
Staying for a week at a pretty penny and we have one dish towel and one pot holder. Not to mention doesn't even have the basics such as salt and pepper. We could go on and on, but worst of all was the service provided by Telluride Alpine lodging. TV in bedroom and internet not working although part of the deal when we called and spoke with the supposed help desk, the woman was rude and very unhelpful. Said she could "probably" get things fixed today but this was off season and things would be in order by on season which doesn't help us.

Shoddy at best - unit a101

Riverside was the perfect fit for our family!  We were just a few minute walk from the gondola, shopping, restaurants and really anything in town.  We were there a week and took advantage of every free amenity offered....bikes, kids' hang out room, hot tub, work out room, wifi, wine & cheese night, yoga class, transportation to anywhere in Telluride at any time we needed, and our favorite...the daily cookies & tea!  The service was excellent, and they provided anything we needed with a smile.
