Perfect for most travelers on a budget. Take other reviews about it being dirty with a grain of salt. I Was taking a trip to the Cherohala Skyway and this was the closest hotel with decent prices. I found a King bed room with mini fridge, microwave, and good tv for $45.00 a night for two nights! Can’t beat the price. It had a tiny bit of dust if I reached behind things but it was mostly clean and I’m not picky. The bathroom was clean and the towels where too. The shower was a bit small but I’m 6,3 and 300 lbs so most hotels have small showers for me. Also the wi fi is very fast the decor was outdated and it still had wall paper but I like the older decor. Most hotels and houses with white walls and the same everything gets boring and the older decor gives it a homy feeling or like the guest room at Nana’s house. Perfect for the budget. No frills but for one or two it is what it needs to be clean but not spotless and very comfy 

Amazing price for a bed and the basics

Very dated hotel. Our room smelled musty. My son lifted the bath mat up and saw black mold. We spent a fitful one night here . If we hadn't been so tired, we would've left and traveled further on the interstate. 

Wouldn't spend a night here again 

Knowing that we were going to spend the night in Athens, TN, we picked up a copy of the red “Travel Coupons Guide” for Tennessee at the Tennessee Welcome Center on I-75. In it was a discount coupon for Scottish Inns that, when the taxes and fees were added, came to $48.97 including taxes. This was at least $10 to 15 less than the regular price and what you would be paying at other nearby motels. 

The room was very nice and clean. There were two very comfortable beds giving us a good night’s rest. There was a fridge, microwave and Wi-Fi, but no other amenities such as a coffee maker and iron. There was a continental breakfast, but we were long gone before it became available at 6:30 am. However, we have no hesitation to go back to this Scottish Inn.

Scottish Inns in Athens, Tennessee

This was the nastiest hotel we have ever stayed at!! We left after only a few hours to look for a new hotel because we were so grossed out! There were multiple cockroaches crawling around the room, and along the walls!! Who knows what other kind of bugs are in the room!! The front desk offered no apology when we explained why we were leaving mere hours after arriving, and was downright rude while we were checking in!! DO NOT STAY HERE!! Utterly disgusting!!

You get what you pay for and since this hotel was so inexpensive, I will not hold it to higher quality expectations.  If you are looking for a quick, overnight stop, Scottish Inns will do that job.  The staff/family was very pleasant but at this price, I expect cleanliness and a sleepable bed.  That is about what I got so that gives them a three.  Creature comforts are minimal.  There is a good Mexican restaurant with a killer Margarita across the street and Waffle House next door.  So in the end, nothing to write home about but you cannot complain about the rates.  PS:  WiFi was free and provided ample streaming speed.
