I had a very bad experience with another motel and walked out. I called Executive Inn to see if they had any available downstairs rooms. The gentleman checked and said he did have only one room left and when did I need it. I told him now and that I was just across the freeway. He said he would hold it for me. We zoomed over and checked in. I told him about the bad incident I'd just had and he commiserated with me and told me he knew of what I spoke. 
The place is an older motel but it is very clean and comfortable. I would stay there again. The couple are very nice and very friendly. 

Wonderful Stay

The property is very old and the ceiling title seems as if was going to fall down  it was uneven, the tub had dirty rings in it.  The carpet was old the room was very old peeling and cracking paint,  there were visible dead bugs on the floor could tell that very basic cleaning done.  The very first time I have ever encountered this at over a 100+ hotels I have stayed at the refrigerator was unplugged, not clean.  the mattress on the beds were not comfortable at all. not a place I will stay at ever again

Monday, September 12, 2016 - Approximately 9:20pm. We've been on the road since 10am. Trying to get out of Texas. We barely made it out alive. 

There were oodles of motels in Texarkana, AR. Executive Inn was one of the cheapest when I checked the rates the day before on Google. It seemed to have okay reviews when I checked it on Google. Why I didn't look at TripAdvisor first is beyond me.

Here's what happened.

We pull in, it's after 9pm, we're exhausted. We ring the bell, the girl comes into the lobby and points us to a side window. We go over and talk to her. Well I do the talking, my husband is standing off to the side.

The parking lot does not look full by any stretch of the imagination. The building is two floors, exterior entrances.

I ask for ground floor, 1 bed, 2 adults 1 night, Smokeing, Non-smoking doesn't matter, We just want a room downstairs (if possible). She tells me 2 Queen beds, ground floor $55 plus tax. She pointed to a NO PETS sign. I said we had no pets.

I asked my husband what he wanted to do, Then while I am asking him, she says she has 1 King, 2nd floor for $45 plus tax. I ask to look at the room. Here's where everything spins wildly out of control.

She tells me that she CANNOT leave the building. I ask for a key. She says that the keys don't leave the building either. I look at my husband and ask "You want to risk it?" Then he says he hears "No Refunds". And he storms back to the truck.

Now, I never heard anything about NO REFUNDS and I was right there. BUT! For the key not to leave the building? You have to pay and can't see it first? No, homey doesn't play that game. We aren't in Las Vegas. If I can't see what I am paying for first then that tells me.......

So needless to say, we get in the truck and leave.

And we go back towards the highway to Motel 6, that doesn't have any problems with letting you see a room before paying.

Is There Anything Worse Than Terrible?

Total dump. Non smoking room was a smoking room, bedbugs in room, rude staff. Half of the complex is now an apartment complex. Probably the worst hotel  I've ever seen. I left after several hours.

Spend the extra $10 and stay down the road.
