My husband and I spent four delightful, restful nights at Rocky Point Ranch while we explored Idaho and western Montana. We stayed in "Jessie's Room" which was spacious, quiet and had a very comfortable king bed. 

After flying into Spokane, on Day One we did a bit of sightseeing in Spokane, then took a scenic drive to the ranch by way of Priest River, Idaho, traveling down Highway 200 to Thompson Falls. Day Two we drove to the Bison Range on the Flathead Reservation, hiked and saw Buffalo - as promised. Two thumbs up! From there, Patti and Sam suggested we drive to nearby Polson for lunch and enjoy Flathead Lake. Beautiful!

Day Three we drove back up Highway 200 to the small town on Noxon where I visited the cemetery and researched some ancestors who were early pioneers in the area, visiting the fabulous folks at the Cabinet Forest Rangers Office, then on to the cabin where my ancestors lived on Bull River. 

From there, again at the great suggestion of Patti and Sam, we drove to Kootenai Falls where we hiked and enjoyed the magnificent scenery and Suspension Bridge. There was just enough of a crowd to feel comfortable, but never was it annoyingly packed.  

Day Four we woke up early and drove a little over 2 hours into Glacier National Park to spend the entire day there. Yes, it was some driving, but the scenery is truly breathtaking and never got old.  Plus, it stayed light till 10 pm so we never had to drive in the dark. All this to say, there is much to do in this area and it truly felt like we could "get away from it all" and take a real vacation. Wish we could have spent more time at the ranch - would be a great place for a family reunion or a wedding. 

On the return route to Spokane, we took backroads so we were able to have a completely new route back, through Coeur d'Alene which is another cute town to explore. 

Patti and Sam are generous, helpful hosts. We hope to be back again someday soon.

Magnificent Montana

Gorgeous property along the Clark River, grassy quiet areas, lots of flowers, gazebos, picnic tables, and a beautiful deck overlooking it all. Comfortable beds, nice bathroom, good breakfasts. Hosts were friendly and quite helpful, even offered beer, wine, water or soft drinks. Wifi quite slow. No TVs or refrigerators in the rooms but available in the common areas. Antique lovers will appreciate the décor, both inside and out.

This is a wonderful out of the way bed and breakfast.  Sam and Patti make you feel very welcome in their home.  Everything was clean and breakfast was delicious.  They also took the time to recommend some amazing things for us to do and see.

A Wonderful Time

We had an excellent stay at Rocky Pt. Ranch. Sam and Patti were the perfect hosts. They offered great recommendations of places to see and eat. Our room was decorated with an attention to detail, very clean with the most comfortable king bed, and the breakfasts were delicious. We loved the beautiful setting of their home and will most definitely stay here again if we are ever in the area. Thank you for sharing your home with us.

Fantastic B & B

Love this place!  It’s absolutely gorgeous.  Way better than expected.  So glad we booked 2 nights.  Could easily spend a week or more.  If you’ve ever wanted a place to get away from the world, clear your head and meditate, this is the place.

Gorgeous Place

We booked Rocky Point Ranch for a weekend wedding venue with a small number of family and friends.  We booked the entire lodge. From the beautiful setting with mountains and river to the amazing grounds, the location cannot be beat.  Couple that with the large themed guestrooms with their own bathrooms, to the warm and welcoming great room and well-appointed kitchen and dining room, we could not have been happier.  Sam and Patti, the owners, were so accommodating and genuine.  It truly felt like we were staying at our friends house.  They allowed us to take over the whole ranch, literally!  Home-made breakfasts every morning were delicious and filling!  The scenery is spectacular and the hospitality was amazing.  Thank you Sam and Patti for making our wedding weekend a huge success!  We will be back for our 1st anniversary next year, if not sooner.

Amazing Wedding Weekend!

‪Our trip this summer to Rocky Point Ranch was such a welcome retreat. It was peaceful from the moment we pulled up to the gate and Sam and Patti are so welcoming and down-to-earth. You can tell they enjoy what they do and work very hard to make your stay a great experience. They’re available most anytime should you need something and truly care about your experience at the Ranch.‬
‪Watching the sunrise come up in the mornings is magical as are the special breakfasts they serve, you will love the “train wreck”. Sunsets are beautiful too, enjoy the quiet time sitting out on the huge deck area with a glass of wine - just magical.‬
‪This is a working ranch, a place to emerge yourself in nature with a river flowing aside the property if you enjoy fishing or water activities. 
We were there in summer and you will see various bugs etc. when walking in the mountains and forests so be sure to bring some bug spray  All the accommodations we saw had the necessities (shower, AC/Heat, towels, internet and TV). Our cell phone service (Verizon) was touch and go but we were grateful for this as it forced us to unplug. ‬
‪Our family can hand on heart say this is a great way to unwind and be close to nature without having to rough it. We highly recommend Rocky Point Ranch for the solo traveler, couple or family and we’ll definitely be back.‬

‪Peaceful‬ ‪

We stayed here as a family last year for the Sanders County Fair & Rodeo.  The accommodations and grounds were so lovely & comfortable! Sam & Patti truly welcome guests as family and their property is Big Sky Country Amazing!!! What a lovely place for a wedding, family reunion, couple's retreat, family vacation, you name it---Sam & Patti have a gorgeous B&B with a gift for hospitality!!  Patti cooks a gourmet breakfast every morning! We plan to return just for the enjoyment of staying here, even if the fair & rodeo are cancelled! This is a destination by itself! :)

Beautiful and Welcoming!!

My husband and I really enjoyed our stay at the Rocky Point Ranch on our way to Glacier National Park.  Sam and Patty were amazing hosts and met every request we made of them.  The bedrooms were beautiful. Every room is decorated in a different theme.  We stayed in the Paradise Room. The Great Room was decorated in a style we love, rustic and homey.  And the smells coming out of the kitchen were amazing as was the food.  The scenery was spectacular.  We were right on the North Fork River.  It was very relaxing. We can't say enough good things about our stay!

Amazing Weekend

Talk about an incredible stay, WOW. Sam and his wife were fantastic hosts of this phenomenal oasis in Montana. The perfect getaway along a river and isolated for a much needed escape from the city, this was by far one of the best experiences traveling. 

Not to mention the grounds are impressive, meal so delicious and well prepared and just an at-home feeling with nobody around yet close enough of a drive to town for good food, hikes and other nearby attractions. I'd recommend a few days stay at the least. 

I'll certainly be back soon and would highly recommend making this your stop while traveling to see the Cedar Forest or Koonetai Falls which were easy drives to make and back to Thompson Falls and other great destinations in this region. Montana has won me over and Rocky Point Ranch certainly is a 5-Star destination making you feel right at home!
