I found this hotel newly redecorated, very clean and an excellent value. While traveling alone, on 95 from Florida to the Adirondacks, my 8 pound Pom by my side, I pulled off in some massive traffic only to find this quality inn. Can’t say enough good. Breakfast was delicious and again a great value! I will return.

Great room great value

Our family has stayed here overnight for many year after a day on the water at nearby (30 minutes) Lake Anna.  The pool is a terrific gathering place for fun & conversation. It seems over the years that renovation is an ongoing process.  One family will get a new/newer room while another will get a room awaiting reno.  Staff is usually friendly.  Close to several fast food restaurants at the Thornburg I-95 off ramp.

Onging renovations

I just stayed here for one night to break up a longer drive on Interstate 95.  When looking for road trip hotels, I look for value and comfort.  This Quality Inn was the perfect balance.  I got a really good price and I felt the room exceeded expectations for a hotel off the highway.  The room was clean, comfortable and quiet.  I felt refreshed the next day.  I would stay again when going through this area.

Comfortable Stay

Stayed one night due to attending a race at dominion Raceway Entertainment.    Room was clean. So was the bathroom.  Motel does need updated some.  A/c wasn’t the best. But kept the room ok.  Staff was very friendly.  Didn’t make it to breakfast but seemed to look ok and good.   

Ok place to sleep 

Lobby looks nice, bed was comfortable.  Towels clean but graying.  Coffee pot didn't work, a couple of outlets and lights didn't work. Bathroom worked but definitely needs updates. Microwave worked but buttons hard to see and couldn't see the icons on its buttons. TV works but signal for viewing is snowy like you used to get with analog signal from old rooftop antenna. 

Adequate at best.

This hotel was so truly horrible that I am posting a review almost a year after we stayed there. It was literally traumatic to have stayed there and we literally should have just slept in the car (all other hotels were booked and we were too tired to keep driving). Unless other more recent reviews suggest that the accommodations have improved dramatically, I urge you not to stay here under any circumstances.

Worst hotel ever

Lobby area has been renovated but the rooms are old & not very good.  Didn't feel safe with some of other guests hanging around.  Room really needed an update.  It did appear that some new paint & bedding had been added but the rest of the room was awful.  Shower was falling apart and appliances were very outdated.  Don't expect to stay here again.  I went to get ice and the machine had mold all over it.

Old & odd!

The only redeeming quality of this hotel is that they gave me my money back without an argument. After I checked in (having to wear a mask in the lobby while the desk clerk had hers under her chin) I went to the 2nd floor to my room (no elevator). The shower was moldy, there was a musty smell in the air and the carpeting looked filthy. I drove around and found another hotel that had rooms for the night and checked out of this one. It was the best decision I ever made.

Go anywhere else

We were going to visit family in VA for the Thanksgiving Holiday but had to cancel due to COVID positive in our family.   Spoke with agent and she told us she spoke to the manager (Harry) and he stated he cant refund our money even though we cancelled well in advance.  Also saw the there was a no refund HOWEVER due to the extenuation circumstances would of like some compassion and or compensation for a later stay.  NEITHER of which occurred.  Stay away from this hotel chain since they cannot or will not honor the real Covid pandemic like most businesses are willing to do

Choice Hotels has thrown me some disappointments lately. But let’s start with the positive:

-Cheap rates
-Bathroom in room looked recently renovated, as does the lobby
-WiFi worked really well
-They’re offering a better breakfast selection than a lot of places are these days - basically it’s their standard breakfast minus the hot options 

Now the not-so-positive:

-TV in my room had a blue line running down the middle of the screen
-Remote didn’t work, even after asking for new batteries at the desk
-I found a bag full of trash in the cabinet by the mini-fridge
-Cleanliness was lacking in general 
-There were exposed wires where the smoke detector should have been. I later found the smoke detector in the closet, meaning previous guests smoked in the room. Speaking of smoking, the guest next door was sitting in his doorway smoking all evening long. This was the deal-breaker for me and the difference between one star and two stars. 

This is an older property with exterior rooms. They definitely need to put some work into cleaning and maintenance.
