Sequoia Motel

Three Rivers

The motel is very close to Sequoia NP. The owner is very nice and also suggested a good restaurant. The rooms are okay and clean. We only stayed there one night. If you were looking for defects now, it would be hard to find one.

Well located motel

Adorable, older hotel as close to Sequoia as you can get. Don't expect a 5 star experience, but this is clean and safe. You do get coffee, a small fridge, and a lovely owner to chat with. :) If you can't stay IN the park, stay here! 

Family owned

My husband and I stayed at the Sequoia Motel in Three Rivers, CA to be close to Sequoia National Park. The location was perfect, only 4 miles from the park entrance.  Our room was clean with fairly new renovations. Chris greeted us as we drove in and quickly got us registered. She was ready with restaurant suggestions and offered other local information.  The description of the motel said limited water and limited internet.  There was plenty of water.  We didn’t need or miss the internet.   I would recommend the Sequoia Motel especially if you don’t mind basic accommodations. It wasn’t fancy, but it was very adequate. The swimming pool was clean.  We were told to be aware of the “meat bees” when eating outside. I had no idea what a meat bee was, but had a rude introduction to them when I was swarmed as soon as my roasted chicken arrived.  The bees didn’t bother my husband’s food but wouldn’t leave mine alone.  We had to move inside to finish our meal.  All in all we had a fabulous time visiting the Giant Forest...at which I felt like a hobbit!  Sequoia Motel is a great place to stay!

Weekend getaway

We called late during a busy season to book and the place I called first was full but recommended this place.  I'm not sure the curb appeal does it justice. The owners have done an outstanding job loving this place. The rooms are updated, clean, comfortable and nicely decorated. The shower is very nice. The location is perfect.  The grounds are lovingly cared for.  I would definitely go back!!

A little gem

To drive from this Motel to Sequoia National Park Giant Forest Museum is about 1 hour.  One of the closest unless you do camping.

The owners of this motel are very friendly.  Place in general is clean but don’t expect too much if you are used to high end hotels in big cities.

Lighting in room is quite dim, but if you are just hiking in the park and sleep here, it probably doesn’t matter.  There’s no study table.  WiFi doesn’t exist in the room.  You have to stand in front of the office to get decent signal.

Shower room is very small.  If you are big and tall, you might have trouble with showering.

Outside the motel is a garden.  See pictures.  There’s a swimming pool but too cold to use.  Maybe summer ok.

There are chairs and table outside each room, so you can sit outside and relax if you want.  See pics.  Plenty of parking space.

Entrance to motel is very tricky at a road curve.  Be careful!

There’s a small fridge inside but no microwave.

Decent place to stay near Sequoia National Park

The Sequoia Motel is a throw back to the mid 20th century. It’s pleasant enough for what it is, a family run roadside motel close to the south entrance of Sequoia National Park. It has three major flaws. First there is no wi-fi in the rooms. Wi-fi is supposedly available outside the motel office. I mean literally OUTSIDE in the open air. We didn’t bother. Secondly the are no refrigerators in the rooms. That’s not so bad we always bring a cooler. But get this, there’s no ice machine! Ice packs are available at the office. We bought ice instead.
So yeah, the place was OK but it’s 2018 not the 1960’s.

A little behind the times

We stayed at the Seqoai Motel in Three Rivers, a very friendly place a 30 min. ride from Sequoia Park,  It's rustic yet perfect for the area, nice family restrauant near by with good food.  A nice pool and sitting area outside, we enjoyed sitting there in the morning before the temp. went up.

Sequoia visit

We went for a weekend Visit to Sequoia and planned to stay at this Motel for two days.. It was Very Nice and Quiet, it was also Clean, and had Beautiful Views of the Mountains and Green trees Everywhere.   We saw  Wild Deer and lots of Wild Turkeys roaming Everywhere, which was very nice for our kids to experience.  They also had a small coffee pot and coffee and tea. so it was nice in the morning to make fresh coffee. We will definitely go back again. 

Cozy and Clean!

The motel is very well located, not too far from the park exit, a little off the road and a swimming pool is available. Chris, the owner, at the reception is charming and very helpful which saves the stay. Otherwise, we stop there, the room is a room with dust, spider webs and even an old pen visible there for a while under the bedside table. The air conditioning is particularly noisy and blows on the legs at night, the shower doesn't flow properly. The Wi-Fi: forget it, but all the while, it's not bad. The overall cleanliness of the room is really the most regrettable point of this establishment.

welcoming doesn't do everything

I enjoyed it for rest, excellent, quiet, comfortable and clean.Good wifi connection, well equipped kitchen, very spacious space.I recommend it 100% wish I had been there for 1 night but I'll definitely be back 😁
