We stayed at Adventures on the Gorge because we were in town for Bridge Day.  It was very convenient to stay there and be in close proximity to the Taste of the Gorge event and to have access to the shuttle service to the bridge.  We also did a river rafting trip with Adventures on the Gorge.  It was great . . . and very convenient that it left from on-site building.    Overall wonderful experience!!     . . . . and it was GREAT that we had a dog-friendly cabin.

Weekend of Adventure

STOKED! We did the lower gauley river trip on 10-14-23 and had an absolute blast! So much so that we will be back in the spring time to raft again. Shout out to Brian Goodson on being an excellent guide! Brian went above and beyond to ensure we had the best time we could while staying safe! As a fellow business owner in the customer service industry, having excellent employees are hard to come by and Brian exceeds those expectations. Give that guy a pay raise, he absolutely killed it! 

The cabin we stayed in was great for 4 guys, very clean and a great location to resort activities.
The food at Smokeys was great, as well as the drinks! The bath houses were very clean and well maintained.  

Lower Gauley Trip

We rented multiple cabins and all of them were clean and very nice.  
If you want to sleep in the downstairs bed, bring your own step stool to get up into the bed.  They are very high, and unless you are a monkey, you are going to have trouble getting in it!

Super nice cabins!

Spent a wild and wonderful four days at Adventures on the Gorge. Our cabin was convenient to restaurants and trips yet seemed secluded with the wooded backdrop. The hot tub was much needed after a day of zip lining, fishing, or white water rafting. The staff and guides were fun, friendly, and always professional. The restaurants offer a wide range of dining experiences from Wagyu Beef outside on a beautiful deck to a lively pub experience with wings and local craft brews. The Adventures were awesome from white water rafting to zip lining to fly fishing. There is not a more stunning location than the New River Gorge and the Gauley. After your trip to Adventures on the Gorge, you'll be making plans for the next one - guaranteed.

Fabulous Trip to Adventures on the Gorge

The place and grounds were amazing! Cabins were clean, neat and very comfortable king size bed! Spacious rooms, nice deck to sit on in the mornings and evenings. The individual fire pits were a nice touch for an evening fire.  The Adventures on the Gorge staff were friendly and helpful for any need that we had. 

Adventures On the Gorge

Adventures on the Gorge exceeded our expectations with the cleanliness and the cabin set up. The location is spectacular, right on the rim on the New River Gorge. The views are breath taking. The staff is very friendly. LORD willing, we will be making additional trips to the Gorge.

Great Location and Staff

We stayed for three nights in a one bedroom Outback Cabin.  It was off season so we had the place to ourselves.  The Outback cabin with hot tub was a very pleasant stay.  Spent our days hiking and our nights relaxing in the cabin.  Very comfortable accommodations.

New River Gorge Hiking Adventure

We love AOTG! This was our 2nd time staying, and we brought family with us. They also loved it! It is so relaxing, fun, and perfect for us! We will be back in the summer to enjoy all the activities! We can't wait to go back!

My fiance and I have been coming to AOTG for several years and have loved every visit! We started vacationing here the year we started dating, and now we love bringing our toddler (and have another on the way!). 
We have stayed in the one bedroom Outback Cabins which are incredible and we have also camped on different occasions. Everyone is always very friendly and helpful and truly go above and beyond to ensure you have a great stay. 
There are so many activities and the guides are awesome. 
Really can't recommend this place enough!

Couldn’t recommend staying at AOTG enough let alone the white water rafting experience - October is a beautiful time to see the beauty that the Gorge provides (don’t worry about being cold - just get a wetsuit!). I can’t wait to come again!
