This is a fine, inexpensive hotel. I had a scheduling problem, and they were fantastic in helping to resolve it. Reception was pleasant and check-in easy. The room was clean, well maintained, and sufficiently quiet. We had a double room that was perfect - essentially two rooms with a shared bathroom.  The rooms use real keys, so don’t forget to drop them off when checking out. I will definitely stay here again when I’m next in Tillamook. I highly recommend it as a place to sleep when visiting the area, especially for fishermen.

Fine, high value place to stay

I booked this room on Hotels.com and the pictures looked good. Once we got to the room though, it did not match the pictures. It was ugly and plain, and repairs done to trim and doors was messy. I went back to the front desk and showed her the pics of what was advertised, and she and another co-worker said "Oh, that's Mohammed's suite upstairs!" (Apparently Mohammed is the owner) They also had a photo cube on the main desk with photos rotating on it of the same suite! They both said "we need to tell him to take these photos off the websites and the picture cube!" We couldn't wait to get out of there.

Ugly and false advertising

I had to reply to the 😫 “Filthy Place!” June 2022 review. Gee, why not drop a Nuclear bomb & blow up this 🏨 hotel?  YOUR failur to “plan ahead” is NOT the fault of anyone else but YOU!  YOUR being a cheapskate is YOUR choice by paying 1/2 to 1/3 LESS of a  per night Reservation than most other Hotels/Motels along the Oregon coast, from Astoria, OR. down south through Seaside, Cannon Beach, Manzanita, Tillamook.  You can ALWAYS find a 🏨 Hotel Room for $250-$400night + tax!  YOU chose (like my wife & I) to be frugal. SHAME on YOU!   YOUR decision to drive 12 hours in 1 day. No wonder you & your rightly infuriated girlfriend we’re tired, exhausted, angry 😡🤬😤😡🤬😖😠🤬😡 with each other (especially YOU!) and the 🌎🌍🌏🌎 World!  You LIE when you say “I couldn’t get another place last minute…” Cheap, angry fool that you are!!! Anyone can find “…another place.”  But, at a much higher rate per night.  You LIE when you say “…after driving over 11 hours, so we had to stay here.” NO. You did NOT have to stay “here” or anywhere else! YOU CHOSE a perfectly good 👍 bargain rate hotel and it was due to YOUR “birthday girlfriend’s” ruined 😡 expectations by YOUR cheapness and failure to plan an appropriate itinerary (adults & professionals do that!) ruined YOUR unrewarded expectations that night & the balance of your trip.  I would leave tou “in a New York minute!”   
My review: Western Royal 👸 👑🤴👑 Inn, Tillamook, OR has friendly, helpful, hard working employees. I’m leaving a $10.00 tip in our room). Clean & spotless everything. Coffee ☕️  packets w/☕️maker & microwave &  cable TV 📺 & A/C worked flawlessly. My wife & I luxuriated in Shower 🚿  & Bathtub 🛀🛁.  Location is excellent. Minutes drive from Supermarkets, 2 cheese 🧀 factories w/sample gratis & Tillamook. 
Lastly, THIS 🏨🏩🏨 is only 67 miles from Portland, OR (our last stop 🛑, after touring MT HOOD, Mt St Helen’s & Mt Rainier in WA.;
then Astoria, Seaside, Manzanet & Tillamook in Oregon.  Tomorrow, we ✈️🛫🛬✈️ fly to LAX for lunch & dinner with friends for 2 days at Redondo Beach, CA.
$239./night. Then, 12 AUG my wife & I ✈️🛫🛬🛩 back to JFK / NYC.   Western Royal Inn, Tillamook is a VERY pleasant, clean 🧼 🧽🧹🧺 & spotless “stay”.  LTC/CDR (Ret.) & Attorney (Ret.)

Excellent budget motel. Basic decor, but clean, refrig is cold, and somewhat-hard mattress was exactly what we needed. Staff is friendly and got us checked in quickly. Large room with comfy couch. Heater worked quickly. I recommend this motel.

Very good budget motel

This place looks NOTHING like the photos. Based on the nice photos and reviews, I booked this place for part of my girlfriends birthday trip. It totally broke my heart when I saw the look on her face upon entry into our room. I couldn't get another place last minute and we were exhausted after driving over 11 hours, so we had to stay here. I have stayed at places ranging from Travelodge or Motel 6 to The Four Seasons. Although the front office staff was very nice, this was the worst place I have ever stayed at. 

1. The carpets were stained in several places (see photos) and the bottom of my white socks turned dark brown after walking on the floor. This is how I test cleanliness.
2. Both beds were hard and had large dents in the middle, indicating the mattresses need to be replaced.
3. The linens on the bed had mysterious stains on them and a few short black hairs in them. 
4. There were large black spiders on the ceiling and flying insects in the room. We discovered there was a large opening in the bedroom window screen which we covered. I suffered from several itchy bug bites on my exposed legs. Thankfully, I brought my Ivarest!
5. There is a microwave sitting on top of the bathroom sink area which left barely enough room for one of our toiletries. 
6. The bathroom tub has blackened sticky pads which should be replaced or cleaned. The oil stains and dead skin from dirty feet causes these antislip mats to turn black. These mats should be cleaned with something like R.O.G.3 
7. The bathroom smells like sewage backed up. The stench was so bad, my eyes started to water. I went out and bought some spray bleach which helped to mask the smell long enough for us to take a shower. 
8. The TVs had exposed wiring and receiver boxes. This is unsightly. 
9. The laundry room: floors were so filthy (see photos) and there was a box of opened spaghetti, books, plastic hangers and misc items. The dryer filter is very old and needs to be replaced. After a heavy wash cycle our small load of clothes had so much laundry detergent on it, we had to rinse it by hand before putting the load into the dryer. After 70 minutes of drying time on high setting, our socks were still damp! 
10. I woke up with various itchy bug bites all over my exposed legs! Thankfully, I had Ivarest. Sad I had to use it after spending a night in a motel room and not on any of our recent backpacking trips. 

I am writing this honest review in hopes that management will make necessary repairs and improvements. Also, I am hoping management will at least provide a partial refund to make it up to us. I am a hard worker and saved up for this place rather than spend another night camping.

Filthy place!

The room was filthy and could not even sit on the chairs in the room. The shower did not work and i spent the night looking for bed bugs. tried to complain but the office was closed, so i sent an email and got the response thanks for telling us, with no compensation. The room smelled so bad of smoke and other strange odors we could hardly stand it. Would never recommend this place to anyone and i wouldn't let my dogs stay there. Like i said in the title run away as fast as you can...

The place is simple, clean and comfortable. Staff is very friendly, helpful and competent. Could not ask for more. We surely will return and stay again when we are in the area. I see they are updating and remodeling as well, the upkeep is nice to see..

Always a good stay

My gentleman friend I stayed here on Sunday, 27 September.  It was reasonably priced and had a pleasant exterior with nice hanging flower baskets. The couple at the front desk, the owners or managers-I’m not sure which, were very welcoming and had a sense of humor. The young lady who later took over for them was able to give us an excellent recommendation for a local restaurant, which was very helpful. The room was spacious, but we both thought the bed was too hard/firm.  It was difficult to get comfortable.  It was like a lot of the Motel 6 beds.....like a board.  There was plenty of hot water and water pressure.  The access to the parking lot is a little odd and if you have a larger vehicle, like a 4-door pick up, it may be a bit tight.  All in all, not bad, and if we are ever in the area, we may stay there again.  Pretty good value, in today’s world.

Sleepy time!

I do not understand the very negative reviews I have read.   This place was a great value place to spend the night.   I thought it was cute when we pulled up with blue paint and hanging flower baskets all over.  Place was packed also.   Room was VERY clean, had laminate flooring instead of carpeting which I love.   Very spacious.  Would stay here again.

Would never go there place is so bad should not be in business the cars the are people that live there never stay there would not use dirty bathroom or even take shoes off never go there you can not remodel by painting old Furniture
