STAY AWAY!   We were told this was pet friendly.  That is if you know them.  Couldn't even get breakfast without a phone call saying your dog is barking come take care of it.  Meanwhile upon returning a lady is sitting outside our room chatting it up on the phone with her dogs right there and I'm supposed to quiet my dog.....I heard it was sold and I hope they tear it down and get rid of those people!

Would give a zero if I could. Condescending staff. Told “I wasn’t a good fit for their hotel” to stay as a guest but then supplied me with room rates.   I was trying to book a hotel that wasn’t on hotels.com or one of those sites to help a small business out during COVID times but now will be going elsewhere for vacation.  Reviews seemed dog friendly but with that email response I wouldn’t trust bringing my family or pet there.

Terrible.

My partner and I had an excellent weekend here at the inn. We loved being greeted my Chuckie the cat on our way to the front desk to check in. The receptionist was super friendly. The room was nice, spacious and clean. I like to get up early and sit on the beach and was pleasantly surprised to see the owner with Chuckie and have them both offer me a cup of coffee. These folks speak my language! The only minor issue that we had was that the room was a little too humid for our liking. We kept the air conditioner on for most of the day to fix this. But hey, it was no big deal. This place is a great blend of location, amenities and value! We would definitely book again.

Excellent Weekend

Having stayed here many times for many years, I find it is always my “ go to “ place at the beach- which is less than a five minute walk away.

Not only are the rooms pristine, the AC, refrigerator, and microwave are always in perfect working condition.

The staff, from the very friendly owner, Tim ( often on sight), to the wonderful Todd with his adorable kitty, Chucky, to the lovely Debbie, at the reception desk make each visit memorable and special.

Unusual , for today’s world, the other guests are affable- often with their pets- and friendly conversations about dolphin spottings, the best crab cakes , and the best happy hours are common occurrences.

This is the truly — the best of the beach!

Wonderful staff; friendly fellow guests-THE BEST OF THE BEACH!!!

Since our first stay here in 2015 we have quickly come to consider this our second home when in Dewey and the owner & his amazing staff are like our extended family. You won't find a more pet friendly hotel in town, they even put your pet's name on the door. The beds are super comfy and the rooms are large and spacious not to mention quiet, you would never know that Coastal Hwy is more feet away. There's a large deck on the second floor with lounge chairs & tables for all the guests to enjoy, an outdoor shower and they even have beach towels for your dog to borrow. Yes, the hotel is a bit dated but who comes to the beach to hang out in a room? We love being about 100 yards from the beach and right across the street is an area on the bay we can take our dog to swim plus enjoy the new lighthouse cove boardwalk. Every year when we check out in October I book our room for all our stays the following year, we can't imagine sharing the sunsets with anyone besides Tim, Todd, JB, Deb & Chuckie (the hotel cat).

This is the second time we've booked at Bellbuoy.  Close to the main highway in Dewey, but also just a 1/2 block walk to the ocean.  Nothing fancy but we love it.  They have a couple of cats that we enjoy too.  And a great upstairs deck to sit and enjoy the weather.


Bellbuoy Fun

My husband and I checked into the BellBuoy on 8/21/19 for a two night stay.  While the hotel is older and in need of updating our room was fine. The shower had plenty of hot water, the room was clean, the bed was comfortable, the AC worked well, and the staff was very pleasant and friendly. The location is perfect - so close to the beach with many restaurants within walking distance.  We had no issues with our stay.  

No Frills Hotel Just Steps from the Beach

Came in thinking that it was going to be clean yet old which is fine . So we come in and there is a weathin under the bed and a popcorn kernel which means that they didn’t do any cleaning before us. The worst is when we came in the stench was disgusting! Smelt like a mixture of body Oder and mold! When you were in the room you felt damp because of how dirty it felt in there. After only staying there for about 5 hours we woke up the next morning leaving because we couldn’t anymore. When we were leaving I checked the mattress and there was a big stain of I don’t what but just got a dirty vibe. To top that the staff was very rude in the middle of the night screaming at us saying “ I don’t get paid enough for this” me thinking in my head then why are you even working here. I recommend not staying here at all .

BELL EWWY

Ive never experienced something so terrible in all my years of visiting establishments. I called the front office at 6am for the wifi password. First time I called he mumbled something and then hung up on me. I thought it was a dropped line so I called back.
"WHAT!!!???" He said when he picked up the phone the 2nd time. 
"THE PASSWORD IS ----DAMMIT!!!! OFFICE OPENS AT 8!!" then hangs up on me. I'm still in shock by what transpired. I'm a morning person. Plus I wanted to see the sunrise at the beach. Should it be an issue to call  the front desk of a HOTEL at 6:30? I'm thinking of also writing to the BBB. Businesses just can't curse out their customers. Something is clearly wrong with this hotel. 
No Phones. Found a couple bugs on bed but maybe its bc its a beach I dunno. This is my first time ever going to a beach. I'm still here another day. I got to try and put the ugliness and unprofessionally of the staff behind me and just try to enjoy the rest of my vacation

Yes stay here if you want to be cursed out by Management

Love it there. No frills but very quaint, friendly. Love the staff, very accommodating. The location is perfect to walk to the beach or anywhere in town. When we got there the owner(Tim) helped us carry things to our room, honered my daughter's request to have flowers and champagne in my room for my birthday. We have stayed there at least nine times and always enjoyed the time. Love the deck to join others for cocktails or coffee in the mornings.
