We stay in the Treasure Island area at least once a year. We found this place last year during our Christmas vacation and it is amazing. You can watch the dolphins swim by from the balcony in the morning and as the sun sets. We will always return here. No, the decor is not perfect and it is outdated but the view is amazing, the staff is very friendly and it is comfortable. Our family of 5 stayed in a 1 bedroom because we wanted the gulf front. It was cramped but we had everything we needed. The balcony is pure paradise. These are the BEST prices on the beach in Treasure Island and the view alone is worth more than you will pay. If you are expecting a 5 star resort....please go book one and leave this modestly priced, beautiful little gem alone. You can find big corporation owned resorts and prices down the road! Beautiful!

Recently stayed at Nordvind condo's in Treasure island Florida. My family and I had the 2 bedroom 2 bath. There are two of these in one building. The other building has one bedrooms and sit right on the beach. We were on the beach just sitting back a bit. Steve and Amanda run the rental property and are always accommodating. We have rented here for about 10 plus years. July and September months are when we usually come. The Nordvind sits right across the street from Gators a GREAT restaurant and across from John's Pass shopping and eating center.  Just a walk away for both. Easy to get around as it is on Gulf Blvd. Publix groc store is down the road. Walgreens liquor is also. The beach is very nice. Nordvind has chairs and blowups u can use for the beach. They cook hot dogs for lunch on Wednesday.  They have a really nice grilling area right off from the pool with ocean view. We used for steak and shrimp night. 
The rooms are always being updated. We had new furniture this time. There are plates utensils and cookware. Washer and dryer. Some things are a bit worn....like the ice maker did not work....we just went and bought bags.  For the price we pay to stay there I will not complain about small minute things. We had no bugs. We did have red tide...but not the Nordvind fault. It came the day we got there. We all still had a great time and look forward to going back next year.
So if u are looking for a great affordable place on the beach within walking distance of many places. This is it!!

Great place to stay!!

Staff very helpful. Close to beach .  Rooms little dated but clean. Close to Johns Pass and other restaurants. Clean beach. Laundry facilities convenient. Quiet in evenings. No loud parties. Pitch in mid week very nice. 

Vacation great time.

Although the building is a little dated, it is clean and presentable. Clean sheets, towels, dishcloths were supplied. The pool was well kept as were the surrounding areas. Chairs are available to take down to the beach.

Close to shopping

Just returned from Nordvind Resort with my wife. We always look to say something positive. So, location is good, you can go to Johns Pass in 10minutes walking. If you like to fish, just a few yards from your doorstep. Office folk were accommodating. so far so good. Oh and if you want to stay on the beach, it was affordable. Now for the tough part. It is so dated, which I don't understand. If they would put some effort into it it could be a nice place. It isn't. Pool was dirty, grounds were in need of some serious landscaping. Needed a step ladder to get in and out of the shower. Good water pressure though. Wasn't terribly clean and had a $300 dollar camp bed (what we call a weekend bed) when you don't want company to stay more than the weekend. The worst  thing was how the glass front doors rattled and howled. You have to stay there to understand. It was awful. The wind would blow the sliding doors and the blinds would rattle. The noise would keep you up all-night. The balcony chairs were so rusted out on the legs we had to lay them down because they rocked in the wind and made a horrible racket. To some it all up, my wife has told me from now on she will pick the accommodations. The "resort" has promise but I wouldn't recommend it to anyone until they put some serious coin into it to update it.

This resort has lots of potential if owners would spend money on it. The view from the balcony is awesome, however, it needs new furniture. The couch looks dirty. The unit was clean. No enough towels are provided considering they don't provide beach towels. There is only one washer in third floors and is very old. They don't have enough staff. Only two people who have to do everything. A little bit of money will make the resort first class. The location is excellent and the view from balcony is incredible. They could charge a lot more if they upgraded the place. The beach is very nice.

Nordvnd resotrt in Treasure Island, FL

The views were beautiful from the balcony and it was within easy walking distance to shopping and restaurants. That being said the place was a dump, there was rarely anyone in the office to help you, and our room was old and dated.  The kitchen formica was chipped and our dishwasher would not drain. We were woken up at midnight by someone pounding on the door yelling they needed to come in, they didn't identify themselves or say why. It scared us to death, finally he told us our dishwasher was overflowing into the unit below us.  When the maintenance man came the next day he said we used the wrong kind of soap which was all that was left for us  and just run it and it would be fine.  When we ran it, it still wouldn't drain. The bathroom was moldy and the toilet seat had poop on the back of the seat. The place smelled clean but it obviously was not! The mattress was so old, a mattress topper had been provided but it was worthless.  Our backs hurt every morning.  People would come in off the beach and party in the pool and the hot tub until the wee hours of the morning. We ended our trip early!

Old and dated

This place was old and smelled of mold.  It was clean but kind of creepy feeling.  The pool and view of the gulf and inter coastal waterways were incredible, extraordinary.  There was just a lot of stuff downstairs that looked messy and not clean.

Birthday weekend

We stayed her in January. We notified the manager that we were going to be arriving later than the office was open, he stated he would leave a key in the lockbox. No key was left. After calling and trying multiple times to get ahold of them, we gave up and stayed a night somewhere else. We drove over 20 hours with a 1 year old and we’re ready to sleep when we arrived. After we had already arrived and checked in to a different place, the manager called and said he was there and our room was ready. We told him we had already paid for a different room and he said to come talk to him about what we were going to do for the night we didn’t stay. It’s now March and I have left MULTIPLE messages for the manager and have never received a refund or even a call back!!! Don’t waste your money. The place itself was not bad, but this situation made it awful…worst customer service and communication. 

Don’t stay here

DISGUSTING, FILTHY, everything bad you can imagine   Rooms had not been updated since it was built in the 80's     Dirt and hair in every corner   Blinds get falling off  Worst place we have ever stayed  Unbelievably horrible
