We were thrilled with this ranch. We have been to others but this is the largest, though there were only 47the night we arrived, don't think it got much beyond it the week we were there. The next week was booked solid. The horses were good. Wranglers placed you in order so one horse didn't outwalk or outrun another. Sooo nice. Food was fantastic. Buffet and always choices- small ranches don't always offer that. Very organized.We got one horse for the whole week. 5/6 of us liked our mounts. One friend asked to change- and they did. Entertainment of some sort every night. And no bell at 7am to awaken you. You did have to sign up. Don't think it was ever a problem for the horse rides but bikes did fill up. Fast and slow rides, cattle sorting and penning. No real cattle drives. We had a fantastic time and booked the same week for next year. Been to 7-8 ranches this is our first repeat.

Super place

This is one of the best dude ranches in this country. Please do not go consider going there as it might spoil our time there. No kidding, it is a great place for family fun. If you have a love of horses and the old west, you do not want to miss this.

Third year girls trip to the Ranch.  I would highly recommend a visit.  The accommodations are lovely, the staff is friendly and very helpful, the riding and the wranglers are wonderful.  It's a lovely lovely property for a relaxing and as eventful as you'd like visit. I guarantee you'll want to return!

A wonderful trip!

This place knows how to do things!  A very experienced horseman was among our group of friends who visited this ranch.  His knowledge regarding horses endorsed our first impressions of how well the horses are cared for, the quality of the wranglers, and the quality of the entire operation.  Every person that we met from the front desk clerks to the wranglers and all in between treated us with such respect, helpfulness, and kindness as if we were all honored guests.  We participated in so many activities from painting to riding, to archery, black powder, climbing, fantastic breakfast rides or meeting the group at the riders at the breakfast spot, to the wonderful meals served on the patio or in the dining room, the awesome pool for cooling down, the yoga class, and talked with the kind ladies at the gift shop.   I know I am not thinking of everything as I write this.  We also booked and paid a nominal charge for a great jeep tour of the desert on the ranch and our tourguide was Kurt from Traildust tours.  That was also fantastic!   Worth every penny.   We did our tour with Kurt and carried the things we learned from him as we went to other places on our trip through Arizona.  Thank you White Stallion Ranch!  Your attention to detail and to making your guests feel relaxed and special will always be remembered.  A special thank you to the wranglers who help older and less agile riders mount and dismount with ease and make us feel young again!

A highlight of our trip to Arizona... could have stayed more than 4 nights and still had more to do.

I really thought the White Stallion would have been amazing considering all the great reviews but I was bored, disappointed and not at all amazed.  I've been to numerous wonderful guest ranches in Wyoming, Montana, Colorado and overseas as well but had never visited Arizona so figured I would give it a try.  I will say the rooms were very nice and comfortable and clean and the young girl Ricky in reception was friendly and knew her stuff and two wranglers, Hunter and Michael, were great and not to point any fingers but a few of the other wranglers could really use some lessons in customer service and just being friendly and perhaps smile once in a while. That's really all the good things I have to say about White Stallion.  If you are a serious rider or even just a somewhat serious rider who wants to improve and get in some great rides, White Stallion is not for you.  The rides have way too many guests with one wrangler to deal with up to 20 folks and horses.  It's only and always nose to tail and we were told don't even think about riding side by side when the terrain permitted and we were only walking or risk getting scolded by a wrangler who seemed to get joy from acting like "the boss" which most of us who are experienced riders found quite comical.  They do have loping/cantering rides but with 15 to 20 guests, those in the back were lucky to get in a few "fast" steps and after a while a lot of guests were frustrated and just gave up.  I understand the need for the ranch to be careful because folks can get hurt if they don't know what they are doing or even if they are pros there's always a risk being on a horse but much smaller groups of those with the same experience would have made our trail rides much more fun and enjoyable.  

The food that was served was plentiful but for the most part, sad looking and not at all tasty.  I think some of that is the fact that this ranch is massive and can have over 120 guests at a time and I'm use to places that have at the most 25, so everything just tasted mass produced and not at all inviting to eat.  The breakfasts were decent but the lunches and dinners were nothing to write home about.

I think White Stallion would be great for families with young children.  Lots of activities geared towards children and most evening activities seemed to have been for young kids but for an adult or even a teenager who loves riding, I can't recommend this ranch.  I can recommend loads others and have already made plans to visit a couple next year.  


Not for the serious or even the semi-serious rider

I really wanted to love this ranch as much as most people who come here do but it had issues. First on the pro side, the landscape is just beautiful and they offer many activities to choose from.
On the con side, the front desk gentleman was not service oriented nor personable in any way. Two of the wranglers were good but one my husband rode with, never introduced herself  and seemed not into her job. On a walking ride there were two accidents. One person fell off when the saddle was not tight enough and another person fell off when the horse fell. The wranglers response to the second fall was a curse word.
       We are experienced riders and have horses at home but I did not feel safe riding here.

Lovely landscape but had staff issues

I’ve loved the White Stallion ever since I first visited in 1968. The ranch has been owned and operated by the True family for decades, and they are present daily working and welcoming their guests.

You get to experience slow and fast horse rides up into the picturesque mountains, cattle penning and splitting, breakfast and wine/cheese rides, and a real rodeo.
I particularly enjoyed being able to ride and bond with the same horse every day.

Other activities on the ranch include rifle and pistol shooting, archery, desert outings on e-bikes, arts and crafts,  swimming, and spa services to relax and recover! 
There are plenty of activities for children including riding, basketball, a wonderful petting zoo, playground, and a lovely game room.

The meals are wholesome, varied, and quite good considering  they are feeding a whole colony of guests. I particularly enjoyed having full board, and not having to search for a restaurant each night. Every evening after dinner there was entertainment ranging from star gazing, a  looping show, and a singing cowboy around a campfire.

The rooms are quite comfortable, clean, and generally quiet - except the night we heard anguished cow cries. We learned the next day that the calves had been weaned and separated from their moms. Poor babies!!
Other than that, it was always a joy to wake up, open the blinds, and see the  horses waiting for us… hoping to get a treat!

A real wild west experience!

Slay

The initial goal of my trip to Tucson was to explore Saguaro National Park.  I found White Stallion Ranch while looking for places to stay near the park.  This was also my first solo vacation and I was a bit nervous.  I am also a pescatarian - a potential challenge for a ranch but not here.  I had delicious options available to me at every meal. 

My stay turned out to be the experience of a lifetime. The rugged beauty is matched by the warm, welcoming atmosphere and incredible attitude of everyone who works there. I understand why people return year after year - some have been returning for decades!

I enjoyed daily rides, archery, target shooting, e-bike touring, hiking and a FABULOUS massage (thank you, Shane). As a beginner rider, I felt completely comfortable and safe.  My favorite evening activity was line dancing.  For a solo traveler, this turned out to be the perfect destination.  Couples, families, groups and other singles invited me to hang out and share meals. 

Did I mention that I already booked my return stay for 2024?

Fantastic all inclusive guest ranch

White Stallion was an excellent ranch to visit. Loved all the activities. Everyone there was so helpful and very nice. The food was excellent. I loved all the trail rides we went on. I also meant a lot of very nice guests. The team penning, shooting range, e bikes and archery was very fun. At night the activities were also fun. Loved the line dancing, roper show, critter show, star gazing and singing cowboy. Very fun and memorable experience.
