We stopped here again so we could go down a part of Historic Route 66.  Patty greeted us and we had the same room as before, which makes one feel at home.  As usual, the place is spotless.  We really want a clean room and a clean bath.  This has both.  

2nd time here

Stayed one night, booked reservation for total ~$60 on the econolodge website. Check in staff friendly. Room was clean and quiet, ac was on and room cool when I arrived,  which was a nice touch for a late afternoon weat facing room in 95°F NM.

Floor was not carpet, no hard water gunk in shower or bath. Bathroom clean, but the room had the small cadet round bowl toilet (take away a star for that and the nose level shower head).  

The mattress was a firm one, which I preferred.  Mini fridge (worked!) and microwave in room.

Breakfast was OK, hard boiled eggs, biscuits and gravy, waffle maker, cereal milk juice coffee.  

Added plus was the commercial meat locker grade AC unit in the room...

Recommended.

Clean. Quiet. Comfortable. Value Priced 

Older but nice place. Friendly staff. Housekeeping discovered I forgot my pillow and chased us down in the parking lot to return it!  We would definitely stay here again. Nothing but smiles from the staff and a military discount too.

Would stay again

The check-in service was good.  The place was somewhat run-down, but not horrible.  We stayed on a Friday night and being spring break week, most hotels in the area were full.  The room was clean.  Since it is inexpensive, it is probably worth the money.  The neighborhood was somewhat run-down as well.

Acceptable Stay

Good stop on road trip. Easy in/out. Older place and some road noise, but not too much. Just what you find on this strip of highway. Nice staff. Best part - they've replaced carpet in the rooms with vinyl wood flooring. Feels so much cleaner.

The price was right and this was a quick stop to get some rest. Breakfast was good. Room was clean and everything worked didn't need a whole lot. Staff were nice and helpful. Easy in and out location. Plenty of parking

Clean, okay for the money. Tub was slippery.  No coffee in room. Don't know about breakfast, left early. Other restaurants are close by so no problem. Air conditioning worked great. Had no other issues.

Clean, okay for the money

We would definitely stay again. Econo Lodge Tucumcari is the best deal we've gotten in a long time.  It's an old hotel but our room was clean and comfortable. Our room had vinyl flooring that feels so much cleaner than carpet. Fixtures were dated but working just fine. Room-darkening curtains kept the room dark and cozy. The guy at the front desk was friendly and efficient.  The reason I am giving 4 instead of 5 stars is because we could hear every step our upstairs neighbors took. Not much the hotel can do about that because I would rather have clean vinyl floors than carpet.  Don't be afraid of the cheap price.

Cheap, Clean, Comfortable 

We pulled in on a Sunday afternoon. The lady at the front desk was really nice. The hotel was quiet, the room was large, clean and comfortable. The Wi-Fi worked well and the breakfast was a typical hotel breakfast, but still good. The price was very good. If we come back to the area we would stay here again. Recommend it. 

Great place to stay

I booked this stay when driving from Chicago to Phoenix trying to stay with the Choice Hotels brand. This particular Econolodge does not belong in the Choice Hotels brand!  The motel appears run down, with a long closed Denny’s in the same parking lot. My room had a problem with the toilet that would not flush so I went back to the desk and asked for another room. Instead the “live in” manager came up with a plunger. Next morning same problem!!!  Breakfast was non existent so decided to drive a few miles to McDonalds. Room is run down and I found two roach type bugs crawling around while I was there. I noticed that further into town there are several very nicely renovated Route 66 motels that were full of guests. They also advertise much cheaper room rates. I will never stay at this Econolodge again. It needs to shut down just like the Denny’s did.
