Clean.  + Laminate, not carpeted floors.  Quiet!!  Comfortable bed.  Not alot of amenities.  No eating places within walking distance.  Pet friendly- $12/dog.  Great for an overnight stay.  Nice that you can park right outside your room.  Would stay again.

Great overnight stop.

I arrived in the afternoon and left about 3AM.  The room was clean and quiet and I had no issues.   I left well rested.  The guy who checked me in was great and I got a second floor room which I requested.  When you read the reviews and see all the good reviews for this place from Trip Advisor Members who have many reviews that means something.  For the price I paid this was a steal.  I have stayed here before and I will stay here again when passing through Tucumcari.  

Good Place to Stay, Clean and Quiet

We stayed for one night   The check in clerk was so friendly and was able to give us suggestions for dinner location. Great nights stay!  Very comfortable room, clean, quiet and friendly. We will stay here again.  They offer a modest breakfast which was nice.

Nice Motel

Everything here was great!  From check in to check out and everything in between.  Very clean, up to date, quiet, lit up parking lot, we felt very safe.  I would stay here again and again.  The room was very roomy and beds were comfortable.  

Rodeway Inn Tucumcari NM

Given the relatively low price paid, this manages to eke out 3 stars. There is a lot of good at this hotel that is offset by a few turnoffs. 

Staff was friendly and efficient. Bed was great. Vanity, carpet, appliances all seem new.  Room clean unless you look into corners. 

Downsides include a bug issue that might be common to everywhere in Tucumcari or not. Small flying bugs that luckily aren’t mosquitoes. I probably killed 9 or 10 in one night’s stay. The grossest desk chair ever with serious need of shampoo or replacement. (I’m not squeamish but didn’t sit in it. ).  Asked for a quiet room in a hotel that probably had 5-6 rooms occupied and ended up with loud footsteps above me. And all I expect from a cold breakfast is cereal, yogurt and a fruit. ( Got an old orange that turned out to be spoiled, no yogurt and they were out of my cereal choice. )

If you don’t expect much and get a good price, this is probably good for one night.

Your expectations will dictate your happiness

We were on a ground floor room with a sleeper sofa and two queen beds on the I-40 side. I-40 is far enough away that we didn't hear it. We traveled after the holiday rush, so the hotel did not seem full (we didn't see tons of vehicles in the lot or people at breakfast). Our room was comfortable (had one of the best sleeps in a hotel ever) and clean and I felt safe (which if what I look for clean and safe and any snafus not related to those I just deal with). Breakfast didn't have as many offerings as some places, but they had enough: peanut butter and hard-boiled eggs for protein, oatmeal and cold cereals, bread, bagels (and a toaster), and muffins. Coffee, tea, juices. The building is a little older and not very many outlets in room, so consider bringing something that will allow you to plug all your devices in. Employees were friendly. I would happily stay here again.

Clean, quiet, and felt safe

I stayed here twice in May. I was very happy with the room and the staff. There's not anything, foodwise, in walking distance, but that's not what I was interested in. The room was clean, and it was quiet.

Friendly girl welcomed us and check-in was quick and easy.  The room was large.  It had big windows with a table and chairs in front.  It smelled fresh and was VERY clean!  The lighting at the sink and counter area was very good, but inside the toilet area was pretty dim.  The TV cable package had a good variety of channels.

The breakfast in the morning had an excellent variety, with hand sanitizer available next to the breakfast bar.  The cereal dispenser was challenging for more than a few since the slider opens completely, and the bowls quickly overflow!  We watched this happen to several people.  

The only negatives are that the bedspreads could be replaced as there are several burns from cigarettes in them, even though we stayed in a non-smoking room.  The blankets were torn in a few places as well..  And be careful where you park, since the birds like to fire their droppings into the parking spots at the outside edge of the lot, as they sit in the trees. The evidence is clearly marked.

When we checked out I went and spoke to a gal from the housekeeping team and told her how much we appreciated the cleanliness of the rooms. 

Definitely would stay here again.

Very Nice

We stayed there because of their pet policy.   I've stayed in other hotels that allowed pets and have never experienced anything like this place.  The room smelled of pet urine.  We kept finding bugs in the carpet.  While plugging in a charger we realized there was women's panties under the bed.  There was an army of roaches.  I came away with some kind of bite on my hand which is making it swell up.  
In addition, I kept trying to call Rodeway Inn to say we would be arriving late with no answer.  When we finally arrived the clerk said their phones had been out for two weeks and she could not contact me to let me know I could not have a ground floor room.  I accepted this while checking in but then wondered does no one who worked there have a mobile phone?  How is this place operating as a hotel/inn/motel with no phone?  
Very disappointing and horrifying stay.

Dirty Hotel, full of bugs

We're staying at Choice properties and I needed a room after days of driving - my last stop. So I went for price.

The property is older, of course, but my room was nicely upgraded. New carpet (found a staple) and some new fixtures. Interesting combination refrigerator and microwave but both worked fine. Good WiFi and A/C. Comfortable beds and a soft pillow. All I needed for a good night's sleep.

Bonus were the extra large parking spots available that I could see from my room.

A surprise at breakfast was the hard boiled eggs - yes, protein! Waffles were there as well. 

Reception was friendly. My room was missing the hair dryer and I notified them so they wouldn't think that I took it - after all, I'm follically challenged!

If you're looking for an inexpensive but comfortable  place in Tucumcari, this is it.
