We were in town for an event and several of our families booked together.. We received a manager approved discount but when I called to book the room the front desk clerk stated there was no discount and attempted to charge me a higher rate. I called the following day and the same female answered telling me I must’ve called the wrong hotel. I confirmed details and price with the other families and called the hotel again. After providing her with other families names she agreed to provide the discount.. it was 30.00 so I don’t feel going through all of this was necessary especially when they were already charging more than their normal rate (they clearly were aware there is an event in town) every hotel in the area was booked. 
We checked into the hotel and the front desk clerk stated she wanted to move us to an available non smoking room because she knew men were coming from the bar and would want the smoking room .. um ok no problem we switched to the non smoking room. 
 We were not in the room long at all when my son noticed bugs in his bed.. you guessed it.. bedbugs 😡 we packed up and I went to the front desk.. she did not seem surprised by this and gave me a full refund. I would’ve slept in my car before sleeping there. I contacted the other families we were staying with, they did search their rooms and did not see any but when they mentioned this to the front desk.. the front desk clerk stated there were not bedbugs in room 212 😮 I understand they aren’t going to promote that they have bedbugs but when someone from our party mentions it and they deny it instead of explaining that it was an isolated incident and they were going to address it.. that tells me they aren’t going to address it and just book another paying customer into this room. 
The families with us also did not have hot water.. this hotel is disgusting, I would not recommend to anyone!!!

Only go here if you want bedbugs and a cold shower!!!

Would not recommend staying here, especially with children.  

My husband, children and I were awoken at 4:45 AM by another guest pounding on our door to open up we dropped a necklace, we didn't. I told her we were not opening the door and she continued to yell. I had to call the police because I was afraid to leave with my two young children. Once the police were checking the hotel. I started walking to the car and the other guest appeared in just a towel yelling profanities at us. 

The front desk was nice but seemed more concerned the police were there then a guest was acting erratically. I'm pretty sure she was a long term guest. 

Will never go back.

Was awoken at 4am

I was very happy with this choice.  It is close to US 23 and US 30 with gas stations and fast food close by.  But I was surprised with how quiet it was.  I ran the blower on the air conditioner on low and never heard a truck or a door slam.  The bed and pillows were comfortable.  The breakfast area is smaller than some but I found enough variety for my breakfast.  The staff is very friendly and helpful.  I stayed a few years ago and am happy that I came back.

I will come here again.

I took a chance on this hotel off the reviews and booked a Jacuzzi room.  The front desk ladies were very friendly during check in and check out.  The first red flag was a sign at the front desk that they will refund $10 if you leave a 10/10 review for them.  My room seemed fine at first glance, aside from the Jacuzzi and bathroom only separated from the main room by a shower curtain.  (There is no privacy in this room with the toilet - so glad I was alone.)  I first noticed the shower curtain was torn in several places.  The coffee maker had also not been cleaned.  That made me start checking out the room.  Here is what I found:
*The toilet was actual urine all over the rim under the seat.
*The counter hadn't been wiped off.
*All of the mirrors were actually dusty and had fingerprints and grime on them.
*The desk/nightstand/coffee table surfaces were dusty and had a single swipe mark from a dirty towel.  They all had actual "chunks" of stuff stuck to them in various places.
*The floor hadn't been swept and had lint and debris all over with lots of dust and dirt around the edges.
*The top bed cover was stained and the comforter had stains on it. 
There is built up dust on the lights, bathroom lights, tops of mirrors and other areas that catch dust, as well as on the furniture.   

Unfortunately, I got there late and the room was very dim (some of the bathroom light bulbs were even burned out.)  It was obvious that switching rooms wouldn't matter because housekeeping obviously just doesn't clean.  I ended up cleaning the toilet and counters myself and hoped for the best.  It wasn't until morning when I opened the curtains that I could see the reality of how dirty the room was.  

All of the other reviews  on the hotel website about the odd maze hallways, security door that doesn't shut, and the odd curtains that seem to not close are all accurate, too.  Choice Hotels gave me points for a free stay when I called them over this.  I appreciated that and hope that they follow up with this particular hotel.

Dirty room that is obviously not being cleaned

Nice, comfortable hotel in upper Sandusky, right off route 30. McDonald’s and Burger King near as well as two gas stations right next to hotel. Located only one to 2 miles from downtown upper Sandusky. Very nice and clean and comfortable room. Breakfast area nice. Enjoy!

Very nice hotel in Upper Sandusky

I stayed 2 nights here due to everywhere in the area being booked. I would have stayed at my parents if it had not been for my work schedule. 1/5 stars is being generous as I would not recommend. The place needs updated bad. There is a stale smoke smell lingering in the hallways regardless of if the rooms are non-smoking. The entire hotel is a maze and directions are entirely unhelpful. I was put in a smoking room after requesting a non-smoking room. I sucked it up. Lasted 2 minutes before going back to request a switch. They wanted to charge me for both rooms. Luckily, I’m not a Karen type but the guy working the front desk that evening demanded he check to see if I used the room before allowing me to switch. I was in there long enough to notice the awful stench and to change my work clothes. Thank heavens for the McDonald’s in front of the hotel too. Breakfast is better there, I can assure you.

Terrible

The first thing you notice at the front desk is a sign saying they will refund you $10 if you leave a 10/10 review for them. Kind of a red flag if you have to bribe people to leave a good review, dont you think?
Anyhow, there is nothing horribly wrong with this place but it definitely needs a lot of TLC. Broken sliding closet door in the room. Tub constantly dripping water. Bathroom needs updated. Floor looked like it was not vacuumed very well. Desk chair very worn looking. Stale leftover smoke smell in hallways and room
Bed was nice and comfy with plenty of pillows. I slept very well actually....which I suppose is the most important thing. 
A give it a solid 2.5 stars.....right in the "MEH" range.

Terrible stay. Here for a family funeral and staff was extremely rude. We’ve stayed here before for other family functions but never again. Breakfast was White Castle sliders. Really? We went to McDonald’s instead.

Really rude front desk

Had to change rooms at 10pm due to faulty air conditioner. However, the property advises they will give me back a portion of my points used so that was helpful.  Breakfast was White Castles in a refrigerator, but that may be due to local COVID restrictions. Room itself was clean & comfortable.

Would Have Been Better if A/C had Worked

Where to begin?
We had a conference to go to between Findlay and Upper Sandusky.  I choose to stay in Upper Sandusky because I had never stayed in that town before.   I knew I was in trouble when I arrived at the hotel to a crumbled up, pothole road and parking lot with semi's parked on it.
Arrived to a less than cordial receptionist.  She gave us our room and told us how to get to the room.  Here the fun began.  This hotel has four pods connected by hallways in a circle.  We walked around the hallways and ended up at the front desk again.  We asked where the elevator was.  No elevator in a multistory hotel.  Ok. Thanks for telling us.  Found a stairway and toted our luggage up the stairs.  Walked about the hallways again and ended up at the point where we were before.  Could not find our hallway.  Finally found it behind metal fire doors that look like industrial closet doors.  Walked down the hall to the end of the hall and could not find our room.  Found it.  No room number on the door.  Lets try our key. 
 Maybe this is the door.  Yahoo!!! Found our room. Walked in.  Got a jacuzzi  room.  Tub had mold in it.  Tub stopper would not stop the water from draining. Ok.  Finally relaxed and went to bed.  Two in the morning I am woken up to what sounded like shoes in a dryer.  Found out that someone had their subwoofers going somewhere listening to the same music over and over and over again.  Fortunately, I had a fan and stuck my head next to the motor to drown out the noise.  Morning arrives.  We get up a little early to go to breakfast. (Girls softball teams were in the hotel. Trying to beat the crowd.) Walked downstairs and asked where the breakfast was.  "Because of the Covid, we have a limited breakfast."  WHAT!!!! Governor Dewine lifted all the restrictions a week ago.  "But, you can go to McDonalds and get a ten percent discount by mentioning our hotel." Yippee!!!!!  I can save maybe 50 cents.  What the hotel offered was yogurt, chocolate chip muffins (that no one would take). and orange juice.  Ohhhh thanks for telling us when we checked in that there was no real breakfast.  Thanks advertising that you did when you didn't.   I wish we would have gone west instead of east and stayed in Findlay, Ohio instead of Upper Sandusky.  What a waste of money.
