Oh no! A Winter Storm Warning!  We saw a massive snow storm coming and pulled over early.  This hotel was so nice that we stayed an extra day!  Indoor pool, lackluster weight room, but breakfast was excellent.  Subway next door and fantastic pizza delivery.  The breakfast room was open 24 hours with the coffee machine made by the cup.  I was able to work in there while the family slept.

Best Port in a Storm!

Excellent and friendly service. Rooms are clean and don't smell musty. AC was good. Pool water temp and hot tub were excellent. Easy on and off from the freeway but located so you couldn't hear the traffic.

I suggest that you stay here rather than SLC.

Breakfast is a fair quality. Eggs seems powdery. Could not find tea bags.

However all things considered a very good value

Payson Quality Inn

Great place to stay while in Payson, as not only was the help great, but breakfast also can't be beat. Very clean and quiet rooms. Visited here due to death in family at nearby Veterans home, and the staff were very kind. Had one of the best ever breakfasts at a Choice Hotel ever, and I would definitely stay here again if in the area again. 

Quality at a Quality INN!

Great pillows.  Overall a great night sleep. The breakfast was average continental; muffins, cereal,  yogurt,  and most important coffee, but wasn't there for that I would stay here again. Easy on and off the highway.

Stayed there for 4 nights. The price was reasonable and they allowed pets. They have an exercise room, laundry, pool, and meeting rooms. It looks like they served a hot breakfast. Due to the Corona virus all of that was closed but they did have items individually wrapped. 
The rooms were clean and the staff was friendly.

I would recommend staying here when in Payson.

Nice place

Pool closes at 10pm. Front desk staff was welcoming and very friendly.  Beds were comfortable, rooms clean.  The rooms were a little musty and the AC unit makes a lot of noise but didn't work well. Breakfast had waffles, eggs, sausage, yogurt and bread items.  Hotel is showing age and has areas needing repair throughout (missing ceiling tiles, plastic hanging out).  Pool was clean, hot tub was also clean. The area around the pool was very hot and smelled like the sauna and heavy chlorine. There was a sauna in each locker room.   What was odd was that I ended up booking a room from the lobby because they couldn't price match.  The person at the front desk was very kind and helpful dispite this "policy".  Overall, it was an average hotel.  We would stay again.

Quick stop over

Friendly staff and clean, well-run facility.  Breakfast was outstanding, with a nice variety of cooked entrees, cereals, muffins/sweet rolls, toast or bagels.  Even a wafflemaker!  I did have a security concern that exterior doors on the side and rear of the building could be entered without a key until late at night.  Given the craziness and gun violence we often see on the news, that seems unnecessarily lax to me.  If that is corrected, the hotel is a great value for the money.

Great value for budget traveler

A convenient and quiet location while being very close to the freeway.
Beds are marshmellow soft, my would love, us, not so much!
The bath in room 309 had been updated very nicely,  for the most part, the tub must be the last on the list, which may be why we only had enough hot water for one hot shower.  Sadly by the time I got ready for mine, no bueno!
When we checked out I mentioned this to the front deask and she said that they were due to be replace this week, might have been good to know that when I called the property to make my reservations!
The breakfast was all premade food except the oranges and apples, some yogurt, the eggs and bacon definetly not made on site.  As we were leaving I glanced in the breakfast prep room and the gal was removing bread slices with her bare hands, which I had seen her a few moments earlier run through her hair and hold her head up with while sitting.
I did mention checking out at the front desk, as I need a paper copy for my records, I grab the copy while chatting with the front desk, folded it in my bag and headed out.  10 miles down the road my phone rang, yup the hotel had given me the incorrect room receipt, name and number different. Fyi I look up rates then call the establishment to book if thye will accept the on line rates, I paid $94 incluidng taxes, the guy I got the paperwork for paid $105 incluidng taxes.  Now I have a strangers personal info.....training might help all emplyees at this establishment, from top to bottom.

Where do I start?

Acknowledging that there are almost no hotels in Payson, you'll want to avoid this one. Drive to American Fork or Provo to stay instead if you need to.

We've stayed at this hotel multiple times over the years, each stay gets worse and worse. This is the absolute last time we will stay at this hotel.

Check-in was typical, the person at the desk was nice. I was made to sign an agreement stating that if smoke was detected in the room, we would have to pay a $250 fine. Upon arriving to the room, it smelled heavily of smoke.  I went back to the front desk to report this and the representative acted surprised.  I asked how they would know at this point who smoked in the room since the smell was so strong.  I was told we wouldn't be charged.  I was also told that there were no other rooms to switch to as the hotel was full.  I asked for deodorizer for the room and was given Lysol which isn't really a deodorizer.  When I returned to the front desk to return the Lysol, I asked if we could be provided a discount since the smell was so strong and it was supposed to be a non-smoking room. I was told she would leave a note for the manager and then she told me that housekeeping had been attempting to get the smell out of the room "all morning". This ran counter to the surprised act she put on when I first reported the smell to the front desk.  

We left the hotel for a few hours and came back to a completely different smell in the room.  There was a smell emanating from the A/C unit that smelled like a sour rotten dirty ass - it was absolutely disgusting but there was nothing that could be done about it. 

Both my husband and I attempted to connect to the hotel wifi with no luck.  It accepted the password but would never connect. We attempted on different devices without success.  

My husband got no sleep all night between the smell and the horrible bed. At some point in the night, the room became really hot, which just made the smell worse.

When we went to breakfast the next morning, it was severely lacking. All there was for hot food was powdered scrambled eggs, waffles, and packaged muffins.  No meat at all such as sausage or bacon like they usually have. When I went out and asked the front desk what was happening with breakfast, I was told that supply chain issues were causing breakfast to be sparse. I was in Payson for an athletic competition and the lack of items for breakfast was extremely disappointing since there is really no where in Payson to get breakfast at that point.  Powdered eggs have almost no protein.  

We checked out of the hotel early that morning and I reported all of the issues to the front desk. I once again asked for a discount and was told that she didn't have the authority to do that and would leave a message for the manager. I filled out a sticky note with my contact information and note about the issues and asked to be contacted.  It has been an entire week later and still no call from a manager at all. 

I completed the survey that I sent by choice hotels after not hearing anything for a week.  The next day I received an email response from the General Manager that contained a half-hearted apology and platitudes about how my terrible experience will benefit guests in the future.  Doubtful. She couldn't be bothered to even attempt to make it right - didn't even bother to try to throw some extra points my way or anything.

Extremely disappointing.  We will not return to this Quality Inn on future trips.
