So I was browsing thru the reviews.  I saw all the negative reviews. I travel a lot for work and have stayed in some crappy hotels. If u like your 5 star hotels this may not fit your life style.  I was able to check in early without a hassle. Front desk was awesome. They will bend over backwards for and treat u with kindness. Room was clean no issues there. Rooms have been updated. It was a five star experience. I would stay here again in a heart beat. Great motel with friendly staff. They even serve breakfast.

Great motel

First, my key would not open the deadlock.  Had to go back to the office.  Second, when unpacking, my dog found a used feminine hygiene product under the bed...disgusting!  I took this to the office and they said they would "check into it".  TV didn't work, had to call the office.   Guests several doors down partied until after 11:30 and grilled on a grill they had plugged into the laundry/ice room outlet.  Towels were grungy, not white and did not smell clean or fresh.  BLECH!  Will never stay there again!


Never again!

Very neat and clean room and bathroom. Very comfortable beds. Very maintained lawn. Very good patio. The group’s enjoying their party. Some were guys busy with BBQ in lawn. Bathroom has been updated. I was in room no 135. New carpet, new window AC and new paint on wall and doors. I love to stay here again.

Very clean

First, one good thing: the managers were pleasant at our check-in. 
However, upon opening the door to our room, we were met by a terrible odor. We had to make a trip to the store for a room freshener spray. The room had not been dusted in a while. Dust hung on the light fixtures. The room was dimly lit. The bathroom had no exhaust fan, and the length of time it took for the toilet to fill after flushing was about 15-20 minutes.
The owners should make an effort to clean and update their rooms.
We will not be staying here on our next visit to Valentine.

Needs some work!

Very old & unkempt. Old, dirty floor covering. Underneath beds haven't been vaccuumed in years. Breakfast shouldn't be listed as a Breakfast. Even the coffee had no flavor. Toilets are good size for toddlers. This place needs major updates. Rating of 1 was only due to couldn't go lower & was a place to lay our heads!

Keep looking, not recommended 

I called the Raine motel directly and booked two nights with the owner on my credit card. When I arrived, the clerk had no record of my reservation. They had one room left so I took it. To my disappointment, it adjoined another room with a paper thin door and I was not able to get a minute of sleep the whole night because of the noise they made. It was like we were all in the same room. Then the about 8:30 pm the owner knocked on the door and said that I have to leave because she double booked the room. She said she would credit me for one night and actually gave me an official looking credit card receipt which she had me sign but I never got credit on my card. She cheated me out of $100.00.
For the same price, you can go to the other side of town and stay in a much nicer place.

Terrible experience

Was recommended this motel based on the adjoining Indian restaurant. The food was great!

The room was clean, large and a good price. There was a decent continental breakfast but I passed since everything was high carb.
The owners have picnic area near their herb garden. Very pleasant.

I would definitely stay again.

Good Value!

Large rooms, good parking in front of your door.  Micro wave, coffee maker, refrigerator.  We had two queen beds and table with two chairs.  The restaurant that is attached to motel has food from India.  Close to everything.

A nice clean motel

We asked the locals how they got such good reviews and they said it was from the previous owners .  The new owners are cheap and the room is not worth the money . they want to charge you $10.00 for a missing towel even though they were thin and gray and had holes in them and were very old .They wanted you to use the room ice bucket and charge  $10.00 for excessive ice .They give are room key to another customer they knocked on are door waking us up thank God they didn't come in a half hour later the owners knocked on are door again wanting to know how we got in and asked us who checked us in and what time even though they were the ones who checked us in they were very rude and argumentative we offered to show them a receipt and asked what there problem was so they left they made us feel like we were squatters they made us very uncomfortable made us feel like we had to walk on egg shells the rest of the night not good . The room was very dusty and beds were very old and sagging security was minimal giving some one else our room key with no other way of locking the door . Hair dryer outlet didn't work I even tried my hair dryer and it still didn't work the switches to lights are up side down and shower knobs are up side down water in sink wouldn't shut off properly on his ad he says there is laundry on site and there isn't they show a American restaurant and its only Indian food  for the price  you pay no breakfast was offered. This place is horrible avoid at all cost we went  down to Trade Winds  after we checked in at Raine and seen there rooms and they were nice and the owner was so pleasant and the grounds looked very nice go there instead .

Very Rude And Disrespectful Owners

We stay here in our annual trek across the Midwest. It’s simple, clean and friendly. We also were happy to have authentic Indian food on site. A good place to stay in Valentine NE. Thank you Andy and family, Namaste
