Check in was smooth since a new person learning. Then lead lady took a phone call helping someone get cheap hotels rate. Anyway she or he did not acknowledge us as Elite or tell us about our points! When we got to room the fire alarm was on the floor so took it to office. She got maintenance and when they came no new alarm because Monday they are having all new put in. Even if they put it up it wouldn’t work!! She helped with address to Cattlemen Restaurant but they don’t have good reviews. We went to Hotel El Capitan instead. Nice place Good food! The Quality Inn next to I-10. They need better windows & thick door to help with truck noise! Could clean corners better!! Love new up light mirror!

Quality Inn Van Horn TX

Pretty good for Quality Inn.  I normally avoid them unless I know someone who has recommended it because the Quality can vary quite a bit.

Looks like an old converted Holiday Inn.  Good conversion.  Everything works and it was very clean. 

Breakfast was the usual fried bacon, sausage and eggs with a waffle machine.  Nothing to get excited about.

Plenty of parking and very close to I-10

Ok Place

This is a very basic, clean accommodation. The pool was drained and not accessible, kind of a disappointment because I was planning on using it to cool off after a long drive. The breakfast was fine and the room was comfortable enough to get some sleep despite being near the interstate highway.

Clean

I would give this place zero stars if possible. Front desk lady is absolutely crazy. She would not give me my room key until after she told me her life story and also ranted about how China has baby farms so they sell them to s*x dens. She also called my grandpa a cripple. If I had another option I would have left immediately. 

Horrible hospitality

Was pleasantly surprised when we arrived at hotel. Older property that is well maintained. Room was standard queen double on ground floor. Beds were comfortable, and bathroom as well as the rest of the room was very clean.  Desk clerk was very hospitable and recommended the Van Horn cattle company for dinner. Excellent recommendation!

Great value comfortable hotel

I’m giving this place 1 star ONLY because the bed is comfy.  The room had brown, green and gold curtains which DID not hang on the curtain rods.  There were candy wrappers and toothpicks on the carpet.
AND…the tile in the bathroom was very slick. I stepped out of a handicap tub on the bath mat and fell very hard on the slippery tile floor. The bathroom has 1 sink with zero counters for toiletries and one very dim light in the middle of the bathroom.
SPEND THE EXTRA MONEY AND STAY ANYWHERE ELSE!

Horrible

This hotel is swarming with flys! There were tons of them flying around the front lobby door inside and out. There was something on the ground in front of the lobby doors that they were eating and staff did nothing to clean up the area. We had at least 20 dead flies on the window seal and many more dead in the window track. There were live flies in the room that we were able to kill but many more came in when we opened the door for any reason. When I asked the front desk to send someone to clean the flies off the window she looked at me like I was a Karen. I could see the window seals of the other rooms were also covered in dead flies. My advice to you is DO NOT STAY HERE! It’s absolutely disgusting! 🤢🤮

Fly City

Hotel is super old.  Right next to highway and does don’t shut well so u hear all the traffics noise.   Not enough towels.  They tell u they ran out.  Shower and bathroom need updated.  Breakfast was not bad.  Typical for hotels these days.  Wouldn’t recommend to stay here.  Find a different one though the options are few.

Not good

We were traveling west from San Antonio to the Phoenix area.  It was either stop in El Paso or Van Horn.  The town is extremely small and appearances made me believe it was in need of restoration and updating.  The hotel was clean & decent, I would say don’t stay on the first floor because we could hear people walking above us all night.  Believe it or not the coffee the next morning was the best that I had, spending the past several nights in a different hotel each time.  The breakfast was definitely sufficient.  A little apprehensive at first, I don’t mind that we chose to stop here for the night.

Not bad at all in the middle of nowhere

Manager doesn't care what their front desk staff says they're only front desk and even after authorizing a refund the manager said she didn't because they're not authorized. Even with a third party confirming it was stated, Manager still charged us for our room even after they sold it to someone else.
