This is a good place to stop for the night and get some rest on your cross country trip. It’s not fancy, but it is clean, the management is friendly and they have a grill in the parking lot that seems to be the “meeting point” for guests to chat. My 3 stars don’t indicating issue,  it rather that this place is good, but not great/excellent.

A solid choice but nothing fancy.

Hotel was clean and quiet.  Only drawbacks were they no longer have breakfast and they are no longer part of the Wyndham chain so no rewards points for staying there.  Beds were very comfortable and once again I can say it was very clean. Centrally located to decent restaurants. 

Clean quiet hotel 

We stayed overnight on a road trip. The staff were friendly. The room was spacious and had a mini fridge and a microwave. The bathroom and some of the light fixtures seemed recently redone. Our only difficulty was that the room was very warm and not air conditioned when we first went in, but this may have been due to the short notice of our reservation. 

A comfortable, spacious room. 

Not much choice for hotels in Van Horn, Tx.  This was a place to sleep for the night.  The linens looked clean.  The room very dated.  The heater in the room was loud and would trigger on every 20 minutes or so to keep it at a normal temperature.  

I had called ahead for reservations when we were two hours out but when arrive the hostess could not find the reservation.  We still got a room.  The town is on the demise.  

The busiest place we saw was the Wendy’s restaurant and travel stop.  It was fine for one night.

Okay for one night stay when travelling through and needing a hotel / motel.

The Knight’s Inn is a good but not excellent choice as a hotel overall.  However, for a reasonably priced overnighter where a place to rest is your concern, the Inn fits the bill.  It’s clean, but a bit dated and the refrigerator was noisy and had what appeared to be mildew at the back of one of the shelves.  Be aware that the Inn is across the Main Street from a railroad track with nightly train traffic, as are all hotels along the street.  It is loud.  No breakfast and not early opening place in Van Horn.  While the Inn has some downsides, I give it a “thumbs up.”  For an overnighter, we’d stay there again.

Good choice for budget overnight stay

I booked this place because it got good reviews, even though I was not familiar with this brand. First off, the google maps and gps will send you to the closed Budget motel. This motel,is about 1/4 mile farther on, can’t miss it the sign is high. They do not provide breakfast ( “COVID”). But the rooms have a microwave and frig and there are plenty of mini marts in the area.  The room was clean, bed comfy, area quiet, except for,the train. It stopped about 10 but it was loud as the tracks are very close. There are a few other hotels in the area but since this area has nothing, I don’t know why anyone would spend more money for a one night stay on your way somewhere.

Good room,good price

We have found this to be the best place in town for the price that you can count on. We are always traveling with our dog, so having a pet friendly place is always welcome. However,  our experience with the staff was out of this world and way beyond the normal call of duty. We have stayed there four times and sometimes late at night, but always found all the amenities and every comfort available, including a nice area to walk our dog. I really appreciate the clean room without smelling like a hospital! lol

Comfortable clean room with wonderful service that graciously accepts pets!

I booked my room through booking.com and utilized the map directions provided.  The google maps directions took me to a closed hotel. I was unable to find the Kinghts Inn Van Horn hotel.  They charged me for a room I didn't stay in.  I spoke with several people at Knights Inn Van Horn.  They said "not our problem".  I think it's absolutely their problem.  They have an incorrect address on a very well known reservation site that they receive compensation from AND google earth.  To this day the address is incorrect.  If you use google earth be very careful in attempting to locate this hotel and whatever you do don't book your room early in aspirations that you con find this hotel.

Directions sent me to a closed hotel!  Then they charged me.

The family who runs the hotel are so understanding and thoughtful.  That alone sells the place for me. 
 The hotel is also nice and quiet, which is a must for me!  Any time I pass through Van Horn again I will not hesitate to book here.

Great place to stay

I wasn’t sure what to expect - this was a group business trip and we needed a block of ten rooms.   Even the pickiest member of my team was impressed by the cleanliness of the rooms,  and the beds were quite comfortable, the linens were spotless.   I also have to give the owners points for plenty of horizontal space and there were outlets everywhere.     Handy to have a refrigerator and microwave in the room.    I would happily stay here again.
