We came to Chester, VT to relax and see friends. The Rose Arbor and it’s host Susie did not disappoint. Our stay was wonderful and private.  The breakfasts were amazing and the scones were the best! There are 3 wonderful, beautiful, very well behaved Huskies that live here. You will not even know they are there, unless you look for them ( or choose to pet them). Checking out Susie’s gorgeous art is a must too! She is an extremely talented artist. 
We would definitely come back and highly recommend a stay here!

A definite must try

A lovely, quiet B & B run by Suzy. Clean, period appropriate and nicely decorated with Suzy's own artwork (horses). She was very accommodating and informative about the town (Chester). Even though we stayed only one night because we were driving to Maine, it was delightful. Thanks, Suzy!

Quintessential New England B & B

We have been going to the Rose Arbour for High Tea 3-5 times a year for about 10 years. Suzi is an exceptionally talented baker and everything she serves is fresh and made on site. The tea room itself is cosy and a good place to shop for gifts, with many of the items imported from the UK. Highly recommended!

High Tea at the Rose Arbour

Nothing says great Bed and Breakfast like a historic Victorian house. Our room was cozy, comfortable, clean and restful.  We stayed in the Rose Room which has a bathroom adjacent. The rooms are not huge, but fully utilized the common areas, lounging in the homey living room chatting with other guests, making coffee in the kitchen area and using the fridge. Our first morning we had to leave before breakfast but Suzanne left us fresh scones which were wonderful. The second morning the breakfast was a generous portion of the best pancackes I've ever had with some fruit. It is an old house with some quirky features. I wish we had spent more time at the inn to learn more of the history and to relax. The lower level is a tea room and gift shop. Perfect for starting my holiday shopping. We would definitely return.

What a lovely stay!

This was our first experience at a Bed and Breakfast. What a great experience. The room was very clean and with special touches throughout. At breakfast the owner made an excellent array of breakfast food to each guests taste. Highly recommend this facility to others. Town was equally charming.

Great House

My wife and I stayed here two nights. Host and puppy Zephyr were adorable. Homey place. Artsy and cool. Old but in a nice way. Just a great place to be on a rainy cold snowy night in Vermont. Great running right out the door. Head into the woods and hills and enjoy life. We are already planning a return. Don't leave without trying a scone. I almost did! -- Larry/Dana, P-burgh

Close to Perfection

We really enjoyed staying here with Susie and her new puppy Zepher. We stayed in the one bedroom with the private bath and our friends had another room with a shared bath. Bed was comfortable, shower had a good temperature range and good pressure. Enjoyed seeing Susie's excellent artwork and her cute shop. Breakfast was fantastic and she thoughtfully switched up her menu to make it glutenfree. We were able to walk to dinner at a very nice place. A short drive to the fall foliage train. Definitely recommend this B&B!

Comfy place, great breakfast

I cannot recommend this place highly enough!! Beautiful house, very well laid out, comfortable beds, THE nicest hostess you will ever meet, amazing art all over the place, you wake up to a wonderful breakfast, and the absolute highlight are the 4 beautiful, playful and loving huskies. An absolutely wonderful experience and is highly recommended. 5/4 Stars

Best Bed & Breakfast

With family from out-of-town visiting for a short while we decided to try the Rose Arbour Tea Room. We were greeted warmly by the owner and seated on the porch. We ordered different teas and scones. The teas came in pots covered with beautifully crafted cloth  'cozys'. The scones - oh the scones - they were homemade masterpieces and were truly delicious. The inside of the Rose Arbour was adorned with beautiful original art painted by the owner. There was a room nearby with a host of gentle sled dogs happy to meet us. That was fine with us having rescued dogs of our own. The overall experience was very positive, unique and remains a highlight for us and family visiting Chester.

Great Tea and Scones on the Porch

I was visiting family in Chester Vermont, and decided to stop in at the Rose Arbour for tea and scones.  The tea was good and a big variety, but the scones (made on property by the owner) were fantastic with cream and jam.  I bought some scones to take home! The gift shop displayed many of the owner's paintings of equine art.  A pleasant afternoon full of surprises.  I do not stay at the Inn, but may in the future when returning to Chester.
