I'll start by saying I love it here. I feel so comfortable! From the spacious rooms to the "lake & lodge" styling throughout. No modern distractions here(that's a good thing!)I'll also mention the owner & staff are kind and personable with guests. Those qualities combined are a rarity in the motor inn world. I appreciate the peace & quiet I get while staying here. It's a priceless vibe. Will stay again, for sure!

The people I dealt with at the Deer Run Motor Inn were all very nice, helpful and pleasant. As I was checking out in the morning, Rich (the owner) asked me if I knew where I was eating breakfast. It was a very nice question to ask a guest who was a stranger to the area. I had brought my own breakfast since I was leaving early, but it was nice of him to ask.
As for the motel itself, it has seen better days. There must have been a leak in the bathroom above mine, because the ceiling had obviously been patched. The motel could definitely use an update and some upgrades. Another reviewer commented on a handicap ramp, which I didn't see. I noticed the concrete blocks that served as a step up to the concrete apron around the building. You need the concrete block since it's about 15" from the ground to the apron. Be careful of your footing because one of the blocks I stepped on wobbled. The rooms did have a (small) TV, microwave and refrigerator. I did notice that there was no smoke detector in the room, although there is a large fire alarm pull box right by the door. I also noticed there was no clock in the room. Not a big problem since I used the alarm on my phone, but it's was just curious.
The bathroom I used had been updated some time, but the vanity the sink is on is too large for the space. The vanity top actually hangs over the top of the toilet tank. So you sit right up against the vanity. It's "convenient" if you need an arm rest, but annoying since you're always right up against the sink.

Not my first choice of a place to stay

My husband and I just stayed here, with our dog. Upon first glance, my husband apologized over and over for “bringing (his) new young bride to such a place”... however, we were pleasantly surprised at the friendliness of the desk clerk, who ended up being the owner, and at how clean the room was! It was a little out dated decor-wise, and you should bring your own coffee for sure- but we enjoyed our time there, it was quiet and private and near everything we needed to be near! There was a tv, a hand TV guide sheet for easy browsing, a fridge and a microwave, all for a very reasonable price! Thank you for a great time, we will be back!

Well it was quiet. Everything else is in need of an update.$109.00 a night is a bit high. Not a lot of options around so I guess one can charge whatever. I was thrown off by the TV. A very small LCD. Two remotes. I programmed it for one.

how many motels have you stayed at where the owner lets you borrow his vintage chevy to use when your car is in the shop ???...the room #13 was at the end of the bldg. next to the handicapped ramp which i need after surgery...the inn needs handicap upgrades but face it..the area is for cyclists, kayak hiking zip line etc...and the toughest mountain to ski in all of vermont.
the room was large..king bed... pull out couch.. small table.. 2 chairs..not flat screen hd but adaquate cable lineup. the bed was as comfortable as any hampton inn...plenty of hot water..coffee,.. fridge.. microwave....and it's CLEAN !!!  
my car died a few miles away..i asked Rich the owner of 22 yrs...where i could rent a car..what's a good garage..he offered to let me use his '76 Chevy Impala coupe for as long as i needed it...seriously ??? have you ever ??? he said it's happened before...my car was on the road at 1:30 the next day...only $60.00 to track down a bad ground wire..thanks to Kevin and Matt at Jeffersonville auto repair.
Soooo..if you're looking for a comfy budget motel that's 1/2 mile from downtown Jeffersonville...Deer Run is a good choice...bring your favorite toiletries as only small soap bars are provided.

clean comfortable convenient hospitable

My friend and I stayed here 2 nights while skiing at Smuggler's Notch. The rooms were large and very clean, with good heating and lots of hot water; also, a coffee maker, microwave, and refrigerator. The staff were very pleasant and helpful and offered goods suggestions for nearby restaurants. For the price, a great bargain. I would definitely stay here again.

Had a really nice stay!

Booked online for a one night stay in the Jeffersonville area.  If I had been driving past while looking for somewhere to stay,  I would have kept on going based on appearances alone.  About a dozen people hanging outside various open doorways smoking.  The woman at the front desk was friendly enough in our brief contact.  The whole place just looked tired and beaten down.  The first floor room cleanliness was so-so.  The walls and ceilings/floors are paper thin to sound, so you get to hear your neighbors above you and on either side like you're all sharing the same room... yells, dropped objects, heavy footsteps, everyone's favorite TV show, even the upstair guest's snoring.  The heat was cranked to something near 80 degrees and the thermostat had no effect.  A loud noise, sort of like a blender or garbage disposal, came from somewhere above every half hour or so, lasting for 5 to 10 minutes.  I assumed it was the heating system, but I have no idea.  It was not even close to being worth the $100 it cost.  I have stayed in far nicer places in VT for $75 or less.  If it wasn't January, even sleeping in the car may have been a better alternative.

Run away.  Not even a bargain at half the price.

My family and I stayed there for almost 2 weeks. It was not clean the maid service was ridiculously horrible. They don't vacuum and they leave u trash bags on the stand and don't take the trash that's bagged up. I had to clean my room because even after housekeeping came the room wasn't clean. If you ask for towels or a vacuum to clean your own room they blow up and cause an argument. I'm so disappointed in the service there. We will never go back there. I don't think you could even pay me to stay there!!!

Do not stay here!!! Nasty rooms and rude people!

It took me a while to write this commentary, and so, when I noticed that I was traveling in July 2014, we actually went there in July 2013. My fiancé and I traveled all day from Haliburton, Ontario in northern Vermont. We had a booking at the campsite. Well, when we got to the campsite they didn't really want any trace of our booking. We were going to find a hotel at 9:00 at night the impossible, which was next door to a conference that was going on in town. We decided that we would wait until we could find something perfect.
