My husband and I come almost every year for Virginia Beach’s Neptune Festival. We booked this place by mistake, thinking it was a different motel we’d stayed at before.  We were a little worried upon pulling up, as the motel does not look to be in good repair. One of the first things you see is on old defunct and empty vending machine on the sidewalk. We got our key and got into our room, which appeared clean and actually had pretty nice furniture and decor in the main living space. There’s a old kitchenette section with a sink and mini fridge. And there’s a bathroom, which hasn’t been given the attention it most certainly deserves, but it was basically clean. There was no toilet paper holder, so toilet paper sat on the toilet. One of the two lightbulbs over the sink was out. Suffice to say no luxurious showers were taken here, but we were able to grab a quick shower after walking the festival all day. (We did resort to a Walmart trip to buy some decent bath towels, as the ones provided didn’t feel or look very nice).
The bed was actually comfy, though, so we slept well.
Our room was never given maid service after our first night, but we decided not to make a big deal of it, especially since we had our own towels by that point.
Pretty sure I wouldn’t stay here again unless I really HAD to. There are too many better choices to be had in the area.

Not High on my List!

I honestly can not believe this place has not been condemned. It is old, dilapidated, dirty, smells like cigarettes and mold, and there are bugs all over. It just seemed super unsafe (possible the building could've collapsed or you could be murdered here).

When you first drive in you are welcomed by a speaker blaring rap music, a pit bull in a cage, and some shady characters chain smoking. The woman at the front desk (I guess the manager?) was so rude it was almost comical. She was pissed off the moment we walked in and ended up cussing at us multiple times. She threw the key at as and stormed out of the office. While we were walking to the room she continued to yell at us and talk about us to the people chain smoking in the parking lot. It was the most bizarre interaction.

The only reason we didn't hop back in the car and search for something else (ANYTHING would've been better) was because I had pre-payed and knew I would never get my money back. Honestly sleeping in your car would be better than place.

I have never stayed in such a crappy motel in my life and have never been cussed out like that!

If you like sleeping in an ashtray in a “non smoking room” this place is for YOU!  This place should be condemned and demolished before it causes the next pandemic.  I just need a cheap bed to sleep a few hours before a fishing trip.  I thought how bad could it be?  Never ask that. Absolutely horrendous.  Thankfully I didn’t even plan on taking a shower.  My clothes smell like I’m a 4 pack a day smoker.  Disgusting

If sleeping in an actual ashtray is your thing…

Stopped in VA on our way home from Florida and it was late or we would have immediately left. Parking lot is too small, cars too close together and trashy.  Seemingly in a rough area, the rooms felt really gross. Mold on the shower curtain, and the place is in very outdated and in poor repair. The price was a lot higher than what was booked for and they said they didn't go by the rates online.  We checked out asap in the morning and found another we hotel beachfront, and nice for less. We were never refunded for the 2nd night even though we were told we would be.

Dump, won't refund 2nd night

Awful, awful, awful.  Do NOT stay here. The "Manager" is very rude. My room was not cleaned after the first night. Creeps and freaks in the parking lot.  Heard what sounded like 3 gunshots in parking lot at about 1 a.m.  Tried to check in at 3 pm.  No one at front desk.  Door to office was locked shut.  Called "Manager," she hung up on me twice!   Extremely rude.  Will ask for refund. Probably will not get it.  Spend the extra money.  DO NOT stay here.

Awful!!!!

Vacations are about the experience, and this place is an experience you won't forget. Located only two blocks from the beach, this shack should have been demolished forty years ago. Upon arriving here at a perfectly decent hour, don't except to be checked in easily as the lobby door is locked and the seemingly sole employee is nowhere to be found. Once you are finally able to locate her, you will be rewarded with exactly one key. One physical key. In case you're not getting this, there are absolutely no keycards and you only get ONE PHYSICAL KEY. If you're not excited yet, let me tell you there is so much more! On your way to the room you will be greeted by a rather large, yet seemingly friendly, cockroach and a puddle of puke in the parking lot that will be there for the entire duration of your stay. I would say stepping into the room is like traveling back in time, but it's a bit more like walking in on your grandmother showering: highly disturbing, but you know you'll have to live with it. Now I will say the beds are actually surprisingly acceptable, but this won't make up for the rest of what you'll soon discover. From the sink in the bathroom that just fills with water and slowly leaks onto the floor below, from the shower head that feels like it's the ceiling that actually needs cleaned, to the smoke detector that constantly beeps through the night because the batteries haven't been replaced since 1984, to the dangerous wiring that has yet to burn down the place. Save your money on going to the horror house, and just stay in the room. The mustiness and smell of death will provide you with all the thrills and chills you'll ever want. Be prepared to be disturbed by housekeeping banging on your door at multiple times since there's no way to indicate that you don't want to be disturbed. Your stay will also include a blaring concert, provided from the vehicle of the lobby attendant. And if you are to need anything, absolutely ask for it; you will get it with only a great amount of rudeness. Your stay at the dumpster fire known as White Marlin Inn will be one you'll never forget. I highly recommend staying here if you're looking for an experience of a lifetime that will forever haunt your waking dreams. 

TL;DR: The White Marlin Inn is an absolutely unforgettable experience filled with many surprises.

A Memorable Experience

Room #113
Paid $331.46 for an overnight stay. Room had bugs and spiders. Bathroom floor had feces on it. Floors were dirty and sandy. AC unit leaked water on floor, slippery. I had to ask multiple times for extra towels and a blanket. The staff was RUDE! I was told the room was non-smoking, It was not. Sheets and towels were stained. I have sent 5 emails to Monil Pacall and called 5 times with no response regarding a refund. DO NOT STAY HERE!!!!!

Horrible and extremely over priced

The staff is very rude and disrespectful, they do not have a 24 hour front desk, they do not have vending machines, they do not have a kitchenette.. the only thing this place does have is bugs, mold, and plenty of code violations. We booked a night, went to see the room, walked right back out and asked for our money back, the womans boyfriend tried to fight with me and be loud over it in the parking lot, complaining that they HAVE to live there in room 105 and that I shouldn't be complaining. 

While we were leaving, 3 other families checked in, and out as well.
