The good:
Awesome and super friendly check-in!
Room exceptionally clean

The bad:
Smoking area was right outside our door. The entire hotel are outside room doors only.
Noise, noise and more noise.
Pool was closed.
Low profile toilets are way too low! This is a real problem throughout the U.S. hotels.
No elevator. 

The ugly:
We were counting on eating at the Subway next to the hotel. It is gone.
The breakfast is a bagged meal -- literally in a paper bag. While they were easy to take along on travels, this does NOT accommodate food allergies so most of ours got tossed.

Good and bad

Room was ok, clean, comfortable bed, AC worked well. Girl that checked us in was very pleasant. Close to the entrance of the Badlands NP and Wall drug. We needed to stay in an accessible room on the first floor and the occupant above was walking around from 4:30am-6:00am and it was very loud, woken up even over AC, sound machine and ear plugs. If you stay request 2nd floor, keep in mind no elevator.

Reasonable and close to Badlands NP

Big pool - enough to swim laps in - clean. Clean room, comfortable beds. No elevator, so ask for ground floor if you don't want to lug stuff up/downstairs. No hot tub. Sack breakfast. Loud AC in room. Floors seemed sticky to me. Bathroom was tight. Curtains didn't keep out a lot of light. Wife thought fridge made funny sounds. 

A motel (not hotel) experience. Big pool. 

Very nice hotel - wonderful staff - great idea for breakfast, you get a bag with water, breakfast sandwiche, sweet roll and orange.  This was a great way to start the day - very clean room, looks like it had been remodeled. 

Very Nice Staff!!

We stayed here for the proximity to Badlands National Park and it served its purpose. The rooms were clean and the front desk clerk was friendly and welcoming.  The grab and go breakfast had a bottle of water, piece of fruit, microwave sausage sandwich and prepackaged pastry. Not very tasty but got us on our way to the park early. Breakfast is served starting at 7 am.

You stay here for the location.

Heading to Mt.Rushmore, decided to stop in Wall. It was late when we arrived and other lodgings were all booked. Luckily, Econo lodge had 1 room left, with 2 queen beds.  Thankfully, it had 2 beds as the first bed we were going to sleep in sunk in the middle. The room was clean and the floors are not carpeted which I like better.  The girl checking us in was very pleasant.  In the morning they give you a to go bag that had a water and muffin. Price was okay.   

Decent place to stay.

While traveling from a prior AKC dog competition my family decided to see what all the hype was about in Wall,SD( known for Wall drug). We needed a place to stay with 2 dogs and options aren't ways easy to find when traveling with pets 

I booked through website and scrolled down towards the bottom as I often do to double check if they were indeed pet friendly. Ta Da, yes they certainly were. Limited rooms available with pets.Please note: the room available was a Smoking room king size bed suite which was stated on the booking site. 

Traveled to econolodge, went into office and Halloween decor filled and came out one of the nicest person behind the counter I had ever encountered. Per my request I did ask for a ground level floor for my elderly handicapped mum while booking. We were informed of a bagged breakfast upon check in for the following morning if we were interested, one of us would have to simply just it up from the office.

The room itself was nice. Clean grounds on outside of property, no structural damage,  clean sheets, nice soft bed, pillows were comfy and inside was well kept with a decent towel stock for showers. House keeping does a wonderful job. My only complaint is the room was so strong of smoke I had to spray some Scentsy room spray to be able to cut the smell down. I knew at booking it was a smile room, but wasn't prepared for the intensity upon opening the door. Perhaps ionizers to clean the air in your smoking rooms for the future. Overall, I would stay here again..even if I had a pet with me. It truly was a pleasant experience from staff, clean room, and felt safe while staying the night. Just remember if traveling with pets do tell them upon checking in, we pet owners appreciate those places that take care of us when we are traveling away from home such as myself. It's not always easy to find a place to stay when your exhausted from travels.



Pet friendly 

This was a clean hotel, with comfortable beds at a reasonable price.  In May we stayed in a downstairs room.  None of the rooms are carpeted, which we really like.  However, in May, the people above us were wearing tap-shoes for a while, and it was like being below The Lord of the Dance.  Thankful they removed their shoes soon after arriving and that became a non-issue. In August we stayed upstairs, and we had issues with the wifi.  The woman at the front desk was polite, but she blamed the wifi problems on me, even though they were her issue.  Her solution was to give me the password for the Best Western across the street, which worked.  The biggest issue we had was with the smokers and smoking-stations, one of which was on the walkway right outside our room, and two others that were right at the bottom of the stairways nearest our room.  In other words, while it's a non-smoking facility, it was impossible to avoid walking through at least one group of smokers for most of our stay.  Bottom line: there's nothing fancy here, so just expect a clean place to stay and a good night's sleep as long as the neighbors upstairs remove their tap shoes.

Stayed Here Twice: May and August

The hotel is ideally located if you are visiting the Badlands. The hotel has been recently renovated. The rooms are really comfortable, especially the beds that are high quality.
Staff was friendly and we had a great night of sleep.
Boxed breakfast are given to all travellers which is really convenient when you plan on hiking early morning.

Well located, recently renovated, great price!

This place does not wash sheet between visitors. Pulled the sheets back to find a red stain on the white sheets, scrubbed it with a wash cloth and it came out. Yuck! I have heard of this but never had the experience. So unbelievable disgusting.
