The hotel looks tired and it's extremely noisy. Rooms have old carpet, old bathrooms, old bed covers.  There is no privacy as you can hear the tv in the next room and pretty much make out the conversation folks are having.  The upstairs is also not insulated and when the people arrived at midnight, we almost jumped out of bed thinking someone had  broken into our room.  The price of the room does not correlate to the lack of quality.  

We have stayed at this hotel numerous times and will not go back.  It's had its day.

Bye Bye Winthrop Inn

Beautiful location, quiet. So far the best hotel we stayed with our little doggie.
Plenty of grass to run without restrictions.
We loved it. It is very close to the beautiful downtown with western charm, easy walk to the river. The grocery store is just few steps away.

Beautiful place

Room was advertised as premium bath amenities. First no hair dryer which is problematic during the winter as I did not want to go out with wet hair.  Second the shower did not have hot water… barely lukewarm.  Third the shower had a slow and annoying leak that kept everybody awake.  Fourth the hot tub was broken. Finally the breakfast did not start until 9am which is way too late if you are doing a full cross country ski day up to rendezvous huts. Will not go back.

All around a bad experience

It is noticeable how much the hotel is managed with care and love. I found all the comfort I needed at a fair price. Hotel with a good spirit as local managers usually do, something you don't find in fancy hotels

Excellent deal!

I've stayed at Winthrop Inn a few times over the past year and I find it consistently clean, well managed, very reasonable priced and most of all, quiet. Although the pool and spa weren't in working condition this last visit, it does appear that they are redoing the whole pool area. 

Clean, comfy and quiet 

The first room we were given had a broken ac unit, bugs on the walls and dirty sheets. We asked to be moved to a new room, with a horrible attitude from the employee saying “it’s only one night”. We tried to get into the room we were moved to but it had a broken lock and had to find staff again to be greeted with more huffing and puffing about the situation. The room we were moved to had no working lights, smelled like backed up sewage, had a broken shower head, mold in the shower, more bugs in the room, dirty sheets again, nasty stains on the carpets and ceilings, the microwave didn’t work, the curtains wouldn’t close all the way. Definitely choose anywhere else to stay besides this place, it was a horrible experience.

Choose any other motel besides this one!!

We enjoyed the stay in the hotel, the room was clean and confortable, good breakfast, big garden, parking lot and easy access. 
The town is beautiful to walk around.

There is also nice trails near to go hikking. 

Excelent hotel

The outside looks a little run down but the rooms are nice and clean.
Given text messages for room code and when we checked out. No need to deal with a person unless you want to.
Great place for the price and the staff is friendly. 

Unassuming

Perfect place to stay for our one night in Winthrop. Clean, easy access, lots of available coffee, towels, toiletries, fridge, microwave, etc. In other words, no skimping, which earns the extra star above TripAdvisor's rating.  Good price too. The big test is, would I stay here again. Yes.

Good night in Winthrop 

Our stay at the Winthrop inn was very nice. We loved the customer service that was provided over the phone, and the multiple text messages we received regarding our stay at the hotel. We also enjoyed the convenience of having a door code instead of a key card.
