Yes, the bed was comfortable, but as far as service and amenities, there were none. Had we known a tiny wastebasket, 2 paper coffee cups and sample sized bottle of body wash was to service us both for 2 nights, I would have passed on this stay.  Not even a continental breakfast was offered - no casino comps or free play, no incentives whatsoever: everything had to be purchased. The place itself was very clean and quite nice, but having to worry about a potential toilet paper and towel situation had us nervous.  At the end of our stay we noticed a tiny sign on the hotel desk apologizing for lack of service if you were staying multiple nights.  We did not avail ourselves of the pool (which we had been looking forward to) as it was covered with some sort of oily substance. Incidentally, no one else was in it either.

Nice basic room, but that was it. 

My nephew was kicked out of his room right at 11 o’clock . He had a  massage scheduled for 10 o’clock and went to his room at 11:02 he had to go to get the front desk to get another key to get his luggage. Housekeeping was very rude and said that he should’ve had that all taken care of. This is never happened before and we’ve left a few minutes after 11 many times. my nephew comes down here quite often. He has his own host and this was not a good experience OK

We had a good time for a weekend getaway and had never been there.  After crossing the sketchy bridge, we were happy to meet up with our 30 closest friends for a weekend.  We stayed in the old building by the outdoor swimming pool on the ground floor.  All of our rooms opened to the patio area (outdoor pool) and it was wonderful to just sit outside there all together.  It did need some major weeding and upkeep though.   We got a bargin rate of of $170 per night (stayed 2 nights) and while I didn't feel it was worth that price for just the room, I felt like having the open space and chairs outside made it better.  Great place for a group to get together.    It was older and the walls were thin.  Sink would not drain properly, but we didn't bring it up.  It was a clean room though.  Small fridge, no microwave.  We ate dinner at the sports bar and breakfast at the Gatsby's and both were good.  Reasonably priced.  Casino was ok.  All of the group that we talked with, one couple won for a couple hundred dollars, but that was it.  Not many slots hitting well.  If you are truly a gambler, this is probably not the place for you.  We never once saw a machine being wiped down.  They did have a southern rock band in the hall space (Nov 4) and they were absolutely wonderful!  We also went to East Liverpool and ate at the vault and really enjoyed that and all the architecture near it on the buildings.  It was pretty cool.

Housekeeping is struggling to make a bed correctly. It looked as though they never remade the bed:(
When I asked a housekeeping staff to remake the bed, she responded I don’t know how!
That exchange was witnessed in front of the front desk attendant. 
Hot tub jets don’t operate. 
WI-FI is verrrry slow…
I hope when I return tonight, things are a little better :-)


Mountaineer Casino is in desperate need of professional support and training. 

We had a very nice room in the tower. We were happy with our stay. Had a great time. Everyone was helpful and pleasant that we approached with questions. We will go back again soon. We watched the horses run from the casino. 

Nice hotel 

This is the first time we have been back to the Mountaineer in seven years.   When we were there seven years ago the large smoking room area was mostly empty & we were told they were going to do some thing in there.  Well, seven years later and now there is just construction going on in this area.   Very disappointing. We used to enjoy when there was a band in this area.  The rooms were clean however, they are in need of major updates.   The grounds were filthy.  Also, we were shocked to find out that they allowed a dog not only in the bar area where we were eating but also they allowed it in the casino… barking (& no this was not a service animal).

Maintenance needed

Over the course of seven months, I have found that the staff is irritated and impatient with the gas staying at Mountaineer gaming lodge.

I have stayed here close to 20 nights, and I feel as though I am interrupting or asking too much when I am in need of service. 

Covid is over but the Mountaineer gaming lodge isn’t aware of the country’s status? 

Slot machines are not loose and don’t expect to win.

This is the second time we have been there recently for a quick getaway and I have to say that we will return. Have yet to meet a grumpy person either in housekeeping, front desk, restaurants, overall. They seem to be especially friendly and helpful. They changed the hours for the restaurant and Big Al's which is a little inconvenient but we thought the food in both places was excellent though limited. I can honestly say that we can't get a sandwich or a meal in south Pittsburgh for the prices we paid at Mountaineer. The casino is bright and clean with many slot machines. At times you can play a long time on little money and at others the machines just eat money but  I can say that you do get a fair amount of play-much better than we get here in PA. No big wins but a little to keep playing. The rooms were clean and comfortable and liked the beds and pillows. Have nothing negative to say about it. All in all it is a very pleasant experience for a few days vacation.

The room was great, bed comfortable and comfy pillows. The slot machines were plenty and clean. The restaurant was a little under staffed, had a small wait for my meal which was worth the wait. Deffinatly will return soon. 


Good getaway place.

I enjoy coming to Mountaineer every few months for a night or two to relax and unwind and try my luck in the casino. The staff has always been friendly and courteous and the rooms themselves, though starting to show their age a bit, are clean and comfortable. On this trip however, when I checked into my room I noticed there was a steady stream of water coming from the faucet in the bathtub which I was unable to turn off. In all honesty it wasn’t that big a deal to me and it didn’t cause me any real bother. What did bother me was when getting out of the shower my first morning I happened to glance up at the ceiling above the shower and noticed several patches of mold growing there. I would think this is something the housekeeping staff should notice and report to management but apparently this is not the case. I can see the housekeeper maybe not noticing the ceiling, but in my mind they just didn’t care enough to report the leaking faucet. Management needs to address this with their housekeeping staff.
