You won’t find this connection with the outdoors in a hotel room!  We loved having a king size bed, shower, toilet and hardwood floors with a wood stove, yet we were in a tent with the canvas walls and could hear the coyotes and elk bugling.  It was amazing and the stars in the nighttime sky are beyond description.  Waking up to the views of the mountains never gets old and the evening sunsets over the mountains are so beautiful.  

We enjoyed the nightly music, campfires with complimentary s’mores and meeting many other folks staying at the resort and sharing adventures of the National park and surrounding areas.  The staff was friendly and attentive, better than in some of the 5- star hotels we have been in!  We loved the experience and plan to visit some of the other Under Canvas locations.  We spent 5 days and 4 nights here and it was a great way to see Yellowstone and the surrounding area lakes.  

Best of Both Worlds, between camping and hotel room

We had such a great time.  All the employees there are outstanding. From the booking to the farewell, we were treated to tremendous guest-focused attention.  The tent we stayed in had a bathroom and shower which were great.  The bed was very comfortable and there were plenty of covers for the upper 30's nights of September.

Great time

We stayed here for 3 nights.  Our first tent had a couple of issues and we were quickly moved to a different one. This time of year is cold. Some things we learned that made our stay better by the end: 1) ask for hot water bottles to put in your bed 2) ask for them to clean your room 3) make sure you get plenty of firewood and starter kits. 3) we rigged up something on the shower so I didn’t have to hold the handle while taking a shower. We used a carabiner and a water bottle to keep it on.  By the last night, we had it down. It’s a beautiful location. The evenings with live music and s’mores was great. They also have an assortment of games to play as well.

Not great!

If you feel adventurous but still want to sleep on a comfortable bed with a fluffy pillow, Under Canvas is for you. We enjoy our stay while visiting Yellowstone. The accommodations are comfortable and clean, the staff is friendly and helpful.and let’s not forget the beautiful Montana sky at sunset and at sunrise. Wonderful memories.

Our stay at UnderCanvas West Yellowstone was magical. The staff was very attentive, the area beautiful and our tent was a dream. From check in to check out, everyone was kind and helpful. We loved having the glamming experience and our children LOVED their kids’ tent. The evening activities were a hit with all of us and it was just so fun to hang out, meet people, and feel that our kids were in a safe environment. We can’t wait for our next UnderCanvas stay. 

Glamping at its family friendly finest. 

I took my mother here for a surprise 60th birthday and I wasn't let down.  The staff was amazing!  I'm already planning on going again but to another location since it was such a great experience.  Couldn't have asked for a better trip!

Amazing Experience

We were not sure what to expect, but wanted to try a glamping experience. Under Canvas did not disappoint. The setting was beautiful and we loved having the benefits of camping and being out in nature, but comfy in our tent. We were prepared for cool nights. As soon as the sun came up, the air and tent warmed up and the wood burning fire did it’s job to take the chill of until the sun warmed things up. The staff were enthusiastic, friendly and helpful. We loved the campfires, s’mores, live music and every minute. Only regret is we couldn’t stay longer because we were there the last 2 nights of the season.

So.Much.Fun!!!!!!

Awesome experience! Beautiful place and warming staff! We had a fabulous time!!! The tents were very comfortable and activities were very much appreciated by the whole family. Staff was very helpful and location was great to visit Yellowstone, very close by!

Wonderful time in family

We stayed two nights at Under Canvas Yellowstone, and I wish we'd booked more nights. We stayed in Stargazer Tent #10 and our friends in Stargazer Tent #11. Falling asleep in while watching the stars is a life experience that everyone needs. It was magical. 
We liked the eco-friendly vibe of the experience. Rechargeable lanterns, water conservation, light footprint, etc. The tents are spacious and the beds are comfortable. I gave it only 4 stars because the wood stove in our tent almost smoked us out of our tent unless we kept it almost to the point of a roaring fire. We inspected the flue and found holes rusted out along the indoor portion of the wood stove. So that needs repair.
However, the staff were young and friendly, the overall experience was great, the view from our front porch was fantastic. So I would definitely book nights in another stargazer tent at Under Canvas Yellowstone.

Falling asleep under the stars. Wow.

This was our 4th time glamping at Under Canvas Yellowstone!  (We have also been to Mt Rushmore, Glacier, Smoky Mountains and Zion). Yellowstone is the best!  The staff is always amazing.  The food at BarNRanch is delicious!  The location is dreamy.  My boys love fishing and swimming in the creek.  The music is fun, there are so many activities offered, and the ambiance cannot be beat!  It's truly one of the best glamping experiences out there.

I've seen people complain that they cannot have food in the tents due to bears.  It's not even so much bears as bugs and mice!  Because they take such good precautions, the accommodations are very clean!  We always get a tent with our own bathroom - but the community bathrooms are fabulous as well.

Definitely worth a night's stay when you're in West Yellowstone... even better, make it several!  We never grow tired of it here!  We are world travelers - and have been to nearly every state... and we always come back for more UC Yellowstone.  So of course we had to make a quick trip back before the season ended.
