We stayed at Hamilton House as a family group of eight. Gloria is a great host. She's a marvelous cook (CIA trained). Each breakfast was filling and flavorful.Her storytelling displayed delightful wit and charm. She captivated us with chapters of the House's history, as well as her personal story. 

The first floor of the House has a large music room with piano and a large sitting room for reading or conversation. There are two outdoor sitting areas for morning coffee or evening relaxation.

My wife and i stayed on the second floor, Dega room. It has a ornate king size bed with sitting area. The bathroom has a large spa tub, vanity and separate makeup counter with mirror. While the shower is smallish, it was more than adequate for my large size. The room is very large but has minimal natural light. The adequate lamps make up for this. The room includes a small refrigerator stocked with soft drinks and bottled water. 

Overall Hamilton House is clean and comfortable and makes a  great choice for family or business stays. You'll be fascinated with the beautiful original woodwork throughout the buidling

Great Breakfast and Beautiful Surroundings

Loved staying here. The innkeeper was so nice and helpful. The breakfast was amazing. The room was clean and comfortable. The linens smelled amazing. It was fun to hear the history of the house. Perfect comb-of history and modern amenities.

Charming

My husband and I had such a great nite here we never right reviews but this stay really stood out! We loved the room it was so clean and comfortable! The food was Excellent and the owner made us feel like home. She gave us the history of the house and was very fun. Would highly recommend this B&B it’s really a Jem!

Hamilton House Whitewater

My brother and his wife treated me to a weekend at the Hamilton Inn. (They had stayed there a year ago and raved about it - for good reason!) This gorgeous 1861 mansion is exquisite, perfect down to the last detail. The multi-course breakfasts, created by innkeeper (and Culinary Institute-trained chef) Gloria, were off-the-charts delicious and kept my belly full til dinnertime, even after a day spent hiking the gorgeous Kettle Moraine. 

I slept deeply on the luxurious comfy bed, but I'd eat saltine crackers and sleep on a cot to hear Gloria's stories! Gloria has a talent for being present but never intrusive. She'll give you a house tour with fascinating tidbits (from John Belushi to the Underground Railroad!) but ask about her journey from Woodstock NY to Whitewater WI for a rollicking story with a happy ending!

Sheer perfection

Hamilton House exceeded our expectations. My wife and I spent a long weekend at Hamilton House.  We came to hike Kettle Moraine.    It was our first post-pandemic overnight and we were impressed with the cleanliness. The history, woodwork, and details of this American Queen Anne gem alone are worth the visit.  However, the breakfasts were the best part.  The owner and chef, Gloria was a tremendous host.  We were anxious to hit the trails to work off her culinary creativity.  We will visit again.

Charming House, Amazing Breakfasts

My husband and I visted the Whitewater area due to great biking and the Kettle Moraine Forest nearby. We stayed at the Hamilton House and found our room cozy with comfy linens and the host, Gloria, was great at detail with our dietary restrictions.
Breakfast was outstanding. This 1861 house had many public areas to use like the parlor and porch. We are coming back.

Best Kept Secret

Beautiful historic house, very well-maintained, with comfortably furnished rooms and updated bathrooms. New owner is welcoming and attentive. Full hot breakfast served in the dining room at the time we requested. Location is in a historic neighborhood and walking distance to several restaurants. We totally enjoyed our stay. Short drive to hiking trails in the Kettle Moraine.

Delightful Bed & Breakfast in Whitewater WI

We decided on the spur of the moment to get away for a night, and Hamilton House was recommended to us.  The pictures don't even begin to do it justice.  We stayed in the Degas room.  If you love history, this place is dripping in it.  This house is beyond spectacular.  We slept great, the owner was attentive and friendly.  The breakfast was over the top wonderful.  Truly, we can't wait to go back.  Best B&B we've stayed at so far.  I can't say enough good things about this place.  The attention to detail was much appreciated.  Loved the owner (Gloria I think is her name).  Highly recommend.

Gorgeous House

Charming, exquisite, delightful and absolutely delicious meals are just some of the descriptors my husband and I use when talking about our perfect picture stay at this historic house. If you enjoy staying at B&B’s we highly encourage and recommend you check out Gloria’s place. Gloria was incredibly gracious and kind and her culinary expertise was most appreciated as we both really enjoyed her creative and amazingly prepared breakfasts. The 160 year old beautifully and impeccably decorated Second Empire style house is a gem. The rooms are incredibly comfortable and if you enjoy relaxing on an outdoor porch in a very peaceful and serene neighborhood, the Hamilton will not disappoint you. If you plan to stay in the area, we highly recommend staying at the Hamilton. 

A B&B gem nestled in Whitewater Wisconsin 

Like so many, my wife and I were ready for a respite from our COVID-19 exile. Two nights at the Hamilton House was just what the doctor ordered!

Built in the 1860s and a stop on the Underground Railroad, the spacious, high-ceilinged HH exudes history and charm. Innkeeper and owner Gloria Buley greeted us warmly; I like to think I could see her smile through the surgical mask she was wearing.

Our well-appointed room had a comfy king bed and a newly-constructed en suite. A wardrobe held two plush bathrobes; bottles of Perrier water, chocolates, and fresh flowers were on a table. Like our room, the common areas are immaculate and tastefully furnished with period antiques and Oriental rugs.

Our two breakfasts were highlights! Gloria's a CIA culinary school grad and it shows. Fresh-squeezed OJ, omelettes, French toast, baked apples, sausages, Canadian bacon--whew, I don't eat nearly this well at home. Breakfast was also a chance to get to know Gloria. A recent transplant from Woodstock, NY, she purchased the Hamilton House weeks before the coronavirus shut down the world. I'd be down in the dumps, but Gloria seems indefatigable and is using the time to, among other things, install a garden walk that will pay homage to the nearby Birge Fountain, circa 1903.

We're already looking forward to our next visit!

A tip: One of Wisconsin's best supper clubs, the Duck Inn in Delavan, is a 15-minute drive from the HH.
