Staff is welcoming and helpful there not the problem . The place is in need of extreme updates physically as well as safety.. steps are a nightmare .. slippery as hell. Also pool access if complicated . Not enough common area near the pool . Family’s in need of a kitchen are forced to stay in the building behind the pool since they have the kitchen then need to travel several flights of stairs . ((( dangerous for elderly and kids alike))) .. balcony’s are tight and a bit scary as all the railings in this place give you a heartache if you have small children. 

Ohhh and the pizza place attached Crazy Junky .. yes you read that right. Very over priced and taste like microwave pizza nasty !!! 

OVER PRICED , OUTDATED AND UNSAFE … SAVE YOUR MONEY . Unless your a couple looking to spend most of your time out of the room .

BEWARE !! NEEDS SAFTY UPDATES

I booked my room without reading the reviews first however, when I read the reviews I was horrified and sick to my stomach and I wasn’t going to be able to get a refund nor was there any other motel was vacancies so me and my husband had no choice but to take it. However when I got there it wasn’t anything like the reviews said it was. First of all the owner was very nice and accommodating to us he wasn’t rude at all that was the first thing that wasn’t true that I read in the reviews but I didn’t get to my room yet so I was still panicked at what I was going to find once I turned the key to the room. When I opened the door to my room I was pleasantly suprised the room was small however it was nothing like the reviews said, it was clean no roaches and mice no mildew on the walls or anything else ghat I read for that matter. So besides it being small which wasn’t a problem Bc it was just me and my husband plus I believe some of the other rooms was a lot bigger than the one that we stayed in if you wanted to bring kids or grandkids. Overall we had a nice stay and I would recommend it to others as well. I would definitely rent from them again the next time that it’s just me and my husband on vacation down the shore.

My trip down the shore and my stay at El Ray

It's an upgrade from sleeping on a bench on the boardwalk only by having a bathroom. If you only need a place to sleep and don't intend on spending any family time in the room, then it will serve its purpose. I commend the photographer for making the room look extremely bigger than it is. The pictures shown are from right after a renovation and the place has seen an unbelievable amount of wear and tear.

Upgrade from a bench

The place was horrific and dirty. It was like dealing w a slum lord. I lasted 5 minutes and I demanded refund!
I had dead flies on my bed. The bed linen was soiled. The bathroom and furniture looked like it was a product of the aftermath of superstorm sandy !!!
When I looked under the bed there was garbage from the prior people. The air conditioning unit was broken.
It was filthy. In a time of Covid 19 pandemic the place should be cleaned thoroughly!
Even the garbage wasn’t emptied from the prior people.
It was appalling!

Beware!

I arrived after booking with priceline.com. i asked owner if i could stay more time next day. He asked how long and i saifd till 7pm? He opened computer up and found my booking and it was cancelled. He told me it was cancelled and I shouldbe gotten notice. I didnt. We drove 2 hours. He said they are closed. I said i talked to him 2 days ago when entering credit info. He said it was his first day. He walked us out of office. A handyman in parking lot said town is closed and the owner was in office!!! The owner lied! We left today priceline called the office. Got Ronny who said they were open yesterday. They denied any wrong doing. I dont recommend this place.

Cancelled and Lies

This could be a long review but I keep it short . Within minutes after check in I requested my money back . Couldn’t get that done they gave me a different room 1st room was zero second room was a 2 on scale of 1 to ten .ten being the best. Hotel smells like piss and weed . Dirty everything. Horrible . Sleep on top of bed used my beach towels for blankets left a day early . Afraid to go in pool . Hotel should be bull dozed down . Don’t stay here . Only good thing man at desk tried to be helpful .but u just can’t fix total crap .

Don’t do it

The El Ray motel is dated as most Beach resort motels are. Surprisingly the motel had a nice outdoor pool, the rooms were very clean, and it had a mini refrigerator, microwave, and a coffee pot.. There was a restaurant located right next store that other vacationers raved about.

Wildwood

Room and bathroom much too small. Not very clean. Toaster was filthy. Noisy customers at the pool and management did not bother to quiet them down.  Poor service. I do not recommend this location to anyone.

Negative experience

NOT DELUXE
Rooms  TINY; VERY SMALL  - no closet 
Bathroom   5 x 8  feet -  OWNER  RUDE when ask for more towels since they fell into toilet. 
Air conditioner over the bed -HAD TO STAND ON BED TO ADJUST THE AIR



THE WORST PLACE - ITS HOBBILE

Hotel very well located.Courty and accommodating staff especially for extra towels. Cleanliness: it's badly clean, refreshed. Mouldings on the vinyl mattress cover of my room. No places to hang our towels and shirts that we need to dry. No mosquito net in the bathroom window. No space in the rooms to sit quietly and relax. The sun deck at the top of the building is inaccessible and barricaded. Around the pool there is no space. On the other hand, the outdoor shower is very close to the beach. The courtesy BBQ...close it! We forgot the wi-fi. The station under the building is super useful.
