Kathy & Jim have terrific place with a lake out back.  My room was appointed with an Alaskan theme.  The room was spotless and comfortable.  The breakfasts were filling and delicious.  Ask for the baked oatmeal with cranberries and nuts.  I would be more than happy to stay here again.

A Real Pleasure

Excellent stay at Kathy's and Jim's B&B. We enjoyed very much to get in touch with real Alaskan life in wilderness with the best view and the wonderful breakfast with our first taste of moose sausage.

Wilderness experience

Loved our stay with Jim and Cathy at the Alaskan Host B&B.  We were just there one night, but it was great!  Very neat and clean rooms and bathrooms.  We really enjoyed our time talking with Jim and Cathy before breakfast.  Jim was a wealth of knowledge as we shared about upcoming activities/sites on our Alaska trip.  Cathy made the best breakfast we had on our Alaska trip!!!  Yummy breakfast casserole, blueberry french toast, fruit and moose sausage!!  Our whole family (girls ages 9 and 11) loved trying the moose.

Great B&B!!

This BNB is a one of a kind.  The property is amazing.  The owner, Jim and Kathy are great hosts and the bedrooms are very comfortable.  These folks have great Alaskan stories to tell.  The living room is like a museum with many mounted game trophies. Kathy cooks a spectacular breakfast too.  If you stay here, I promise you to will say that these Alaskan Hosts are unforgettable!

UNFORGETTABLE

We drove from Denali after a loooong tour and got in at 1:00 am.  Kathleen and Jim were accommodating and all went smoothly.  If you follow their directions, it is easy to find.  Just don't use GPS. There were two other couples there -- one from Australia and one from Korea (but who live in LA).  We had a great, comfortable, delicious breakfast, sharing stories and watching for moose!  We didn't see any, but Jim has quite a collection of skins and mounted animals in his house.  He is a hunter, par excellence!  My husband really wants to go back and hunt with him!  We only stayed a few hours, really -- we had a plane to catch -- but the little time we were with them made the trip very special. Kathleen made a super breakfast. The beds were comfy.  Great place.

Great people and interesting stories

This was the first time we stayed at Alaskan Host Bed and Breakfast. Jim and Kathleen were wonderful hosts. Jim is very knowledgeable about the history of the area and shared many stories with us.
