I booked this place due to the low price. After checking in at the front office, on the way to my room I encountered dozens of flies. I was alarmed and wished my room was far away from those files, but it was not, only several yards away. My room was not upfront, instead, it sat back inside with another room, and from the front hallway to my room, there was a short hallway (or corridor), which was dark. The ground looked filthy, and I did not bother to wire glasses to check the elements, went right back to the front office asking about their return policy. To my surprise, it was a smooth procedure, I got my refund right away. I left without looking back. 

I easily checked in a nearby hotel with a similar rate (Studio 6, about $15 more). 

I've lived in the US for over two decades and had never seen any hotels like this. 
The government or relative authority should check this place out and either forces them to renovate or stop business.

This hotel is too dirty to stay, should be banned, .

We came to Wilmington for a family getaway. We were excited to go.. But that changed tremendously when we arrived. As soon as we walked in, our ENTIRE trip went down. We were In the room for like 15mins when the awful mold in the room set my asthma off! I had to be rushed to the hospital, couldn't breathe. My girlfriend took these pictures while I was in tht EMS waiting to go. I wouldn't bring my dog to this place, and I don't even have a dog!! The staff are rude and talk to you hateful. The non-smoking rooms still smell like smoke. There is broken furniture in the room, there is mold in the room, the socket in the bathroom is hanging off, the wallpaper is torn up, the pillows had stains, the refrigerator is brown and stinks, there are drug addicts wandering the parking lot, there's yelling, drug deals going on in front of kids and other tenants...I felt we should've gotten a refund with everything that happened. But when I called the manager, like I was told to do, they yelled at me and was rude to me. Put me on hold, came back to the phone and continued to yell at me. Very rude staff. I will NEVER return to this establishment!!

Me and my family tried checking in there was a drug dealer saw us come in,I used my debit card and we drove to tha room tha same guy that was at tha office followed us to our parking place and was messing around tha car in front of us,I went to to put my daughter in tha bathtub I turn tha water on I got sprayed wit tha shower I tried turning tha water off and retrying tha water and you couldn't cuz tha water had one setting and my daughter spotted a bug on tha bathtub and freak out crying,and tha refrigerator was rusted and tha carpet was nasty and our bedding had grease on it and one pillow we return had gum stuck to it and we returned it and I went to to sit in the chair tha chair leg almost broke,I had to take my girlfriend to tha er cuz tha smell in tha room triggered her asmasma,so I advised people going to check into a room be careful wat you might see and witnesse

Worst night mare!!!!

I set a reservation threw priceline for the Carolinian Inn, I arrived there at 11:35pm from a very nice evening at the beach. The first guy I got my room from was very nice he told me where I could get some food from, cause I was traveling with to kids ages 5 and 8 so they were tired and hungry so we were ready to eat and lay down. when i came back with the food, I couldn't find my room so i stop at the office for directions.That is when I met the other attendant I guess his shift starts at 12. when i ask for directions to my room, he acted like i was bothering him he was very sharp and rude pointing "Your room is over there all you have to do is drive to it" luckily my kids didn't hear it so i just got in my car and followed his rude directions. We found the room and we gathered our food and open the door. When we step in it smelled like it been wet in there for a long time and something was dead and decaying. The light didn't work so i was moving light bulbs to different lamps so we could see our bed area. I told the kids to wait at the door and don't touch anything. Of course the kids are in full complain mode by now. I look in the bathroom and the towels still had stains in them, at this point I didn't not want to see what the bed look like, at this time the smell was so strong that it was in our clothes. I go back to the office and ask for a refund. This guy is now super rude and creepy, he says he cant give me back my refund because I been living in  the room for a hour. I told him I just  came back with food you seen me when I ask for directions to my room. He did not give me back my money, and I had to drive home that night. So now they will not give me my money back, and the owner does not answer his phone. I could go on and on about the people drinking outside looking at you like fresh meat. Only thing missing at this Bates Motel is the  AX MURDER, and he might have had a room there. I recommend when you see this hotel please for your sake hit the gas and hit it hard.

Nice that they gave me a room for cash.  Nicely landscaped.  Too bad the pool was closed for the pandemic.  Evening Manager nice but unable to get me an extra pillow for Mom, he said he did nit have key.  The frudge frize our drinks, the ac was nice and cold.  The smoking room was poorly maintained, paint on the inside if the shower curtain.   It could be a cute vintage place.

Moms Birthday

Terrible places, don’t go there. We went into the room and there was mold, spider eggs in the window and the microwave plus tv didn’t work. Water damage to the ceiling, just a terrible place over all. Then we left ten minutes after going into the room and they told us they would refund the money, then a week later charges us for one night when we were there for ten minutes. They told us that we “ messed the room up”.

Don’t go there please for your Sake

I needed a place to stay for a couple of nights and found Carolinian on Booking.com. It was the only available motel around. I feel that because I booked through a third party that I got the worst room. Night stands ruined, wall not repaired properly, can’t fix cement log so can park in a parking spot, can’t keep shower curtain closed because of broken shower rod, no place to plug in cell phone let alone your laptop, tub backs up while showering and WiFi is the worst. Bed is old and needs to be replaced along with 3 flat pillows. Weather is 90 and pool closed already. Never stay here!!

Place out to be torn down.

This was the worst hotel that I had to stay, and I had to pay for this nightmare. There is no clean, there a lot of cockroaches, bad staffs. The smell is horrible. I had to stay there because I had there no option in Wilmington that day.

DO NOT STAY IN THIS NIGHTMARE!!!

We booked for two nights but checked out after the first night. Pros: good location, cheapest. Cons: tv didn’t work, only one light was working, pimps and girls standing outside most rooms.
Do not recommend for families.

Do Yourself a Favor. Don't Even THINK About Going There! The Facility is Severely Run Down and the Management is too Lame to Describe. I Arrived there,from out of town, and took a room. The television did not work...Asked for and was given another room!! That Room was already Occupied. Returned to the Office and was given another room!! This room the TV did NOT work, nor did the hot water, nor did the lock on the door. All 3 Rooms were smelly, dirty, and run down. Following the "3 and You're OUT" Rule, I returned to the front desk and asked for a refund, which they would NOT give me....I left anyway. The Facility and the Management are Deplorable.
