My husband & I had been driving all day and were getting desperate to find a hotel.  We saw the Quality Inn sign and decided it was time to stop.  The price was actually quite good and the hotel itself was fine, no elevator though.  But, when we checked out, I saw that we were charged a fee for the safe.  I hadn't even noticed a safe in the room and certainly didn't use it.  I asked about it at the desk, the clerk said they automatically charge it- I asked for it to be taken off which they eventually did.  It's not the price (as it's minimal), it's the idea of it.  And no mention of it until you get your bill.  I'm sure alot of people don't even notice it.

Positives...room was very clean.  Front desk person was efficient and I did get a room on the first floor as requested.  Negative...no real restaurants around or that will deliver to the hotel.  The noise in the room above was going on until 330 in the morning!  I went to call the front desk but the phone in room didn't work!!  Used my cell but not sure the front desk believed me...the noise continued.  Won't stay here again and it is pricey!!

Noisy but clean

Stayed here one night on Saturday night over Labor Day weekend. 

Pros:  Although there was a wedding reception taking place here same day we stayed,  it was not loud and I didn't hear a peep as we slept.  Beds are comfortable and the hotel was clean.  Checkin was effortless and the lady who checked us in was helpful.  There were 2 makeup wipes in the hotel room versus most hotels that only give 1 per room.

Cons:  Very expensive for the location and value.  No elevator and we were on the 2nd floor.  Breakfast was just ok.  The eggs and sausage were cold.  There were not enough chairs and tables for everyone to sit down to eat.  

Okay hotel

First we overpaid.  I get it, its graduation weekend at UW Platteville.  But at almost $200/night, I expect more and better.  When we entered room one of the beds had a gross amout of hair (like from a beard trimming) all over the bed.  It was disgusting!!  The toliet had urine on the back of seat and tank, and the top of the shower had not been cleaned in a very long time.  Called the front desk.  They came up and told us that they have had issues with the maid before.  They said they always change the linens, which was a lie, otherwise the hair would not be on there.  They also said they would clean the bathroom while we were at dinner and they never did!!  Lastly the breakfast was very dissapointing.  Very little selection, out of most and quality was poor.  Will not be staying there again.

Disgusting and crappy breakfast.

The staff is very nice and room was clean. Breakfast was your average hotel free breakfast that we were thankful to have provided to us. No frills, but quiet and safe. Our German Shepherd wasn’t bothered by anything in the room or at hotel, so that is always a good thing! 

Clean and average

Nice hotel, nice staff who went "above and beyond" when we needed some food items. The breakfast area is small but adequate. Large parking lot with plenty of space to walk our dog. Located "in the middle of nowhere" which means that we had plenty of space.

Very nice and quiet stay

The whole place was gross. The room smelled and we had to stay there, but we really wanted to just stay in the car. The hotel needs renovation, and the pictures on here are old. I would really just like my money back.

Gross. Never again.

As a group of 4 couples, we reserved 4 rooms well over two months in advance at this Quality Inn.  Upon arrival we had difficulty checking in at the quoted price.  We specifically reserved rooms (4) for 3 nights because they advertised an indoor pool and hot tub.  Upon arrival we found that the hot tub was not working and had not been for several days.  We were told by the desk clerk that the maintenance man would be there the next day with parts to repair it.  We checked in on a Thursday and stayed through Sunday - the hot tub never got fixed.  The "indoor pool" was ICE COLD - mot heated.  We mentioned that to the desk clerk and she told us that they shut the heat off in the pool over a week ago because the water reached 90 degrees.  We were unable to use the indoor pool because of the temperature.  They FINALLY turned up the pool's thermostat on Saturday - one day before we left!  The "exercise room" is no larger than a SMALL closet - with three pieces of equipment and barely enough room for two people to move from machine to machine.  The "bar" was only open from 3pm to 10pm and the desk clerk had to man both the front desk AND bartend - - and the desk and the bar are at separate ends of the complex!  In two of the rooms, the "in-room" refrigerator's did not work!  In one room, no matter how the fridges thermostat was set - it literally FROZE everything in it spoiling food that had been placed in it.  In the other, the fridge defrosted itself in the middle of the night and soaked the carpet beneath it.  And no - we did not leave the door of the fridge open! We were misled on the facility and totally dissatisfied!  I would NOT RECOMMEND this hotel.

NOT AS ADVERTISED

We were looking for a clean inexpensive hotel for the night and found it.  Rooms were nice and clean.  Beds are very comfortable.  The trip to Platteville is a piece of cake.  Standard continental breakfast, no frills but worked fine.  All in all I would stay here again in a heartbeat.
