Overpriced.Needs update badly in that all aspects indicate nothing has been to the place in 15-20 yrs. The amenities listed are not accurate. NO ROOM SERVICE! If you want clean towels you gave to go to the front desk WITH YOUR USED TOWELS to exchange.

Old, overpriced, bad shape

Where do I start ? This town and most of the businesses depend on snowmobile and UTV/ATV visitors . This owner doesn't understand that ! Are group of 16 (8 side by sides )  arrived by UTV after a 100 mile ride,  checking into our 8 rooms we where informed ( more like warned or threatened ) that we could not park by the building or our UTVs would be towed but yet motorcycle rode in and was allowed to park be building . I happen to have a disability placard as I'm a 100% disabled veteran. I was informed that I could not park in the handicap parking. The Clerk stayed that placard was only good for my car . Now when I was issued it I believed it was issued because of my limited mobility not because of what I drove . As for the rooms there may be a couple of rooms updated but ours was not one. As you can see in picture air conditioner was smashed as it was in some of our other rooms , as you can see our lights had pull strings . Our room had very few out let's and not a single USB port  . But as they advertise as amenities had a old alarm clock radio from the 70s . The hot tub could use some tlc . The breakfast was very simple,  but another sign of how the owner feel about there guests these bananas that are in my picture where part of what was offered for breakfast.  Now the positive. The rooms are very large lots of floor space for helmets and other gear . The Wolf's Den bar and restaurant deserve a 5* review . Had prime rib for dinner that was perfect, the au jus was very good. 

Feeling Offended/ will never return

We specifically selected this motel for another year in a row because it wasn't a chain motel and we were able to call and specifically ask for the same room we had in 2021. We called in October to book our three rooms together and when we got there one of rooms had been moved without even letting us know! Totally defeated the whole purpose of why we picked this motel. We cut them some slack last year with covid and not cleaning our rooms for any of the four nights we were there or taking our garbage out, but to still have NO housekeeping services in 2022 nd pay even is pretty ridiculous! The rooms are really run down! Comforter looks like it is 30 years, thin and pilly. Floor still had things on the floor so couldn't have been vacuumed real well.  The rooms smell very old and musty. 

To be fair, on the positive side the location is great!  Right on the UTV trail, gas right  very close, Dollar General and fabulous grocery store with the gas station!! It also has  a great bar and restaurant! Singing bartender was great for karaoke Saturday night! There is plenty of place to park your trailers and UTV's.

In need of renovations and housekeeping services

Stayed overnight for business. Got a room in the older section of the hotel. I understand part of the hotel has been remodeled. I suggest staying there. Our room had an actual key to get in and took us 5 minutes each time to jimmy the key to get it to work. Then we get in the room and it smells like cigarette smoke. Come to find out it was a smoking room. I didn't think those were even allowed anymore in Wisconsin. Smelled awful! Room was very outdated and disappointing for what we paid for it. Would I stay again? Probably not unless I could get in the new section which is another 20 or $30 more a night.

Be careful before booking

For $152, this place was a dump. Do your best to find somewhere else to stay. The place smelled like cigarette smoke and was in need of updating. The staff were friendly and attentive which is the reason I gave it two stars.

Yuck!

Our 3rd summer stay in 4 years (2019, 2021, 2022).  Stayed for two nights.  Room this year was best so far; even though no conditioning (due to type of windows).  Make sure fan blows warm air out, versus pulling cool night air in, as the tiny gnat flies will be sucked in through the screen.  This was a standard room, not the upgraded rooms.  The room had a working fridge/freezer and microwave.  Room price was lower due to no AC.

3rd summer stay in 4 years

Large rooms, clean, comfortable.  Location good.  On lake for fishing, free use of a couple paddle boats, on atv/utv trails, on site restaurant/bar.  Breakfast continental.  Coffee weak.  Covid protocol still in place and you will not get any services whatsoever to your room.  You have to ask for towels, toiletries, etc.  desk often unoccupied as employees are outside smoking.  Housekeeping honest re: arranging return of forgotton item.  Bar/restaurant was just ‘ok’.
May stay again but may look elsewhere for the price.

Still on covid protocol june 2022

We got a first floor newly renovated room. Obviously not new carpet, shower head or caulk. Geesh. What did they renovated to charge me more? New duvet covers???. It was okay and it didn’t stink. The workers were poor to medium pleasant, as was the breakfast. The beds &  pillows are what you’d expect for a cheap motel. I would stay here again if need be. Way over priced though.

It was, at the least, my stay was at the least, okay...  POSITIVES:  were FREE INTERNET, FREE CABLE & LASTLY OF COARSE. 2 double beds to rest my head. My room was cool because it has a back door which gave me alil more privacy. 

NEGATIVES : To be honest the cost was a little high up there per night plus a 200 dollar deposit. IT definitely could've used a better cleaning (the floors were sandy, and surfaces dusty needed a wipe down) one more thing was there was no blankwtsvon the beds and no coffee pot but thankfully a friend had one I could borrow.

All an all I had a pleasant stay,  on the bright side the owners were very kind  You can tell they are working hard to fix up the old and modernize the motel to help fix up a few minor changes.

alil to expensive, but nice location!

We have stayed here multiple times and returned due to the unbeatable access to the snowmobile trip. First the (only) good about this place: the attached bar and grill Wolfs Den. The food is very good and the staff is friendly. You will find that the latter is an exception. The blonde female that works at the front desk on day shift is an absolute witch. I can only figure that she’s the owner because no sensible business would keep staff like that around. In fact, the bar staff was the ONLY friendly and personable staff. Immediately upon pulling into the parking lot, you are hunted down by the parking lot monitor. He is also rude and obnoxious. The rooms themselves are terrible. Large but outdated and uncomfortable. The beds were bad a few years ago and they haven’t replaced them. Hard and lumpy accented by the worlds worst pillows. For two beds, you get 2 towels. The rooms smell and have grimy carpeting.  The forecast has been predicting an ice storm for days. They’ve done nothing as far as salting or sanding the parking lot and the evil one at the front desk said they have no plans to. They have a bucket of ice for by the front doors and that’s it. I don’t understand how you run a business like this. It is treacherous and dangerous but they don’t care. Overall, the place is gross. I really wanted to give the benefit of the doubt: they were very accommodating when I needed to modify our reservations at the last minute. We’ve stayed here before and it was ok. The rooms have never been great but the service and location made up for it. That is no longer the case. We will not return. Our first stay was 15 years ago and it’s declined ever since. Save yourself the trouble.
