The epitome of the Seedy Roadside Motel saying.

It was filthy and dirty. Actually checked out after a couple of hours to go stay at another motel in the area. 

It's cheap for a reason. Not places to walk to to eat, unless you're feeling like crossing a very very busy Route One.

Dirty

So basically, it's Your typical Trap house motel. Not a lot to expect but the typical, Dents and cracks in the doors funny smell when you walk in the room roaches in the freezer, etc. My biggest concern was the sheets under the bed weren't change. The had what looks like old blood stains and the y look like they've been used. I asked the front desk and the manager of I could change the sheets, but the manager had a problem with it. I told her I could change the sheet myself, she slammed the door in my face. When I asked for a refund, they told me they don't do refunds. Called and email Prince William County Health department. Still waiting for a response. First time at the motel, and it will definitely be my last time.

There are other good things like shopping centes and fuel stations nearby BUT NOT AT POTOMAC INN. 

When checking in at the front desk I asked and the receptionist replied that reservations cannot be cancelled...they hit my account immediately at the time of checking in at the front desk.

Hmmmmmm, I don't like to put things on the blast but this one has no room in my heart so it has to come out. Worst hotel ever seen. No words to describe how trashy/dirty this place is...insects, flies, colorful bed sheets on the bed to hide dirties, stinky rooms with  old rusty appliances (fridge, microwave etc.) and old tabletop TV maybe over 30 yr old. 

I worried a lot about my skin and the secondhand smoke scents all over the place. 

About 11pm I went to the front desk all I
saw " SOLD OUT" posted on the door (office). Receptionist done for the day. I  got out of my room and drove around to just to keep the clock rolling. This was my first time/night being in Woodbridge, VA.

IF EVEN YOU CANNOT AFORD FOR A BETTER STAYING PLACE FOR A NIGHT I SERIOUSLY ADVISE YOU SLEEP IN YOUR CAR if one is available to you. 

I would write a whole book on this but I stop here for now. Thanks for seeking for a true story.

Never Try IT

Judging from the other reviews I wasn't sure my stay would end per the title. On a tough day in DC lodging hunting, this was the only reasonably priced option anywhere close to Alexandria VA available. The front desk gal was not happy to be there but she wasn't gruff and handled my check-in quickly and matter-of-factly. The area might be off-putting to some, fairly industrial with a lot of construction but there were plenty of eating options, groceries, and drug stores nearby. Parking in front of your room is somewhat intimidating at night as there are many 'neighbors' roaming about from room to room or in the parking lot. The room was a smoking room so there was that to deal with. Unless its really reeking I usually adjust to this though I'm a non-smoker. The room was very dirty as far as the walls, cobwebs on the ceiling, and areas of the floor near the walls, holes in the curtain and walls, rusted fixtures, etc. There were two light bulbs for the 6 or 8 fixtures in the room proper, so I moved the two around for my needed use. The bathroom lights were all there. Here's the good though: the carpet in the main areas you will walk on appeared to be clean. The bathroom was reasonably clean (though the toilet paper roll dispenser was busted of the wall) and the shower was plenty good without the commented hot to cold variation. There is no hair dryer, coffee maker, the microwave did not work, there was frig but not sure it was working. The smoke alarm was sitting disassembled on the TV stand - there was no other one in the room. The TV was good, with the channels I wanted and a quality picture. The bed sheets were clean and the bed and pillows comfortable. The AC was on, drowning out most late night road noise, and refreshingly cool, so the night's sleep was quite good. I did add a towel to the bedcoverings so as not to touch the blanket or comforter, which are also commented as having unsavory qualities. So all in all, I watched TV, got a good night's sleep, had a refreshing shower for a low price. A roach carcass that hadnt been there before was on the entry floor as I was leaving, so perhaps not all roaches have standards after all. That's how it was - if you're desperate for a room this might be the room for you.

Did not lose life or property...

I truly wish I would have read the reviews on this hotel before stay. My fiance and I ended up staying here last minute when he had to change his flight land at Reagan instead of Richmond. They told us on the phone that the price was $100 including tax and charged us $120 once we got there- it was midnight so we just sucked it up. We get up to the room to find that it is FREEZING cold and that the little heater unit for the room barely works. It was a "non-smoking room" yet it smelled like a giant ashtray. The whole room looked run down and dingy. There were gross looking stains on the furniture and the worst part- 50+ long black hairs all over the comforter. Also, we went down to at least get a muffin before we left and they had closed the "breakfast" over 30 minutes before the posted time. So we left hungry, smelling like cigarettes, and exhausted. As a recent college graduate, I am used to staying in some cheap/sketchy motels like most broke college students but this was BY FAR the nastiest hotel I have ever had the displeasure of staying at. If they charged $20 a night it would be too much. DO NOT stay here.
