The lady that checked me in was friendly and she didn't charge me extra for my small dog.
Old motel with some rooms rented for the month or longer.
Lots of cables mounted on the ext. of the building. Probably for cable TV (never turned it on) or Wi-Fi (VERY slow).
Homeless people walking by the motel at ALL hours of the night.
Large dog next door barking and roosters crowing behind motel.
Alley behind motel was meeting place for all sorts of people at all hours.

On Friday April-13-2018 I left my room from 7:30 AM and returned back to my room about 1:30 PM and I had noticed that someone has been in my personal things and then I went to the office because I could tell that my bag had been opened up and not the way I had left it and then on my personal cellphone I had received a e-mail from the owners wife on What'apps can!!ing me Satanic I will see a lawyer about this (ASAP)

Not good

This place has friendly owners and is dated in the 50's. Some rooms have covered parking beside them. Place has new paint and rooms have wall covering consistent with the name. At $50 tax included and with the AAA discount. TV, fridge, air conditioner and microwave are dated but all worked. Sheets were thin and had a small hole or two but for the price I'm not complaining. Location to freeway and downtown was excellent and road noise not a problem. I'd go back but my travel partners wouldn't.

Good Price for the Area

We were pleased to find a room when we drove in to Yakima around 8 pm on a Thursday night in early August. The motel was well lit, colourful and inviting. The manager was fixing something in the back but soon appeared in the front office. He was very friendly and let me know he had a room for us. After clearing a space on the couch at front desk for me to sit, he went to find his wife to make sure the room was "ready". About 5 minutes later he informed me that the room was ready. I can only say that the lesson I took from this experience is to ask to see the room first if I am feeling misgivings (which at this point, I was). The motel appears to be the kind that rents out long term to locals. I am generally not overly fussy and have stayed in countless motels in my travels. There is usually a standard of cleanliness and evidence of maids. In this motel, for the first time in my life, I could not fathom sitting on that bed as it was.  We placed our own camping sheets on top of the sheets of this bed, after removing its limp and filthy looking covers. I am 100% positive the bedding hadn't been changed for some time. After our few days of camping we were looking forward to watching a bit of TV. The manager had handed me a remote control when we checked in. It went with the mammoth 1980s style TV in our room.  Eager as we were to watch some TV, the remote's grime-encrusted buttons sent me searching through our camping gear again for the saran wrap - no lie!  My wife and I joked about the crimes that had probably happened in this motel and what a blue light would show up - she didn't tell me until we'd left that there was blood congealed on the bathroom wall. I think I was trying too hard not to touch the shower curtain or anything else to notice the stains on the walls. We didn't place anything on the floor. I had Lysol wipes which I used on any hard surfaces and it was on these wiped off areas that we placed our belongings. I lost a pair of glasses in the motel room but left them rather than look behind the fridge where we recalled hearing a dull thud in our hasty departure the next morning. When we arrived home - wife, me and our two small dogs - we stripped on the back porch and walked straight into our bathroom to have a prolonged hot shower. Our clothing and sheets and anything else that touched that motel room were left on the back porch until the washing machine was full of hot water and bleach.

'Last resort' stop at Bali Hai, Yakima

So for those of you who follow my reviews, you will know that we like to give our business to average, middle of the road, medium price motels.   Honestly appearances here were a little deceiving.   The room looked clean, until closer inspection revealed yukky spots in the bathroom.   And hanging cobwebs from the curtain rod.  Stuff (!)  on the walls.   One huge negative for us was the lack of an ice machine.  When we finally leave the car for the day, we enjoy a cocktail  or cold pop.  I was told by the manager that could give me a little ice, but I should drive to the a.m. p.m. mini mart for a bag of ice.  He did, after asking twice, give me a small zip loc bag containing about 8 ice cubes.    So I later bought a bag, but hmm, where to put it?   In the bathroom sink, so it was  not usable.  This was admittedly a small thing, but an important one if you are in the hospitality business.  Don't look for a hair dryer.  Some places at this price point don't provide them.  Accepted.  But no shampoo?   A sliver of soap?  I would also put some type of shelf in the bathroom for toiletries.   The bed was so-so.  Good location on the main drag of Yakima was probably the best feature.   Oh, one odd thing happened- we used the telephone for a local call to a single person house.  While on the line it was clearly heard that someone had picked up an extension and was listening in.   Hmm.
