My family has stayed at the villager for over 30 years . This is clean comfortable family operated facility. 
All the staff members are friendly and attentive. 
It’s location is perfect with walking distance to beaches , restaurants and local attractions. 
The property is quite and well maintained.

Home away from home

I had a fantastic experience. I was in town for a wedding where the hotel block was for $500ish a night, so to find something at the price I did I was thrilled.  It was clean, run by nice people, good location, good price. 

My biggest fear with summer hotels/motels is ALWAYS the air conditioning; I absolutely cannot sleep when it's hot. Those suckers blasted cold air all night long; it was heavenly! I slept better than I do at home to be honest. My other fear is cigarette smoke; did not catch a whiff of any tobacco. Completely clean and 100%. 

Location is great, the area it is in is very walkable and was very close to the tourist attractions. It was quiet as well. 

I found everything to be completely clean. It's more barebones in comparison to some other places...but it's supposed to be that way and those other places are more than double the price. 

There was a bed with a normal mattress and pillows, outlets near the bed and behind the bed where I could stick my phone charger, two a/c units, a shower, toilet with sink, a TV I didn't use, a small sink and a little K-cup coffeemaker and...get this...a roof over my head! Like really, when you're going to the beach, how much time are you spending in the room? Go to sleep, go to the beach, take a shower, repeat.

We decided to extend our stay and they were able to accommodate us on short notice. It is inexpensive, but they have everything you need if you ask for it. There's no reason to spend a lot of time in your hotel room in York. I've been coming up here for 37 years and I've stayed all over town. The Villager is clean and consistent. You can walk pretty much everywhere in 15 minutes, so it's a great location. The pool was closed because we came up after the busy season, but it was always clean during previous stays. Staff is friendly and helpful. Will come back to stay again.

Great Location

These people are hard working and so helpful Absoulutely wonderful . My family had a FANTASTIC time in July . Iys was a great unforgettable time for our family . Our children loved the swimming pool .We will be returning in 20 ! Thanks for a great stay

Fantastic wonderful place on York Beach !

All I can say is how dotted stay in business? The place is a dump! Deco is circa 1960 never upgraded, the beds are low and flat as are pillows. No hair dryer, no alarm clock, no coffee maker, no plastic cups and no iron! Pool was a disgusting mess. You are better off sleeping in your car! Location is only plus.

The Villager was exactly what I was hoping to get.  The room was huge, had a pretty sweet kitchenette, clean and just a short walk to the beach and extremely short drive to all of the York amenities (including the  Nuble Lighthouse and Fun-o-rama).

So, paid 265 for a two bed room. Terrible. No water in the bathroom sink. Only 2 towels in the room. Informed the manager. She told that she would send more towels… never.. Hot summer days. With 2 little kids. Swimming pool closed…. Terrible , please stay away… No internet…

No towels

We stayed at this hotel for one night because it was the only one available on Columbus Day Weekend.  We had to go be at swim meet at 6:30am on Sunday morning so we stayed Sat. night.  I know now why they say you get what you pay for.  I wasn't expecting much, but the other reviews said it was a no-frills hotel, but clean and comfortable.  The price was right so we booked (myself, husband and 9 year old twins).  The room was as expected, clean, nothing extra.  The beds were a little saggy, but I could live with that based on the price.  Now the problems - my daughter went to take a shower and there was no hot water.  I walked to the office (which was still open) and was told to let the water run.  We did, and finally got hot water after about 15 minutes.  It was getting chilly that day, and got fairly cold that night.  We turned on the heat -- no heat.  We cranked it to 90, still no heat - all night no heat.  We were quite uncomfortable.  The blankets on the bed were thin and did not keep us warm.  We couldn't wait to get out of there and turn on the heat in the car!  By the time we realized there was no heat, there was no one to call.  Office closed.  In any event, we would never stay there again.  Even for the lower cost, hot water and heat are a necessity.

Don't go if it is cold outside!

We  have stayed here for several years.It is not fancy,but is clean and comfortable.The staff is friendly and helpful.The rooms have the usual amenities and it is a short walk to the beaches or downtown York Beach.Parking is free,and the rates are more than reasonable.We have never been disappointed .
