Far from the terminal (15 minutes on foot), dark rooms, poor shower boiler, spiders and ants in the room, and the slowest wifi in the whole South America: this place definitely needs renovation and not worth the price.

Not recommendable

A nice place to stay in Colonia. It's a bit far from the center (a 7-10 min walk). but the neighborhood is quiet and looks very safe. Teresa is a very welcoming host. The room was nicely decorated but felt quite wet (because of the wet climate probably). We rented a car, and it was very easy to park it right near the entrance. 
There's a kitchen, wifi is free.

A nice place to stay in Colonia

We stayed two nights, the bed was comfortable, the shower was fine. Its 15 minutes walking distance from Colonia's center, and 5 minutes from beach. The owner was really nice and showed a lot of hospitality.

A very nice experience

We stayed one night and found it to be a lovely spot. We had everything we needed, the shower was fine, bed comfortable enough and a room big enough to sleep 8 ppl, even though we are only a couple! Teresa the host was especially helpful, she went out her way to encourage us with our spanish and looked after our bags while we explored the town before our bus came. There were minimal supplies in the kitchen but Teresa was happy to give us everything we needed to make a quick meal so this was not a problem. It is about a 15 minute walk from the old town area which is good to note but we never minded this. We arrived at night and found the streets to be a little dark getting to the house but felt more reassured once we settled in. I might have felt less safe walking at night if i was a female travelling by myself though. I would certainly recommend this place, we enjoyed it despite it being off season and winter at the time of our visit.

A sweet place

My mother and I stayed here for a couple of nights. I thought it was alright, the host was very helpful, and the garden was nice. The beds were uncomfortable though, and it was about a 20 minute walk to the touristy area. As a hostel I think it's quite good.
