We really enjoyed our stay at this hostel. Although it’s slightly shady location, but that’s how we perceived Huaraz overall, we felt very safe and comfortable. In our case, the room was ready even before the official check-in time, which we appreciated a lot after a long journey by bus. It was also nicely clean and tidied. There is a common, well-equipped kitchen that can be used for personal cooking. This can be quite handy when staying there for a longer period of time because one will get tired of eating bread with marmalade every single morning. 

Now, I would like to highlight one thing that really helped us a lot. The guy who owns this hostel can organize multiple trips or other activities, for example, one-day trips to Laguna Parón or Laguna 69. Since we arrived in Huaraz on Sunday, all agencies for travelers offering such trips were closed. We asked him on Sunday evening if he can arrange one of the trips for Monday morning. He organized everything immediately and we truly enjoyed both of our trips. We could directly pay him and most importantly, the prices were exactly the same as if you had them organized by any of the local agencies. 

For dog lovers, there is also a super cute, cuddly and friendly dog that welcomes you at the door sometimes. 

Overall, we had a good experience with this hostel. I would recommend this hostel to backpackers and hikers. Nevertheless, this hostel is also family-friendly. 

Reasonable hostel offering multiple trips and adventurous activities

The cheapest hotel in town. There is a nice patio here, the room is spacious and clean, the bathrooms are ok but need some renovation. We pay 990 UYU for a double room. There is a lounge where you can sit in the evening. They serve breakfast.

The place is well located but it s too expensive for what they offer = nothing.
Shower barely work, I only had a little bit of water to shower (don't think of doing your hair with that).
Beds are hard (piece of wood) and it's very very warm in rooms (no airco).
Bathroom are old and not very clean.
I don't recommend it, there are other hostel nearby, I wish I have seen then before I went to this one...

The place has a good location close to the historic center and right on the main street where you can find all restaurants and shops. It was also rather cheap, like 30 euros for a private room occupied by 2 people, incl. breakfast. The room was simple, but quite big and the beds were comfortable. No airco or ventilator, so it was quite hot. Breakfast was very simple (bread, dulce de leche, butter - so nothing for me as I'm vegan) with very weak coffee. Showers are shared, and were very very bad. There was simply no water coming out, which I discovered when I was already naked of course. Wrapped in a towel they guided me to some disgusting shower in the back that was all dusty and not cleaned, as that was the only place that had water. Kitchen is really dirty too, we didn't want to use it. I liked the communal spaces and the big shared patio, really nice building! They should paint and decorate it a bit more to make it really look awesome, they have so many opportunities with a building like that. Wifi works good. Staff is really friendly, which I know because I speak fluent Spanish... they don't speak anything else though, which is kind of weird when you work in tourism (but quite normal in Latin America, sadly).

Overall: It was fine. Not the worst, not the best, but alright for a night.

Nothing special, but alright

Don't expect luxury or comfy beds, but the showers were great (once you left them long enough to heat up). Location is perfect, really near the centre and walking distance from everything. They also have a connection with a local who takes people out on horse treks, you ride through the local countryside and on the beach! I absolutely LOVED it, they were very relaxed and I wasn't nervous once. I kept my valuables on me, easy for people to just walk in.

You get what you pay for.

Cheap variant at Colonia del sacramento just at the centre near historical quartier and ferry station. Modest furnitured room, quiet despite centre, normal breakfast in the patio of hostel. Budget choice for one night.
