This was our second stay in La Paloma. I am from Scotland and my family with 2children live in the city of Buenos Aires. It was a brilliant place to spend the week. Very close to the beach, with a small but adequate pool and a bit of garden to sit and read a book in. The little houses were very comfortable and roomy and clean. The kitchen space was also good. The whole ambiance was maintained by Daniel who met us on arrival. He could not have been more pleasant and very very helpful. He is a mine of information about the local,area and very happy to share this to make your holiday the best. On the Thursday there was. A communal meal organised by Daniel with kids entertainment. This was so nice and meant we got to know another family. I can't praise Daniel enough! So really do recommend the Coco Loco lodges. 

Perfect relaxing place

Great cabañas, hosts, neighborhood and people in the erea. It's a very relaxed place. Abut 200 meters to the beach. Cabañas also have an outdoor asado (barbecue grill) you can use. Had a fantastic time.

Wonderful owners

Great cabañas in La Paloma. We stayed in winter in 'Tequila sunrise' for one week. The kitchen is well equiped and the shower is perfect. Daniel and Mechthild are really nice people. They gave us a lot of advices for daytrips and the best shops and restaurants in town. Because we didn't have a car, they even brought us to Laguna de Rocha, so we only had to walk back. A really nice place to stay!

Great cabañas!

This was my first trip to South America coming from the USA. After spending time in Montevideo with little sleep (too much traffic noise) relaxing a week at the Coco Loco Lodge with Mechthild and Daniel was a welcome reprieve and I am so glad I had the opportunity to also get to know them.   The lodges are beautiful and  the outside area include a swimming pool, a swing set and area for kids to play, so also a great place for families. The pictures posted here don’t do it justice.  They have 6 modern self-contained lodges with air conditioning,  TV,  wifi and a patio with a barbecue pit. . I enjoyed swimming and also eating outside in their garden surrounded  by beautiful trees and blooming flowers this was in autumn (middle of March). In addition to spending a relaxing time here every day,  I enjoyed long walks on the beach which is a 5 minute walk away from the lodges. Since I was there after carnival and before Easter, the beaches were not crowded.  I was also really impressed by the versatility of the owners not were they wonderful hosts   (picked me up from the bus station, arranged massages for me and also trips)  but they also have lived, worked and/or studied in China, USA, England, Germany,  several South American countries and now have settled in La Paloma, Uruguay. The amazing thing was that between the two of them they speak several languages fluently including Chinese, German, English, Portuguese, French and of course Spanish.   Since I could not understand why they had received low comments on Trip Adviser,   I asked them about it and they told me these were comments directed at the previous owners. Again, great place to stay.

Excellent place to relax

It's a beautiful place, near the beach, all bungalows are well decorated. The owners are very sympathics as the ambience. We recomend even in out season, when they have horses trips, kitesurf and other sugestions to profit your time. Thanks Daniel and mechthild.
