Upon entering my room I felt a stale smell. The double-room was ultra-small and there was room to open my suitcase on the bed only, not on the floor. The windows could not be locked, hence I needed to close the shutter during the night. Also the bathroom was suitable for small people, barely 2 1/2 m2 including shower. Mould in the bathroom. Two small bars of soap and no shampoo.  No smoke detectors and no evacuation plan in the room. The safe was useless, as my ipad and other valuables could not fit into the tiny box. Breakfast at a price of USD 6 was meagre, virtually nothing (see photo) and the coffee was so weak I could see the bottom of the cup. During my two nights at this hotel, I had one breakfast only. However, the bright spot was the bed; very hard and good.

Hotel needs refurbishment

The room was clean, cozy and comfortable. The rooms were not perhaps as large as would have been portrayed in some of the Spanish language translations of the reviews here on TripAdvisor - though they were not too small either. The staff were pleasant.
The storage room for bags was not very large, and the Wifi was functional, though the signal was a little weak in our room (on the 01st floor).
Breakfast was typical of South America - though we had to put the cereal into a cup as there were no bowls.
Our bedroom had an ashtray in it, though we did not notice any smoke related artifacts (smells/stains) in the room.

Pleasant

We love the staff at this hotel. The service has always being impeccable. We love to get back and our cloth is clean and folded on the bed. My kids love the chocolate machine and fresh pastries every morning. The rooms are small but the big heart of the staff make it all up. The bathroom are small but fully renovated and the water pressure is great and the water is warm.  They do not provide shampoo but the showers are clean and the towels are real clean and soft.  The hotel is not a big hotel but its just what is needed if you used the hotel to go to sleep in a safe place close to restaurants and stores...We love this small gift in the middle of Salto

We've been there a couple days for holidays.
Hotel is small, but nice, in the core of the city
People have been careful and friendly with us all the time
We found it was an excellent choice to stay in Salto

Excellent small hotel

Great location in Salto, in the middle of everything. The friendly staff waited for us to wake up for breakfast, and washed and folded our clothes quickly...just in time for check out. Although the accommodations weren't fancy, we had a much better experience here compared to the snotty attitude at the casino hotel down the street. 

The room was quiet and very clean, a bit small, but we felt safe and at home. I actually saw the housekeeper move the bed to clean under it, very refreshing to see! It looks like they are in the process of making upgrades, which is a good thing. The breakfast was cute and a great perk for the price; coffee was strong and fresh pastries were yummy. Parking down the street was also very convenient to have. 

The hotel could use better bedding and bigger TV's, but besides that, it was the cleanest and most homey of the hotels we stayed during our month vacation in S. America.
