We had two nights in villa my long which definitely was one of our highlights during our Vietnam trip. The staff is very polite and courteous, taking care of their guests and fulfill every wish... especially Jack made our trip unforgettable - ask for him! You should go with them to the floating market at 6am, it is really local and authentic. You go by boat and this is almost the most impressing part as you see dust in the dark and sunrise etc. We also did the bike tour in the afternoon and Jack explained us everything about fruits, cacao, religion, Vietnamese culture etc.
The house is clean and the rooms are very big. We enjoyed a good breakfast on balcony.

Unforgettable authentic experience

The experience of arriving by boat through the Mekong delta area jungle was certainly unique. The staff was friendly and nice. Pickup/dropoff was easy and helpful.  That said, I have a lot of issues with this place.  I chose this partly based on the location shown on booking.com to be close to the floating markets . The problem is, the location they show on the booking.com site is not actually the location of the villa, but of the pickup point where they pick you up in a very rickety boat with no life jackets (see attached photo for difference in location). We are all strong swimmers but I can't help but wonder what would happen if one was not. You're then transported 30 minutes away by boat (30 minutes farther from the floating markets) to the Villa where you're effectively a captive audience. You can't go anywhere else to eat and you can't take any tours other than the ones they provide. Both the food and the tours were overpriced for what they were. We paid $8 per person for a dinner that was basically fried chicken legs, some spring rolls and green beans. By Vietnamese standards that's a huge rip-off as we ate multi course meals in some rather nice restaurants all over Vietnam for much less. Similarly with the tours. Other reviewers have mentioned the "free bikes" but there are no maps or any way to figure out how to get around on your own so we opted for the bike tour. At $15 a person that's basically paying the tour guide the equivalent of several days' salary ($60) in Vietnam for taking us around on the free bikes for 3 hours. Similarly with the $25 floating market tour - in Saigon we took $25 a head motorcycle food tours (with 4 drivers) that included food at 5 restaurants/stands. This was a ride in a rickety boat where we had to pay for fruit/coffee etc. and it seemed like the staff were getting fruit kickbacks from the vendors. Overall, our assessment was that this is a "homestay" without soul - the owner apparently lives in Paris and it's clear that it's a profit maximizing business rather than a real homestay. We enjoyed the Delta region but would not return here.

Captive Audience - Poor Value

Villa my Long is absolutely a great place to stay, Located in the Mekong Delta, it can only be reached by boat. This takes about 25 minutes from pick up point. The villa is managed by Jack, a very nice and talkative guy and owned by Pierre, also very friendly. The serve 3 meals a day especially made for you. The quality of the food is absolutely good. The rooms are large, clean and modern. We booked a cycling tour and a trip to the floating market, all very nice and well organised by Jack.

I can recommend this place to families with children, the location is unique and very quit.In the evening, there is nothing to do but reading a book on the waterfront and playing games with the kids was good.

Great place to stay

Location is highly recommended, you will be picked up by boat and brought to the villa. The boat tour is already nice as you get to experience the Mekong Delta. The villa is very comfortable and spacious. Pierre, the owner, is very friendly, and has the perfect combination between being chatty and offering privacy. The villa has both the comfortability of a hotel and the nice experience of a home stay. The food is delicious. Also make sure to do the tour to the floating market with tour guide Tung (Tim), a local who is enthusiastic about the fresh products on the market and can guide you to the best places. Location is perfect to stay for 2 nights.

Unique experience

Beautiful villa in the heart of the Mekong. The staff were excellent and made us feel completely at home. We are travelling with our 6 month old baby and every effort was made to make our stay comfortable even in the jungle! 

An Adventure. 

Really enjoyed our stay here. The owners were lovely and very helpful. We did the bicycle tour with them and the floating market in the morning. Lovely journey to and from the villa by boat too (even better at 5:30 in the morning as it was getting light!).

Lovely spot in the Mekong Delta

Great little place to stay. The staff were friendly and helpful and the food (lunch/dinner) was amazing (might be worth ordering a little less, we were unable to finish it all when we ordered the whole dinner package (entree, soup, main, dessert etc)).
Was a Little bit like a BnB.
There were a few tours available, and it was interesting to wander around the local area. Good for a few nights stay.  Need to travel by boat to get to main town area. So probably best to stay here if you don't want to do alot of back and forth. 
We have recommended this place to our Friends and Family.


Great Experience.

If you want to experience the Can Tho area and Mekong delta, go to Villa My Long! It is in the middle of the jungle, only access by boat or motorbike. The hotel has got very good standard, especially for the location. You get authentic Vietnamese cousine made by a local cook. The guide is very good in English, and first hand knowldege of the area. We stayed 3 nights, and that was a perfect length. One guiided tour to the floating marked and one to a wedding cake factory (it's not what you think, it is food but not cake). All in all a fabuolus experience!

Fantastic place and service

Loved this experience. The boat pick up into the Villa sets a wonderful tone even in a tropical storm. The staff at the villa are wonderful. I was disappointed that the villa is set away from the river completely and there was no relaxation points on the river. I did see some shots on the web which I felt showed that arrangement, however and back on the positive. The villa is very very nice, well presented, large inclusive dinning area, the bedrooms are comfortable and beds relaxing. We did the bike tour to the chocolate plantation which was fabulous and a real education. The main host and staff are great so would recommend this stay.
