It's not often I bother to write a review, but I just had to write one for this place. It has everything that you don't want:
Mould, Ants, dirty bedsheets (actually I wouldn't call them bed sheets, more like a duvet without a cover), someone's else's hair on the bed, noise in the hallway throughout the night, and cold water in the morning for a shower. Avoid this place at all costs.

I thought booking through TNK Travel would have provided better accommodation as they operate tours through here regularly.

Not great at all

I stayed at this hotel as a part of a tour through TNK travel. It appeared to be a budget hotel that held many people for tours. There was a cockroach in the bathroom and overall cleanliness could be improved. The staff at reception were not friendly upon check in or when I went to reception to ask a question. The door to enter my room was too narrow and I had to take off my backpack whenever going in or out of the room. The hotel was in a good location, walking distance to the harbor, and appeared to be safe as it had double locks. It had air conditioning and a fan.

Budget hotel with cleanliness problems

We spent 3 nights in this hotel. It's ok but not crazy. Good bathroom with shampoo toothbrush and shower gel; Room Ok but not feng shui at all : A bed in front of a window and a miror and AC. Windows are so tiny that you can hear a lot outside and you'll be wake up really early because of the sun.  
Good services, they are nice but sometimes difficult if you don't speak Vietnamese. They can wash and dry your clothes that is pretty nice.

Dirty, musty, noisy & unsafe.

The guest room hallway is hot and humid. You can feel the heat once you are out of the lift. We then realised the heat were from a couple of aircon compressors fixed inside the hotel, blowing hot air within the enclosed place.

Unsafe! While sleeping, I realised someone was trying to open our room door! Glad that we remembered to lock it! There was a window that opens to the common walkway. Do remember to lock it for privacy and safety as it is big enough for a small size adult to climb in and out. Such windows are common in this hotel.

Noisy as this hotel has local residents / guests that speaks / shout in the night and early morning. They slam doors too!Dont need alarm clock. You will be up by 5am.

If you have a tour with TNK Group or Greenland Travels, do check your hotel. This hotel has a long term relationship with the TNK Travel Agency even a sign was made permanantly for the business.

Part of TNK Group Tour Hotel

Stayed here as part of a tour with TNK Travel.  Front desk kept passport overnight which made me feel uneasy.  Second, upon check-in, the room felt used and unclean but it's a 2 star hotel so to be expected.  Next, as I was taking a shower after a long day a lizard scurried out of a hole in the bathroom wall.  Now I'm not scared of Lizards but it made me wonder what else was going to climb out of that hole so I made sure I slept with the bathroom door shut all night, it was late and I didn't want to bother with switching rooms.  As I was trying to fall asleep, noisey guests kept roaming the halls which wouldn't normally be an issue but the doors are more like those found in a bathroom stall and offered no sound proofing what so ever.  I finally fell asleep around 230 only to be woken up 45 mins later to what sounded like someone smashing a metal pole on my room.  Turns out the Buddhist temple next door was slamming their gong (apparently every night). This lasted until 430 am.  Finally relieved when it stopped I closed my eyes only to be woken up to Roosters the second the sun started to come up.  After traveling all through south east Asia this was the only hotel that left me with a bad taste in my mouth.  Spend the extra couple bucks and stay at one of the many near by hotels.

No Sleep

Would never have stayed here or picked this myself but it was part of my 3 day tour with tnk travel. The only people staying there were on tours. Very dated and didn't feel clean. Very uncomfortable bed. They keep your passport over night which I think is unnecessary. I didn't enjoy the breakfast I had an omelette and the middle was quite raw so I couldn't eat it all. We are westerners and the staff didn't make us feel very welcome. I just felt uncomfortable for my entire stay. The tour guide warned us to take all belongings with us if we were to leave the room as they would get stolen. And said to check entire room upon check in to see if things are broken otherwise they will charge you for replacing things you didn't break. 

Did not enjoy 

This hotel was included in a Mekong Delta Tour package.

It is located just a short walking distance from the famous street market, boat dock, and riverboat restaurants.

The neighborhood is not particularly nice and there are better streets with other accommodations, but this is a good low-budget choice. Yet no matter where you stay in Can Tho, you cannot avoid the dark cloud of racist hate that permeates this city.

Check-in ease was average considering I have a Viet fiancee and the tour guide stressed how the locals detest interracial relationships of the Viet to Caucasian kind.

The hotel is dated and at first glance of the lobby I thought "What the hell have I gotten myself into?" My worry subsided when I got to my room. The room was very clean and well-maintained. The room had a unique ambiance with a boutique-style feel to it. The bathroom was fully functional. The bed was of average comfort. No critters anywhere as far as I could see. Shower separate from the toilet and sink as I prefer (not all Viet hotels are this way but most modern ones are). The room was not a large room and just big enough for two beds (we are after all unmarried) with a small table, and an armoire. Cozy for certain.

The hotel was quiet (we were on the 3rd floor) except for a fire alarm triggered by some fool smoking in his room.

Breakfast was solid. Tasty but a slightly smaller than average portion size. We had omelets and fresh French bread with cream cheese. We each ordered extra food not included in the package price (it only ran a couple of dollars extra). The iced milk coffee was very delicious.

Warning about Can Tho: The locals (including the police) are enraged when they see an Asian with a Caucasian. If you are faint at heart and cannot take the angry stares and rude comments, Can Tho may not be for you. I simply hugged my bride-to-be tighter than ever and showered her with much affection.

Clean, Quiet, and Dated with A Unique Ambience

We stayed at this hotel as part of a tour. We stayed 2 nights. I wouldn’t come back here. 
The room was clean enough and had a bar fridge and is centrally located which are  positives. 
But the room a terrible smell coming from the drain in the bathroom. They also didn’t initially provide us with any soap, yet had shampoo and toothbrushes. When I asked they said they don’t supply it, but after complaining about that they brought some up.i suspect when you’re on a tour they remove basic items. 
The beds are quite hard. It can also be quite noisy with other tourists getting up early.
The air conditioning was noisy and not very cold. 
Breakfast was really terrible. This is my 8th trip to VietNam and I’ve never had such a bad breakfast. We had options of about 8 small things which were all very basic. No fruit or Juice. I ordered fried noddles which was just noodles in a bowl of water.  Other budget hotels in my opinion have much  better basic options.

Very budget and needs to improve 

Like all the other reviewers, I was booked here on a group tour. I am travelling solo. Personally, I found this to be pretty good budget accommodation. The rooms are selling from $15 today, which is a good price for this hotel. 
I stayed in room 101. It was a nice little room. Easy to access. Air con working. Hot shower. Flushing toilet. Comfortable bed. I had no issues with the wifi either and I spent a couple of hours watching YouTube. 
Front desk checked me in quickly. They do store your passport though. Breakfast was basic and included in the package. Overall, this hotel isn’t as unimpressive as the other reviews suggest. It had everything that I as a budget solo traveler required.

Decent Budget Stay

The Huynh Lac hotel is a budget hotel. Having said that, the rooms are decent, the staff is very friendly but it's quite a noisy place. It's well located, walking distance from the main points of interest in Can Tho, like the night market or the harbour where the tours to the Mekong delta depart from.
