I stayed in this hostel with my boyfriend last night and we wish we hadn't! We booked the room with Agoda, originally for two nights. Upon arrival we were told there was only one room left and were asked to look at it first, which we found odd. The room appeared a bit grimy but we though 'it'll do.' We were in a rush to get to the firework display which we had travelled to Da nang for.
We were annoyed though, to discover there was no refrigerator as was advertised online. My boyfriend is type 1 diabetic and insulin dependent. His medicine needs to be kept cold. It had been out of a fridge for a few days as we travelled and we had relied on there being one in the room. The owners apologised for this and asked how long we wanted to stay. We said we would only stay for one night. They they asked what time we would be checking out to which I replied 'what time is checkout usually?' They looked at each other before recording on ten o clock. It all felt a little strange, like they didn't really want us to stay. Perhaps they had over booked the rooms.
When we arrived back later that night we discovered how dirty the room actually was. It had obviously not been cleaned. The towels were used, empty shampoo sachets lay around the bathroom, the sink was filthy and the bed smelt of stale sweat. I had a poor night's sleep as a dog barked into the early hours, doors kept banging and people downstairs were shouting at about 7 o clock in the morning.
We were glad to be leaving but first we needed a refund for the second night that we booked. One of the owners tried to charge us again despite the fact we had already paid online. When we finally managed to explain this we asked for a refund for the night we would not be staying. We were told that they could not do this and we would have to take it up with Agoda. We tried to argue the case but the owner stopped being able to speak English. We decided to give up and contact Agoda. 
Thankfully it was only about 11 dollars. We are now in a hotel just over the river which cost just a dollar more but is clean, modern and spacious with the facilities advertised. 
If you are thinking of staying in his hostel you should just stop and go somewhere else.

Disgusting

For $10 US, I have a single bed in a spacious room. Clean with private restroom, ac, refrigerator, tv. The staff are helpful too. There are a few inexpensive cafe and good places to eat. The town center is a 5 minute walk. So far I have complaints (yet).
