I can't say that the staff were helpful or unhelpful as we didn't speak each others language and no amount of sign language enabled us to tell the receptionist that our safe was locked when we entered the room, therefore rendering it useless for our 4 night stay. 

The room we had was huge with a large terrace and a fabulous view of Dragon bridge, sadly that was the only positive.

The mattress was absolutely rock hard and the room felt dingy and depressing. As I said, we were there for 4 nights and no attempt was made to clean our room until the 3rd day of our stay. We were out for hours each day so I have no idea why it wasn't done. We had to go searching for toilet rolls etc.
Most of the furniture in the room was in an okay state, apart from the fridge which had definitely seen better days but the bathroom was awful. Dirty.
I really didn't like the fact that every time we entered or left the hotel there was somebody sitting at the coffee table in reception chewing on sunflower seeds and discarding the skin/peel whatever it is all over the coffee table. A disgusting habit anyway but we were there during the coronovirus scare and to have people's spit all over the table is a health hazard as well as being generally revolting. Needless to say we will not be returning.

Depressing

Booked for 2 nights but I'll be leaving after one. Mattress is the worst mattress I have come along in a decade of travelling. Sheets are dirty, springs are poking me everywhere. Requested another blanket to try and soften and cover the springs. Covered in bodily fluid stains. No window, which I don't care about except the picture on the booking site used showed a window. The showers/sink has no water coming from it, which as anyone who spreads time in Vietnam in hot May knows, is a problem. 

On the plus side, the air con is working and when the shower was working it was good.

In the past 60 days travelling Vietnam and Thailand this has been the 2nd most expensive hotel I have booked and easily, easily the worst. Of course the stay in non refundable, so congrats, you got me! Well and truly scammed.

Far far below average

Family owned business in a very convenient location, situated just by the sea, next to Dragon Bridge, not far from local markets and the cathedral. There are many good restaurants and coffeeshops nearby. The room was bright and spacious, had a beautiful wooden floor and an amazing view across the river. Staff were friendly and professional.

Great location

I stayed here for one night, the staff are very friendly and helpful, it is just by the sea and has perfect view, very close to Han market and the cathedral, lots of good restaurants nearby. highly recommended!

Tidy and clean, convenient location, friendly staff

We spent 4 days in Da Nang and found Catinal when walking on the street desperate looking for help with tours as the hostel we booked in wasn't able to assist so I decided to rock up anywhere and ask for help. The girls at the counter were all lovely and extremely helpful, it didn't matter we weren't guests they were very happy to assist and book for us excellent tours to Bana Hills and Hue, groups of max 10 people (all locals), the tours were sensational, we truly had a close touch of the Vietnamese culture. At the 2nd day we decided to change our hostel for Catinal Hotel, they offered excellent rates and the most beautiful views of Han River, the building is close to all shops and restaurants as well as the beautiful bridges. It was absolutely magical to step in the balcony and see the city coming alive from 6pm until midnight. Watching the traffic from the 6th level was also fun.
We highly recommend this hotel!!!

Excellent service - Best views EVER!!

The Catinal hotel is located next to the dragon bridge and to many restaurants, local market and coffee shops. The rooms are clean and spacious, you should ask for one with window and city/bridge view. Have breakfast somewhere else.
Friendly staff.
