Super nasty hotel. Black spots of dirty on the sheets, floor and walls. spider webs and dust everywhere. Room not isplated so the heating doesn't do anything, go got sick because of the stay in this hotel

Freeze to death in the nastiest hotel

The nastiest rooms. Very dirty, black spots on the floor, sheets, curtains and walls. Dust everywhere. Room very very cold that I also got sick. Very poor breakfast. Never to come back. 

We asked to change the room but the other was the same. Nobody has cleaned or painted this rooms in years.

Horrible nastiest rooms

Ok so first off I loved the location its close to BUT away from the hustle bustle of the main sqaure perfect for us.
Staff were always SMILING and the breakfast served is with a choice of eggs and hot bevg lovely.
Rooms are decent size and clean as well so now ome may ask why not 5 STARS thats because of 1 of the receptionist. We stayed here 3days due weather being bad etc. In good faith we asked the receptionist to book us a bus and ferry to CAT BA. She informed us 10dollars for ferry/ship but if we pay 12 dollars we could cut our journey time down a LOT as we would be taking the SPEED BOAT. 
I read online and it made sense what she was saying so we booked the 12dollar option I even asked her for a receipt for the bus or tour operator she replied she would handle all that.
Sadly for us when we took the bus we realized we would NOT BE GOING VIA SPEEDBOAT instead we waited 40min for the ferry then cars and people got on the ferry then we left. A journey of 3.5hours took us 5.30 that too after PAYING MORE. 
I would say the bus operator cheated or the receptionist was unaware BUT seems unlikely as she would not give us a receipt or tell me thw bus operators name. 
On the way back from Cat ba we did come via the SPEEDBOAT option so I feel very cheated by this.
That being said enjoy the hotel and amenities I would have NAMED THE STAFF but i do not want her job to be .... hope she enjoyed the extra 3dollars per person she made of this deal ( it would seem).
Save yourself the trouble don't book bus or tours from the hotel just to be safe.

Lovely visit and experience but 1staff spoilt it 

Well priced Budget Hotel that is well located with helpful friendly staff. The lift is very slow but the staff warned me about that. Breakfast was good. Rooms small but comfortable and clean. More than OK for a short stay.

Budget Hotel - OK

Well where do I start, from the moment we arrived staff where extremely friendly, chatty and helpful. The location of the hotel is superb every where is in walk distance and we didn't need a taxi, bus or any type of transport at all the whole trip. Breakfast was perfect with four options catering for everyone, rooms where extremely clean, beds comfy, a lot of tv channels for many nationalities and all age groups! on arrivle we where extremely unsure on things to do and how to get places as it was our first time in Vietnam let alone Hanoi and if it wasn't for Anna one of the staff receptionist our holiday would have been a lot different. On arrivle she recommend so many things do, see and eat and located them all on a very useful map given! We appreciated it so much making our trip so much easier and saving so much time so we could see everything Hanoi has to offer. Not only was she helpful, she was also extremely friendly and always had a smile on her face plus took the time out to speak to us no matter how busy she was. Another staff memeber we would like to thank is Jenny, always very smiley and the fist to greet us in the mornings, informing us with very useful information for the day ahead making our day a lot easier and stress free. Thanks Jenny for the perfect start to the day! We couldn't fault this hotel, in our whole few months we been travelling the world, this is by far the most friendly and helpful hotel we have stayed in, they have set the bar so high for other hotels now not only in Vietnam but for the rest of or trip in south east Asia! We Would like to thank all the staff one last time for the pleasant stay and making our expierance of Hanoi, Vietnam unforgettable.
