Even spending 31 USD for one night is too expensive for this place!
First of all, they converted USD to Dong with a super expensive exchange rate which neither the people on the streets would offer you.
Second, if they have to state on their rules (which are from the old hotel name; ehy did they change the name???), that prostitutes are not allowed, I mean it says everything about the place and the guests.
Third, it was not cleaned at all: it said that the toilet has been cleand and desinfected; so how come that there were hairs left in the toilet?
Fourth, the rooms are even smaller than regular asian standards (except Tokio downtown).

Simply: don't go there

Don't go there! Now its called Brilliant Hotel

Recent name change to Brilliant Saigon with refurbishment still in progress but did not detract from compact but adequate room with  air conditioner which worked well, good hot shower & basic amenities including hairdryer & satellite TV all provided for with bottles of water replaced daily. Room rate includes decent buffet breakfast.Very friendly & helpful young staff.Locared in back street of District One where locals live & shops & restaurants in abundance.Excellent value for money for 2.5/3 star rating..Definitely recommend

Great value in excellent location

They have changed the name to "BRILLIAND SAIGON HOTEL" and i don't think lives up to its name.
They have done a lot of improvements,surely for the better,installed new nicer and more spacious bathrooms in some rooms like the one i always stayed but they increased the prices as well.
Mrs Loan,the previous owner,has rented it out and the new owners are not as efficient as Mrs Loan,who is badly missed.
Where Mrs Loan put customers interest before the hotel, the new owners are doing exactly the opposite and thats a recipe for disaster.
They increased the airport drop off, from 160vnd to 220vnd, an icrease of almost 40%.!!!!
Far too many staff and very inexperienced and absolutely DISORGANISED, lack of communication between them,e.g. as they cleaned my room when they shouldn't and i had to throw away a couple of my cloths as they spilled coconut oil on them.
A few cockroaches as well, only ask the night receptionist who caught one in my room !!!!!
My thanks to Vu, the young receptionist, who was very helpful and so kind indeed.
But,Mrs Loan is badly missed, as she was running the hotel exceptionally BRILLIANDLY.

NOT SO .....BRILLIAND

This is not big hotel in the tourist center of Ho Chi Minh City. We spent here five days and we were glad come back again and again. 
On the one hand hotel is located in quiet place, so as it is surrounded by other buildings. On the other hand there are a lot of travel agencies, small supermarkets, gift shops and restaurants closely. In addition the bus station is nearly and you will not have problem if you need some bus. 
Hotel has six floors but there is lift and you will not have problem with your luggage. 
We rented triple room and in general we were satisfied. Rooms are not large, but very clean and  light . There are two comfortable beds, wardrobe, desk, TV and air conditioner. Air conditioner is very good. It is well to cools room and doesn't make room like fridge.  The bath room is large, but simple and there is insufficient ventilation therefore there is hot. Hot water is good, you don't have to wait when it warms up. Besides hotel provides one bottle of water for each person, soup, toothbrush and shampoo free. WiFi is free. But on the fourth and fifth floors, the Internet signal was weak. The best Internet signal was in the bathroom.
Breakfast is simple. Hotel offers a choice: fried or scrambled eggs, toasts, butter, jam and fruits. The staff of hotel is really nice people. They all are very friendly, attentive and ready to help with any questions. They can help to order taxi and excursions. The price of taxi from hotel to airport is good and is 160 000 VND
Now this hotel has one problem – there is repair. It isn't problem if you don't plan to spend a lot of time in the room. But you have to be ready that there will be dirtier than usual in the common areas. All construction work is carried out in the daytime and  there is not noise at nights. 
In general it is good place to stay in Ho Chi Minch city if your aim is met with this city and you are not going to spent lot of time in the room.

Nice hotel in the center of Ho Chi Minh city

Wonderful staff, checked in after 1am and room was quiet and comfortable. affordable and good location in district 1. Helpful for information and always a nice smile. Extended our stay and will return again soon.
