It's 2**, so don't expect the Ritz.

Very nice lady at counter to greet me. Basic private room, but with everything I need. Shielded from most of the noise esp the parallel backpacker hell hole.

Worst hotel experience ever. Clearly not cleaned room (a used soap in the shower, ants on the floor, and a unidentified bad smell in the room). We discovered stink bugs in the bed in the middle of the night and we went out at 6 a.m. Plus, we haven't been sleeping because of all the noise in the corridors (privacy is inexistent there). When we told the guy at the reception about the general state of the room he completely ignored it and we had to pay the night + an other night for cancelling "too late". We stayed 45 minutes explaining our problem because the staff did not speak English and after that we finally could check out. And after that, the man at the reception dared to invite us to stay for the breakfast, which is made on dubious conditions under the stairs. We obviously declined and ran out of this stinky place. 
For a few dollars more you can stay in much better hostel. My advice : RUN from this hostel !!

Stink bugs in the bed

Ok so positive to start - the location is good, on a busy commercial street with lots of amenities nearby. The air-con is good, the beds comfortable and the toilets passable. There are lockers in the room.

Unfortunately there's a lot to be desired. There is no atmosphere at all. I found a bedbug in my bed, there didn't seem to be anymore but even one isn't a good sign; the wifi is incredibly patchy; the Reception staff, while very friendly, put me in an 11 bed dorm when I booked an 8, and the free breakfast is only served from 7-9am(?!). What backpacker, or any holidaymaker for that matter, wakes that early??

I booked for one night and was happy not to extend. Not the worst, but there are so many more good hostels to choose from.

I wish I could give this place no stars!!
It was so filthy we had to check out after 1 hour.... and I have a pretty high tolerance for crappy hotels in SE Asia. I was so glad to be away from that disgusting hotel!

DO NOT STAY HERE

Where to start.

The door had a huge gap between the frame and the door at the bottom! Privacy = zero.
The TV took up a lot of space and we couldn't use it as the signal was so bad.
Wires were exposed throughout the room and in the bathroom.
The aircon pipe went straight into the shower. 
The hot water system was temperamental. 
They forgot to give us towels.

You can spend the same amount of money and stay at a better place for sure.

Oh no no no

I can only assume that those people who have rated this hotel didn't have the misfortune of staying in Room 103!  While bedding is clean the room itself is in a real state - damp, peeling paint, broken shower door, damaged furniture.  One window is smashed and repaired with plastic sheeting the other is 90% bricked up.  The first floor also 'benefits' from the constant noise of blasting music in reception or the constant stream of traffic, even at the rear of the building.  There are much better places in the vicinity for the same, if not lower, price.  Suggest you shop around...
