We came on 24rd of December, booking for 2 nights price and stay confirmed via booking. Very unpleasant lady as soon as we entered the living room(first room from the alleyway) told us that the price is wrong from 250k VND/night to 350k VND/night. She was rejecting us even when we were showing confirmation email from booking, we had to look for another room and contact booking support for free cancellation which took us several hours.

This property should be delisted, as we are not first ones who had occurred such situation.

Avoid at all costs

I booked months in advance and when I arrived they said they were fully booked and just told me to find somewhere else. I had to spent 3 hours finding a new place to stay for the weekend! Do not book here, save the hassle!

Terrible! DO NOT BOOK HERE!

Would give this Hostel 0 stars if I could. We booked a room at their hostel in the private room, not dormitory,l via booking.com and the place was disgusting and stank (my partner compared the smell to that of rotting animals) so we decided not to stay there. He seemed to think that we should still pay to which we obviously refused and found a lovely place to stay in. I went online to find that he had found my name via Instagram, stalked my Facebook profile and decided to message people on my friends list (including my cousins who had just lost their Mum) saying we used the aircon, were in the room for an hour, I took a shower and left without paying. Why would I do that in a place that was vile? Its not like I’m living on the street and needed to shower and booking.com could see we checked in to and paid for another room elsewhere immediately after. I checked booking.com which also said there was no cancellation fee so there was no way I was going to pay this man for a 2 night stay we never had. I feared for my safety in Ho Chi Minh after this as he had photographs of me and had gone to all this trouble when I wasn't in the wrong. Completely bizarre and scary, I would avoid this place at all costs!

Absolutely disgusting - AVOID AT ALL COSTS!

Stayed here for two nights. Staff were lovely- friendly and accommodating. Breakfast was basic but filling. Location is very convenient, however the actual hostel is quite hard to find. Only downside was that our room was on the roof and was very hot at times, but overall excellent value for money

Great value

Mimi's is an excellent choice for the value conscious traveler. Hidden in an alley a breath away from the main strip of Pham Ngu Lao (the happening backpacker's district) it's a perfect launching place/crash pad. Also, the staff/owners were incredibly kind and accommodating. I'd stay there again, if only to see them again. Great value, great experience. Would recommend.

Excellent, cheap hostel

This hostel has very cute rooms which you don't often see in hostels. It is very close to anywhere you might want to be and the best part is the staff and ownership. The owners are incredibly kind and all the staff was friendly. Would highly recommend.

Great place, wonderful owners.

For those with a limited budget and keen to see Saigon "veins of life" Mimi's backpackers is the place. Very clean and well located, the hostel is situated in an alley where you will feel like been in a movie or better in some sort of modern sommerset maughan's novel. 
Both owners are very nice and attentive people always trying to make you feel confortable. 
Don't miss the exquisite smoothies around the corner ( Five boy number one -  smoothies. 86 Bui vien street).

Loved it! 

The owner of this hostel is probably the nicest lady I met in Vietnam. She constantly went out of her way to help my partner and i. The hostel its self was cheap but very nice with comfortable beds and spotless bathrooms. Each room had ac and a TV. I stayed here on two separate occasions and would stay here again if I was ever to return to ho chi Minh !
