Hands down the worst hotel I’ve stayed in since arriving in south east Asia 2 months ago, and probably ever. Me and my girlfriend arrived at this hotel that is now called Youth House and got into our room which was absolutely filthy and still had the same sheets from the previous people as there were hairs all over it. The floor was covered in ants as it hadn’t been cleaned. The women working lied and said it was the maids first day. The bed broke after laying on it so we got to choose between 2 other rooms, the first one had HUGE cockroaches running around so of course we didn’t choose that one. The second room again was filthy and clearly hadn’t been cleaned in forever. We never received clean towels or extra toilet roll the whole 4 days we stayed. The owner of the hotel didn’t live nearby so we had to communicate over WhatsApp and he was very unhelpful. When messaging about the room not being cleaned after he said it would be he read our messages and didn’t reply. I highly recommend NOT staying here. The hotel is under new management so previous reviews on the hotel are not true. We wish we had known this sooner.

WORST HOTEL IVE EVER STAYED IN!!!

After seeing amazing reviews online for Sasa I booked to stay here for 4 nights and thought it was excellent value for money - however things went from bad to awful within 5 minutes of arriving. 

Firstly you should know that all the great reviews are for SaSa Hotel and what the website or booking.com doesn’t tell you is that it is now under new management and when you arrive you will think you’ve been dropped off in a back alley with absolutely no sign to signify where the hotel is it turns out it’s now above the shop “youth house”. After being left to work things out for ourselves we eventually got into our room at 11:30pm!! Only to find that the sheets were stained, covered in hair, floor covered in ants and in general just filthy. We had to message someone to come and clean it and all they said they could do was change the sheets until the maid came the next day. The next day and we message to say the fridge is also disgusting and will need cleaning only to be told our room will not be cleaned as the maid can’t get in!! 

We return to our room later that evening and the bed then breaks but with no-one from the hotel that actually works there nearby and no hotel reception we were left again to just message and explain the problem to be told over the phone we can chose from two other rooms until someone came by the next day to talk to us (this never happen) so we went to the first room to find it crawling with cockroaches and then went to the second to find it just as dirty as the original room we went into the day before this time with added pills on top of the wardrobe. With no other option and it being late at night we decided to stay in the second room and meet the so called “manager” the next day. 

The manager sounded lovely over the phone and very apologetic but we never heard from him again after the night the bed broke even though he was supposed to stop by, absolutely shocking service considering everything we had been to and it’s supposed to be a new business you would think he would want to make a good impression! 

We constantly had to ask for clean towels, toilet roll, soap, the basics that a hotel should offer. Please see just a few pictures we managed to take below and do not waste your time or money staying here!! For the sake of an extra £10 it is worth staying somewhere much nicer!!! 

DO NOT STAY HERE 

Fantastic location in a side street from Bui Vien, so a stones throw to the action, but must stress that is was very quiet, both in the day and of a night. Room was a good size for 2 and very clean, as were the communal areas too. Good sized bed (but very hard!), fridge with drinks, fan and a/c. Staff very friendly and helpful.

Good budget accommodation

Stayed for a few nights here and had a great stay. We had a room with balcony and the room was quite large and very clean. The bathroom was also big with a bathtub. The bed was very comfortable and the air-conditioner and wifi worked well. The staff were fantastic - really friendly and helpful. Convenient location.

We wanted to stay an extra night but unfortunately they were sold out - I guess we aren't the only ones who like this place!

Friendly staff, good prices

Sa sa Hotel is perfect! The price is good, the staff it is very frendlyship. The room  there are very good. I came back in Sa sa Hotel of 5 last years. And every year it is very good.

The Best

This hotel is perfect if you don't want to spend more than $16 a night - quite difficult to find that sort of price in District 1. 

The rooms are basic but decent for the price with a fridge, tv, a fan, hot shower with good pressure and working air con. The beds are a tad on the hard side which doesn't really bother me but might someone else. Our room was on the top floor which wasn't a problem for us, but other people might struggle with the steep and narrow steps.

The location is great, in a small alley between Bui Vien St and Tran Hung Dao St.. Close to all amenities but also far enough away from the noisy tourist area.

The main reason I'm giving this hotel 5 stars is because of the staff. They are so friendly and helpful, always smiling! They go out of their way to help their guests in any way they can.

If my partner and I return to HCMC, we'd definitely come back here.

Good budget hotel

We stayed here and found no faults. It is definitely not luxury standard but if you're looking for a place to put your head down, shower and Internet surf then, I feel, this is the place for you. Front of house staff are super friendly and helpful and location is perfect, just off the main backpacker strip. All in all, a lovely place to stay.
