Ended up with staying an extra week. If you’re backpacking and would like a authentic experience this is the place.
The price makes it incredibly cheap to stay, so does the staff. Price and staff makes this my favorite so far.
Shout out to Andre and the dogs on the beach.

Best backpacker place

Awesome hostel and great location. Staff are awesome particularly Steve. Pub crawl was cool and generally just an awesome place. The dune tour was quite good aswell but dont do the early one. Cheers Steve 

Cool place

That hostels is amazing. The value for money is great. But the biggest plus is the atmosphere. Cool and relaxed people everywhere including the staff. You can sleep direct at the beach in tents but they also have normal dorms with AC. All in all it’s a great place to stay if you don’t like to be in the town next to all the resorts.

Awesome stay direct at the beach!

On Christmas Eve a local guy at the bar chucked a drink in my face when I was looking for my phone - for absolutely no reason (I can only assume he thought I’d accused him but even that wouldn’t have made complete sense). Rather than cause a scene I spoke to the bar staff who had witnessed the incident but were not interested. Finally the foreign staff workers intervened and informed me that the bloke would not be on the campground in the future.
To my surprise 2 days later the guy from the bar had returned and I asked the Vietnamese manager what the guy was still doing around the bar. It became clear that as the guy was a regular the Vietnamese staff were not interested in any sort of resolution and as he knew the locals he was above any sort of management. Even the foreign staff were as shocked as I was that this guy was allowed to remain, and I also found out the bloke had prior issues relating to carrying a knife around.
My experience with the management was hugely unprofessional and although the foreign workers were helpful and understood the situation there was little they could do as the Vietnamese staff who had seniority couldn’t have cared less and started joking around.
The basic necessity of customer safety is neglected and as far as I know there is still a local at the bar creeping on women, carrying a knife and initiating bar fights.

Shocking treatment by management

I arrived at Longson from saigon with the intention of just to relax at the beach for a couple of days, the days turned into more than a month 😁 For me it's the best place in Vietnam to relax and surf. The vibes are very chill, the staff is super relax and friendly, they have all the inside info you need 😉 pubcrawls are legendary, check brayden's neckrollin' and hipshaking moves and sit back nearby Brad the firepit and enjoy a skinny dip once a while 😉

The best getaway place in Vietnam

Great people, great food, great location and great advice. We had an amazing time! We stayed an extra night and still weren’t ready to leave. It’s a super chill vibe, the beach is really quiet and rustic. I would 100% recommend to everyone! There were solo travellers, friends and families with small children and everyone felt at home.

Magical place full of happy friendly staff who will go out of their way to help you and make you feel at home. Great facilities and gorgeous Views you will not regret staying here. I loved it!

What a wonderful place!

Thought I'd stop over in longson for 1 to 2 nights ended up staying 8 because it was that good. It felt like home in that time I was there. The dogs there are absolutely beautiful and loving animals that really added to the comfort of my stay. The staff helped with all my inquiries, in particular Nikki, Brayden and Nas who really add to the atmosphere of the place. Highly recommend, this is a special place that can't be compared to other places I've stayed in Vietnam.

I recommend the management to have activities in the day time as well because not everyone is a night life lover. Of course there are the board games and jenga blocks that are useful for passing time. 
When I was there I couldn't find the volley ball, nobody could!
Other than those shortcomings it was all very chill and good. Enjoyed the privacy of the beach as well. I used the space on the beach with swings for a photo-shoot which was great!

The vibes are great in the night, I loved the Pool with shots game.

If you're looking for an extremely cheap place to stay on the ocean with a great beach, then look no further. The food is great and organic. Great selection of different dishes from around the world. The beds are very firm in the dorms. The tents on the beach have mattresses and are very soothing to sleep in with the gentle waves from the ocean rolling in.
